[Hard]
00:17:290 (8) - nc here
00:23:440 (8) - ^
00:26:890 (7) - ^

feels you may add some hitsound to make it more fun >_> GL :)

these are the default colors?

Everything else was fixed except the hitsounds, I might need to get some custom sounds if I want to make anything sound good :/

thanks for modding!

Taiko mod as requested

lol are you serious the font on taiko bg

00:17:140 - to show the downgoing melody use kkdd?
00:17:590 - actually these 3 instrumental notes are equally heavy, consider to finish all 3 or none of them
00:22:390 - ^
00:38:590 - stop the stream at this vocal accent like before? Then use kkd
00:46:390 - the pitch of the 3rd note is higher. D D K?
00:59:290 - dkdkddk?
01:04:540 - dkkddk? it sounds better when ending with k, just a personal thought

nice music.

lol are you serious the font on taiko bg It's the font from the game series at least xD, I do have a normal font BG too though just in case lol.

00:17:140 - to show the downgoing melody use kkdd? Sure
00:17:590 - actually these 3 instrumental notes are equally heavy, consider to finish all 3 or none of them That's kinda what I want to do, but I would have to break the quad before that since I don't want to put a finish in a 1/4th section regardless of the bpm and I don't want to do that more than I want all three of those notes to be finishers.
00:22:390 - ^ ^ because I didn't change the other one, and I want them to be the same finish wise.
00:38:590 - stop the stream at this vocal accent like before? Then use kkd feels a little empty there without the full pattern.
00:46:390 - the pitch of the 3rd note is higher. D D K? vocally the third one is higher, but in the percusion it's the opposite.
00:59:290 - dkdkddk? Yes.
01:04:540 - dkkddk? it sounds better when ending with k, just a personal thought I think the current pattern flows out of the kiai more easily.

nice music. GUST composers for the win?

updated; thanks, chris! :)

[Easy]

01:29:590 (3) - New combo here so it's consistent with the 01:36:790 (1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3) - section?
01:34:390 (3) - ^
01:43:990 (4) - ^

[Normal]

  1. I think the normal hitsound sections sound better at 45% volume. But why didn't you use SC:2 like Hard? You could use the same hitsound pattern on notes like 00:50:890 (2) - and keep the same volume =P
00:49:400 - Unsnapped inheriting section, since you're changing hitsound / volume here probably best to snap it.
00:50:580 - ^

Taiko diff is fun and Hard looks great. Let me know what you think and I'll be back :D

No kds lol

boom updated

Those timing sections were me being silly...

You're not going to use the custom clap on Normal? Also shouldn't 01:46:390 - be default hitsound like the other diffs? (Sorry if I didn't notice this before, can't tell after the update!)

Well, let's try it.
This song is beautiful by the way :>

— Overall
I never liked standart combo colors, they're too bright and hurt my eyes. Try these, they are more pale and nice:
SPOILER
[Colours]
Combo1 : 200,185,145
Combo2 : 160,124,205
Combo3 : 211,169,169
Combo4 : 177,200,222

Hard

— Overall
Mainly − only hitsounds and cosmetic suggestions and only one really important rhythm issue. Your rhythm is almost perfect, but that fix can make it better.

