Yesterday I was able to open the Osu! application without trouble. When I opened it, notified me about a recent update or new version of the game. Of course I restarted the game to apply the update, however the Osu Updater client(?) did nothing. I waited for something to download but the only thing it was displaying was the message "Hi" and "Checking for updates..." I did wait for a while and came to the realization it wasn't doing anything, so I closed it out and I just left for the problem to the next day.

Im still having the same problem! I've uninstalled the game already and tried to reinstall with no luck. I really don't know what to do! Ive never had problems with Osu! updating before. Please help!

Navigate to your osu! folder (default path is C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\osu!) and provide your update.log file please.

Do you have a hidden folder in your osu! folder named _staging or _cleanup? If so, delete those.

Check to make sure your firewall and/or antivirus are not preventing osu! from updating.

How would I be able to find a hidden folder???
I deleted everything again and reinstalled everything today and now it actually downloaded up to 100% however, once the program closed out, nothing happened. I opened the logs and two text documents appeared. One saying "update" and the other "update_success"

Go to Control Panel then click Appearance and Personalization then go to folder options click view and click Show hidden files, folders, and drives.

Thank you ! I was able to find the hidden folders, but now it wont let me delete the folders because I don't have permission to. How can I get permissions?

Right click on your osu! folder and select "Properties". Go to the "Security" tab and make sure your usergroup or username has full control of the folder.

I have tried deleting the files _staging and _pending, but I still do not have permission to do so. I did as you said, and checked to properly distribute Admin abilities, but every accounts was in 'Full Control'. What else could I possibly do?

Your issue could be different than Dabkawa's. Please make a new thread explaining your issue and provide your update.log file as well.
