That's the idea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bq7mdl0yAy0. Control the Crosshair and push the note with kinect.

That is a great idea!!!! That would be a exercise if they add this support.

This thing has terrible delay. It would be unplayable.

Why?

The tablet I used had a 30-50ms delay. Since the kinect relies on video input, lets say it has a 100ms delay (being really nice, I bet its a lot longer). Now to simulate it, add -100 to your universal offset, and try playing. Tell me how your acc looks afterward.

blissfulyoshi practically summed it up. the input delay from the kinect having to process your movements would make most things unplayable, and the more complex patterns and streams in particular would not be able to be played properly.

well, well, well
IF you can create the effect with setting the univ. offset on -100 wouldnt be the Kinect effect negated if we set it on +100???

Have you ever tried playing a game where the audio and video are completely desynced? You really want to interact with that? I don't want to be part of that nightmare.

Edit: Also, there are projects like this: http://kinectmouse.codeplex.com/ that probably give the kinect all the support it needs to play osu! (you will probably need a keyboard), so why not just use that instead of asking coders to spend time to rewrite already available code.

Edit 2: According to an Anandtech review, the current Kinect has a 267ms delay, which is the difference between a 300 and 50 at least (not purely sure, but you can play around with it) (source: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4057/micr ... -review/12)

Totally agree with this.

Replace xbox with kinect, and you got my Opinion to Kinect. And to this idea.

Not a bad idea, but its hard to realize it.

Maybe once motion input devices' latency decreases.
