About time, I was almost afraid Nintendo pulled a PS3.
I have been looking these up (as I am obsessed with Japanese games and consoles) and it looks like the price is about $300.00 (my prices are always from E-bay unless otherwise stated), so they will be a bit pricey... but I am looking forward to it! ^_^
Unless the DSis are different, DSes are region free and will run your English games on it. I'm also willing to bet you could already run a English menu on an imported DSi right now; as my DS had like every language except Chinese in it.Ouendan2 wrote:

Japanese and European DS Lites share the same firmware, which includes both English and Japanese, but the Japanese DSi has it's own firmware with no language options. You also can't use the North American/European DSi Shop if you import it, so I would just buy one locally and save $120 while at it.

I'm getting a dsi no Matter what happens.I have ds lite and a ds phat, both in perfect condition. Removing the gba slot was a pretty suprising move but you still have your ds lite. (sorry for the errors I was typing on my iPhone)

Seeing as I only use my DS for Japanese learning software, and Pokemon Platinum, I have no reason to get a DSi at this time, personally. The camera(s) are a stupid gimmick, and the SD card won't even play mp3 files. Let alone game ROMs (legally obtained, of course)

It's true we'd need someone to write a ROM dumper that transfers the data over wi-fi to an SMB or FTP server. Or you could just keep your Lite which is better in every way.

Hmmm...Maybe nothing is lost...if DSi is compatible to run DS games than it has to have CPUs compatible with DS...so compatible with ARM9 and ARM7... ARM7 was in DS to be compatible with GBA so maybe there is still a chance...or if not, then maybe someone will go with it and try making emulator of GBA...It would be difficult yes...but not impossible...iPhone has many emulators including GBA which runs today almost as perfect as VBA (the only "thing" is that Boktai IPS patching as far as I know doesn't work, but RTC clock is working smoothly)