— Mapping
  1. 00:10:840 (2,3,4) - I wish you could make this stream flow a bit smoother, like on the screenshot. Also if you do this, you will have more place for (5) and better flow possibilities for it. You did the flow pretty well in the parts like this: 00:20:440 (3,4,5)
  2. 00:12:790 (1) - Please add new combos every downbeat. You combos are too long atm, and the sound changes noticeably on the big white ticks, so NCs here are reasonable. Like here 00:17:590 (1) and 00:22:390 (7) here, check which downbeats fit the new combo.
  3. 00:12:490 - Remove the whistle here please. It's really unneccessary, I can't hear any pitch up on this note.
  4. 00:13:690 - But here the whistle fits. Try it.
  5. 00:14:590 - Remove the whistle. Nothing calls for it.
  6. 00:14:890 (2,3) - Try to swap whistles here. Add it on the circle and remove from slider's head. This makes much more sense, because the sound on (2) is higher than on (3).
  7. 00:16:090 (5,6) - Same.
  8. 00:17:290 (1,2,3) - Like the first suggestion. I want to see these circles beeing an extension of the slider, like it was one solid object. This looks much neater. Also atm your spacing is 0.84x; 0.78x on (2), and that looks a bit odd. If you fix it like on the screenshot with snapping to 0.8x, it would look much better.
  9. 00:17:290 (1) - Add a whistle here, strings are pitching up
  10. 00:19:540 (7) - + whistle please, just fits the previous whistle very good. Try it.
  11. 00:20:290 (2) - + whistle? You mus temphasize how (2) is higher than (3)
  12. 00:24:490 (1,2) - Swap whistles like on 00:14:890
  13. 00:35:890 - Add a whistle here to be consistent with whistles on 00:33:490 and 00:31:090
  14. 00:45:190 (3) - And my main reason for modding this: this rhythm is wrong. You want to keep symmetry, but you miss an important string note on 00:45:490. You really need a note there, so my suggestion: (don't forget to keep hitsounds)
  15. 00:47:590 - Consider adding a green line with increased volume like 45-50%
  16. 00:50:890 (3) - Sudden 0.9x? You usually use 0.8x, visually - far closer spacing. This change is unneeded and strange. You definitely can keep encircling:
If you apply this, 00:48:190 (1,2) - will be placed too close probably, so just move (1) down if that happens.
  17. 00:54:790 (3,4) - Copy the last fix if you apply it.
  18. 00:59:290 (3) - Just one grid up to make it 0.8x, not 0.85x
  19. 01:02:890 (10) - One grid up please... It's too close now.
  20. 01:22:390 (1,2,3) - Please make the spacing consistent.
  21. 01:47:440 (3) - Why do you suddenly use 0.62x? This spacing is too close, you always used 0.8x. Fix it please. The same issue 01:47:740 (4,5), 01:49:390 (8,9,10,11)
Normal

— Mapping
  1. 00:16:390 (5) - (optional) Just in my opinion, this curve looks better (Ctrl+H+J+R). Move 00:17:590 (1) if you fix it ofc
  2. 00:23:590 (5) - Rhythm. End this slider at 00:24:040 and add a note at 00:24:340. The player must be already used to blue ticks for this moment; also this placement fits piano better.
  3. 00:25:990 (2) - It will flow better and fix any spacing errors/unneeded jumps if you Ctrl+R it.
  4. 00:32:890 (2,3) - This is a 1.2x jump which is totally unneeded. It breaks the flow and meh :c Must be fixed.
  5. 00:34:390 (1) - Eeeh, what is the reason for using it? I can hear notes at 00:34:990 - 00:35:290 and 00:35:590, you must map them too.
  6. 00:42:490 (2,3) - Overlaps are not welcome in Normal diffs, especially such weird ones. This can be a possible solution. ((4) is stacked on (1) start)
  7. 00:43:990 (1) - The same long strange slider. It is probably nice-looking, but the music is not calling for it.
  8. 00:56:590 (1) - Try to reduce this jump, at least like this (to 1.2x)
  9. 01:31:090 (6,8) - This 1.2x is a jump? This is likely a spacing error, looks very bad and plays too. Move (6,7,8) higher.
  10. 01:33:490 (2,3,4) - To fix this spacing, select 2-4 circles and use Ctrl+Shift+R to rotate them by -20°
  11. 01:58:090 (4) - One grid down and right :>
Easy

— Overall
I do not recommend you using so different distance snapping in easier diffs in the future. I believe that the best for easy is constant 1.0, since the player will not be confused with the difference between slider speeds and distances between circles. Constant speed makes playing easier. So just use distance snap and everything will be better.

— Mapping
  1. 00:11:590 (2) - Place this note to 0.7x, no need to jump from 0.9 to 0.7, this may feel confusing for beginners
  2. 00:19:990 (1,2) - Same.
  3. 00:29:590 (1) - No-no, make this closer to the previous object. This is too huge jump for beginners :c This may work:
  4. 00:48:790 (1,2,3,4,1) - This spacing is too bad imo. Many differences, jumps, anti-jumps, blah-blah. Remember what I've told about constant speeds it easy? Rework this pattern to make it better and more consistent please.
  5. 01:43:990 (1) - Too big jump here :( 1.64x for an Easy is just ridiculous.
To be honest, actual numbers (like 1.64) means nothing here. Everything is noticed by eye, it's affects gameplay, numbers are just given as a proof
Thats all from me. Good luck on making this mapset better!

woah too many suggestions for me to go through them all individually. but I changed most of them (sometimes not in the way you wanted me to but eh). thanks for the mod!

I didn't follow a bunch of the whistle suggestions where you said to add whistles to emphasize pitch because soft-whistle is a tambourine in the default skin, which I associate more with rhythm than pitch.

edit: and also I'm still breaking DS a little on Easy to avoid overlap. if you're not getting confused and combobreaking it should be fine

edit2: just cause I didn't respond individually to all the suggestions doesn't mean I think your mod was bad or anything, actually this is the one of the best mods I've gotten on a map! :)

Yay I'm happy that you haven't ignored it because of bubble, thanks *3*

Hi Dusty~
Randomly checking popped bubble here...

