Problem Details:
So I finally bought a new monitor, but after plugging the laptop in, there are weird stutters and lag spike at random time during gameplay. I have already dug up dozens of posts and tried way too many things but to no avail, the lag is only about 0.5 second long but as we all know 0.5s in osu means a lot. The fps suddenly dropped from about 500 to 30 but the weird thing is that osu frame counter still shows 500 fps despite there being an obvious CPU spike in task manager and when I turned on ctrl+f11. This problem only exists in osu! so I doubt it is the monitors fault. This is really getting on my nerves, any help is much appreciated.
I have already tried: Cutting edge, beta, full-screen, windowed, mess with the nvidia setting, turn off anti virus and any background programs, cmpatibility mode, reinstalling, etc
My specs: 2.6GHz Intel Core i7-6700HQ (3.5 GHz Turbo) 4 cores, 8 threads
Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M with 4GB GDDR5 + Intel HD Graphics 530
16GB (2x 8GB) 1600MHz DDR3L RAM
128GB M.2 2280 SATA SSD (Hynix SC300) + 1TB 5400rpm SATA HDD (Seagate/Samsung ST1000LM024)

osu! version: 20171227.1beta
