The Captain's Pick has returned for a second iteration, this time featuring only osu!standard mapsets due to the plethora of eligible ones for the category. Other gamemodes will have their votes raised every 2 weeks, whilst osu!standard will have one every week until the pools become smaller.

Vote for up to 4 maps after reading a brief description of each set chosen and written by Toy:

Busdriver - Imaginary Places by Moreon
  1. Likely the most highly anticipated mapset for the Loved category, Imaginary Places is a collaboration set featuring over 10 prominent mappers across three different modes of play. Boasting nearly 650 favorites, the vast selection in difficulties provides a little something for players of all skill levels and playstyles.
Kids, if you really want to piss off your parents, vote for this map.

Aitsuki Nakuru - Monochrome Butterfly by Settia
  1. If you've watched a "9* Godmode Jumps?? video on Youtube, you've likely heard this song by now. Settia's Monochrome Butterfly features a distinct back and forth jump section during the height of it's chorus, distinguishing it from typical 6* maps. The map by now has collected over 400 favorites and a reputation for being a simple, yet tremendously fun jump map.

Frederic - OWARASE NIGHT by n0ah
  1. Famously dubbed oddloop: The Sequel, n0ah returns alongside CptSqBany with a strikingly similar rendition of OWARASE NIGHT by Frederic. As expected from playing his oddloop, OWARASE NIGHT features difficult to read stacked "old-style" patterns with an uncomfortably low Approach Rate to boot. Challenge your reading with this imbroglio of circles.

DETRO - volcanic by spro
  1. Despite being mapped in late 2014, Volcanic remains near the top of equally difficult and immensely fun unranked maps out there today. The mapper, rustbell (formerly spro), has a reputation for mapping over-the-top graveyarded mapsets, not to let the difficulty name of [Beginner] lead you to believe otherwise. Volcanic is a tried and true classic among top players who are looking for a little extra spunk in their osu! session.

SOUTAISEIRIRON - Shikaku Kakumei by EvilElvisV2
  1. Slow things down with EvilElvis' (currently Jounzan) 4* masterpiece in Shikaku Kakumei. Tap alongside a steady 160 BPM to the sound of smooth vocals and an equally soothing background from late 2013. The map has accumulated over 350 favorites over the course of 4 years, making it a perfect contender for the Loved category.

YUC'e - Future Cider by Sing
  1. YUC'e's uptempo style makes for a near perfect pairing with osu!'s style of gameplay, and Sing has made that a reality with Future Cider. Within half a year, the map has collected over 400 favorites on what can only be described as a juicy track. Tech players will love the slider-heavy breakdown kiai section leading into the calm section before the next kiai. A beautifully crafted map all-around.

MitiS - Living Color (Dezpot Remix) by ProfessionalBox
  1. If Future Cider left you hungry for more slider wubs, ProfessionalBox has you covered with Living Color. A wholly aesthetically beautiful collaboration with prominent mappers Bonzi, rrtyui, and byfar, Living Color is wrapped up in a wonderful package emphasized by an incredible storyboard by -Tochi. It's really no wonder how Living Color managed to accrue 320 favorites, as 5 minutes fly in an instant with this slider-heavy map.

MY FIRST STORY - Fukagyaku Replace by Moway
  1. Finally, a map that left everyone questioning how it was never ranked in the first place, Moway presents an even difficulty spread of Fukagyaku Replace by My First Story. Mapped in 2014, but abandoned in 2016, this mapset has captured the hearts of nearly 775 people with a difficulty for players of all skill levels. Featuring difficulties from Aka, pkhg, Saut, and toybot, Moway has created a balanced mapset for a heart-wrenching song for all to enjoy.

Total vote percentage will use average -1% as the 'threshold' for mapset approval. It seemed to work well last time.

Note: ProfesionalBox has informed me that he will be planning on pushing Living Color for rank, so DONT vote for it. I will see if it can be pulled from the vote this week.

Living Color was pulled from the voting totals after it came to my attention that the creator intends to take it to Ranked.

This leaves a voting average of 13.01%, which following the avg-1 theme so far, means that the following maps are now Loved:

Busdriver - Imaginary Places by Moreon
Aitsuki Nakuru - Monochrome Butterfly by Settia
Frederic - OWARASE NIGHT by n0ah
DETRO - volcanic by spro
YUC'e - Future Cider by Sing