[General]

-> My timing check, I got offset 785 (-5ms), 790 sounds quite late for me...
-> Apply the custom combo color to Easy and Normal as well >_<

[Easy]

  1. 00:15:190 (1,3) - Maybe try something like this? It helps to avoid overlap between (3) and your next red (1) though:
    152,224,15190,6,0,B|152:167|152:167|165:98|165:98|165:42,1,180
    256,112,16390,2,0,B|256:304,1,180,2|0
    360,224,17590,2,0,B|360:167|360:167|347:98|347:98|348:42,2,180
  2. 00:29:590 (1,3) - Only for (1,3), I prefer something like this, again to avoid overlap:
  3. 00:39:190 (1) - Move a bit higher (~x:131 y:191)? (3,4,1)'s flow will be better this way imo (:
  4. 00:41:590 (3) - Well, if you do above suggestion don't forget to move this a bit lower as well to balance the pattern xD
  5. 00:56:590 (3) - Previously you have a whistle on green (3)'s start, add a whistle on slider's start as well? (the synth sounds the same on both though...)
  6. 00:57:790 (4,1) - Use 1.0x distance snap between these two (as you used in (3,4) previously)? Uhm, I don't really mind the spacing changes in this diff (they're not that hard to catch) but this one... orz, (3,4,1) really looks like accelerated spacing >_<
  7. 01:02:590 (3) - (optional) Perhaps create something like this and start spinner 1/4 after? The music continues actually, plus you can put whistle on (5) this way~
  8. 01:03:190 (1) - Make this spinner spin in ~30% volume instead? I can't really enjoy the music with the long spinner's spin sound distracting >_<
  9. 01:24:790 (3) - (optional) Remove the repeat and add circle on 01:25:990 (at the center)? Personal preference actually :3
  10. 01:39:190 (1,3), 01:41:590 (1,3) - Hmm, I'd CTRL+R these two individually so the pattern here will start from left-right-left instead of your current left-left-right...
  11. 01:51:190 (1,3) - Remove whistle on both slider's start? Whistle on slider's start should start on 01:55:990 (1) imo (plus it'll make more sense why your previous (1,1) doesn't have whistle on slider's start)
  12. 02:06:340 (1) - I really recommend to start spinner 1/4 after, 1/2 doesn't blend with the music at all though ._.
[Normal]

-> orz, idk why people are favoring AR6 for Normal nowadays... (well, this one fits AR6 though, but I've personally seen slower normal using AR6...)

  1. 00:23:590 (5) - (optional) Uhm, maybe it's just me, but straight slider looks fabulous here imo :3
  2. 00:27:190 (3) - Hmm, not a fan of many times repeating slider, actually... I prefer something like this, it'll get the soul more especially when (4) is stacked to your next (1) imo~
  3. 00:29:590 (1) - (optional) This one is worth to be curved more imo (for example, midpoint in ~x:146 y:397)
  4. 00:35:590 (3) - Uhm, are you missing whistle on slider's end here? (your next 00:43:990 has a whistle on end)
  5. 00:39:190 (1) - Same as 00:29:590
  6. 00:46:390 (5) - Put higher (~x:76 y:74) and adjust your upcoming (7)? imo this won't hurt plus your arc on (5,6,7) will look cute imo~
  7. 00:49:390 (2) - The lack of whistle here, is it intentional? (well, at least the repeat could use a whistle I think)
  8. 00:59:590 (4) - orz, why don't you make this perfectly encircled by (3) instead (~x:387 y:217) with distance snap off... Will be more beautiful this way (:
  9. 01:02:590 (4,5) - Same as my suggestion on Easy, but this time a simple straight line like this would work:
  10. 01:03:190 (1) - Also same suggestion as Easy about quieting the spinner and putting the spinner 1/4 after (:
  11. 01:27:190 (1) - This arc really could use a less narrow angle imo, perhaps try this and adjust your next arcs:
    136,352,87190,6,0,B|51:303|-21:192|44:73|136:32,1,400,2|0
  12. 01:46:390 (1) - (optional) Make this encircle (3) from the outside instead? Looks much more beautiful imo xD
  13. 01:48:790 (1) - Same as above, but to make it encircle the (3) the curve should be going right instead...
  14. 01:52:090 (2) - For variation and flow, imo putting this a bit higher (~x:320 y:126) won't hurt~ (if you did this don't forget to adjust your next (2))
  15. 02:06:490 (1) - Same as Easy, start spinner 1/4 after your previous circle to make it blend better with the music?
[Fiya's Taiko Oni]

-> I much prefer SV 1.60 here, due to low BPM...

