Compare that to:

14 words compared to 18. I cut off 4 words and stopped using vocabulary for an essay.
64 characters compared to 100. I cut off 36 words.
Both statements are easy to understand, yes, but the statement I made could be understood by an eight year old, and is much more natural. Your statement while although we aren’t talking to eight year olds, is also very artificial. You wouldn’t say that in real life, or I’m assuming you wouldn’t.
