yoooo snowy diff is too op
Grrum

Hi. Here from Christmas Queue. I don't consider this a festive song, but it's better than listening to Mariah Carey again and again. Also, if I say one thing, it might apply elsewhere in the map. Hope this finds you well!

[Snowy]

00:08:080 (4,5) – There's this feeling of lateness from these two notes. It's obvious that the music is not timed to a metronome, and that's not something you can change. What you can change is how that's communicated to the player. A larger DS between these may provide a visual cue to delay the player's click.

00:25:927 (4,1) – These two notes are very high-pitch in the music which makes them stand out and feel important. I like to think of osu as a dance. Taiko is like playing the drums, osu mania is like playing the piano, osu standard is like shaking your body around. So when I hear cool sounds like 00:25:927 (4,1) – , I want to express them in a meaningful way with my cursor. I do not feel any expression with the current pattern. 00:23:867 (1,2,3,4) – this is all clockwise circular flow. 00:25:044 (1,2,3) – This repeats clockwise circular flow. In order to show that 00:25:927 (4,1) – is cool and different, make me move in a different way. Otherwise I feel I'm just going through the motions.

00:15:632 (3) – and 00:27:103 (4,5,6) – and 00:29:456 (4,5,1,4) - – Compare to places like 00:21:073 (4) – and 00:22:691 (1,4) - . Why are some of these rotated on an angle and why are some of these purely horizontal/vertical? It's not obvious why you choose different aesthetics, so I'm confused by that, and it makes me feel like these aesthetics are fighting against each other instead of building off each other.

[Hard]

maybe look at that aesthetic issue I mentioned in Snowy

[Normal]

In terms of spread, I feel like this diff can be harder by increasing the note density in places to allow for less of a jump in difficulty to Hard. One of a few places you could this would be like at 00:19:162 (1,3) – and 00:56:809 (1,3) -

00:00:061 (1,2,3) – I was confused because 00:00:358 – is not emphasized which made me think this section was calm, but then 00:00:952 – was emphasized which made me feel like it was fast, and that didn't feel like it worked well because they are the same thing in the music.

00:37:397 (5) – this is overlapping the HP bar on smaller screen sizes. http://puu.sh/ygfmt/96872b9c9c.jpg Also in general, 00:37:397 (5,1) – this looks pretty cramped and it's clear to see that you're trying to manage the limited space you have on the screen here. Rather than work in a cramped situation, find a way to move 00:35:632 (3,4) – down to give yourself more room. For example, try moving 00:35:632 (3,4) – to the left.

Aesthetics issue about tilt vs horizontal again.

[Easy]

00:02:437 (2,3) – This is an awkward flow, especially for an Easy. Also, the visual spacing isn't nice, you can make the DS between the slider head and the circle the same as the DS between the slider end and the circle and it would look nicer. http://puu.sh/ygfbj/e23a0b6c51.jpg

00:42:691 (1) – This is overlapping the HP bar on smaller screen sizes. Find a way to move this down. http://puu.sh/ygfew/0a622b3b45.jpg

00:49:750 (3,4) – Why are these sliders different (particularly the curvatures)? Making them the same would seem to make their aesthetics fit together, so try copy pasting one of them onto the other.

00:59:161 (2,1) - ^ similar concept. In fact you can make these symmetrical. Start by making a normal symmetry across the y-axis and then rotate it to where it is now. http://puu.sh/ygfiF/c6805027d0.jpg --- http://puu.sh/ygfk4/7bdd8b882f.jpg

Good luck!

What you can change is how that's communicated to the player. A larger DS between these may provide a visual cue to delay the player's click. a NC on 00:09:050 (5) - would already notify the players that it's something new, so NC'ed it.

It's not obvious why you choose different aesthetics, so I'm confused by that, and it makes me feel like these aesthetics are fighting against each other instead of building off each other. they're based on flow, as you can see on 00:15:632 (3) - , the 00:14:444 (1,2) - is doing the opposite, that's why it does right, and not going to go down to prevent same movement (aka flow),
that also applies to the other parts ^^

[Hard]

maybe look at that aesthetic issue I mentioned in Snowy same yo

Yo! V1 mod because I absolutely hate the new system lol

General

• Tune the hitsounds volume down just a little bit, maybe -5-10% per section (excpet the one that is already 5% of course)

Easy

• 00:41:514 (4,1) - remove slight overlap

That's all tbh, distance is ok and everything else is good

Normal

• I see no major issues with this diff, but the patterns seem so repetitive overall, apart from some sections, it seems like everything else is slight variations of the same pattern. I would try to be a bit more creative with them (and maybe, in the process, increase diff a bit like the other mod pointed out)

Hard

•00:04:219 (4) - could be in a blanket with 00:03:328 (3) -
•01:12:691 (4) - maybe rotate vertically like you did on other sections

Snowy

•00:50:779 (5) - Change it so it looks more like this
•00:52:103 (1,3) - Not really a fan of this overlap, but don't know what could be done to change it
•00:52:103 (1,3) - ^, although this one is not as bad because it links smoothly with 00:54:309 (4,1) -
•01:12:103 (1,2,3,4,1) - really personal, but I don't like the looks of this pattern nor how it plays, you could change it by reverting 01:11:220 (2,3) - or doing something else

Sorry for the short mod, couldn't really find more stuff. Great song and mapset, hope it gets ranked!
Good Luck!

Hi, here for an M4M

  • General:
  1. 01:13:573 (1) - hitsound on spinner makes no sense, there's nothing there. I think a slider or just removing spinner fits better

Easy:00:47:397 (1) - all objects after this are on the right side, try playing a bit more equally00:50:926 (4) - rotate -5° for a nicer blanket

Normal:00:30:338 (2,3) - Pretty sure these aren't parallel.00:54:456 (3,4) - not parallel, is this intended?01:02:397 (2,3,1) - ^

Hard:
It seems like you had DS and grid snap on, this lead to a few inconsistencies:
00:29:456 (3,4,5) - has no followpoint leading up to it because it's spaced under 1.5x
this happens a lot from 00:19:162 (1) - to 00:56:220 (4) - , try to clean that up. It happens mostly before the triples and in the 1/2 circle sections
00:13:872 (4) - move to (252,360) looks and plays nicer00:15:632 (3) - only red-point slider in the whole map, no justification musically. Just make it round.

Snowy:00:03:031 (3) - this pattern isn't a square, there are spacing differences00:16:820 (1,2,3,4) - this is a rectangle, not a square, intended? if not pls fix. I won't mention this anymore if intended00:27:103 (4) - just put the anchor in the middle.00:29:162 (3,4,5) - these are not in line, this happens more often so I'm guessing it's intended but bringing it up anyways. It doesn't matter too much for playing the map but it looks off.01:08:573 (1) - same as 00:27:103 (4)I'd appreciate your M4M on t/649403

Good map, pretty polished. I think the difference in difficulty between Hard and Snowy is a bit too much but it should be fine criteria-wise.
Good luck with the map, sorry if the mod is a little blanket-heavy but there's not much I can find wrong with your map :D