  1. 02:06:190 (1) - K instead of D perhaps? (well, imo the song's quite "splashing" here so I prefer K)
[Hard]

  1. 00:12:190 (5) - CTRL+R and use a bigger encircle radius from your next (6) like below? I really liked the circular movement formed here~
  2. 00:21:790 (6) - (optional) Here also, personally I liked more if this is encircling (7) instead of (5)...
  3. 00:25:390 (3) - Minor stuff, put in ~x:371 y:143 to balance (2,3,4)?
  4. 00:28:990 (6) - Whistle on slider's end fits perfectly with the piano here imo...
  5. 00:36:790 (5,6,7) - Uhm, why don't you just aim for symmetry here (put (6) around ~x:455 y:192 and CTRL+J (7) from (5) - the angle from (7,8) will be better this way (plus the jump formed isn't hard to catch at all :3)
  6. 00:45:190 (3,4) - orz, again I prefer a symmetry jump here rather than two circles, flows much better imo:
  7. 00:46:390 (1,2) - If you do above suggestion, don't forget to swap their position (CTRL+R) so the pattern will be organized xD
  8. 00:54:190 (2) - Hmm, why don't you just balance (1,2,3) by placing this on ~x:211 y:189, forming a triangle instead >_<
  9. 01:03:190 (1) - Same as previous diffs about quieting the spinner and starting the spinner 1/4 after...
  10. 01:24:790 (5) - Remove the finish from slider's body? (there's no sliderfinish anyway... only sliderwhistle orz ._.)
  11. 01:38:140 (5,6,7,8) - (optional) With 120° rotation you can create something much more fancier like this, actually:
  12. 01:40:690 (6,7,8) - Well, if you do above suggestion don't forget to adjust these three as well (also applies to your next patterns like this)
  13. 01:46:390 (1) - To be honest I don't think clap is good to start your new combo here... I'd just leave it without hitsound to emphasize the angelic voices - this suggestion applies to your next (1) starts
  14. 01:52:240 (3,4) - (optional) Arrange like this instead? imo it'll be a lot fancier if (3) encircles (2): (apply this to your next (7,8) also if you want)
  15. 02:06:490 (1) - Same as previous diffs, start spinner 1/4 after your previous circle to make it blend better with the music?
Uhm... It's solid enough imo, I'll be glad to recheck this personally after the fixes~
Great symmetry map and song though (:

Okay then, rechecking... (don't kudosu this)

[General]

-> Hmm, after the fixes don't forget to apply -5ms also to your inherit sections (especially kiai :3)
-> Are you still waiting for the Taiko diff's creator? I still feel uneasy somewhat with 1.40 SV but it's not something unrankable though...

[Easy]

  1. 01:03:785 (5) - Missing whistle here? (clap as you did on Normal also works though)
[Hard]

  1. 01:03:185 (11) - New combo
  2. 02:06:185 (1,1) - Uhm, snapping error here? Spinner should be 1/4 later...
Aside from these minor stuffs, nothing else wrong (:

Sorry, I was afk from osu! a couple days orz

Changed to 1.6 sv as personal preference it looks better and quite a few people have mentioned it, and personally both D and K fit the last note, but K sounds nicer so changed. Fixed the inheriteds in my diff too.

Added a missing whistle on Hard after a talk through Forum PM, all good now~

(To next MAT/BAT/modder : there's an unsnapped inherit section (by 5ms) on Normal but it does not affect gameplay/slider speed/provides the wrong hitsound)

Hey, long time no see!

[Easy]
00:28:985 (4,1) - Quite the jump for an easy.
01:40:385 (3,1) - ^
02:06:185 (1) - Too soon after a spinner for an easy.

[Normal]
01:27:185 (1) - This section is kind of iffy with those jumps. Here's a couple suggestions to make it smoother and a bit more friendly for Normal players.
-
01:27:185 (1,2,3,4) - ctrl + j
01:31:085 (6,7,8,1,2,3,4,1,2,3) - ctrl + j
-
02:03:185 (1) - End this at 02:05:510 - (1/8 snap)

[Hard]
02:03:185 (1) - End this at 02:05:510 - (1/8 snap)

(yay I had something more than "slider touching hp bar" for once q:)
