I am having some very distracting audio stutters (if that's the proper term for this issue?) that I can't seem to fix. I've tried a handful of different things and haven't been able to find any solution. Every second or so during any song I play on OSU, there is a very awful sounding white noise/static sounding that occurs. I've tried many different settings in OSU, nvidia control panel, double checked GPU and sound drivers to make sure they were up to date, restarted computer, uninstalled and reinstalled OSU, all to no success.

I'm not sure where to find the latest version, but I just did a fresh install and am playing on the "Stable (Latest)". I also tried using Fallback and Cutting Edge, however that still did not fix it.

Are you using a USB headset?

Try disabling surround sound if you use that at all.

I am using a USB headset. I'm not sure how to check if surround is enabled or disabled. I'm using HyperX Cloud 2. I do believe it is disabled, but I'm not positive.

Disable any audio enhancements and also disable surround sound on your headset.

All enhancements are disabled, as well as "Disable all enhancements" is checked on. The surround button is also disabled, but the issue persists.

Download this software and run it while playing.

Post your results from the Main, Processes and Driver tabs.

Is there anything in particular you need to see on the Processes and Driver tabs? the list would take a handful of screenshots.

What Nvidia GPU do you have?

GTX 1070. CPU is i7 4790k, and using 16GB RAM.

Go into the Nvidia driver global settings and change the power setting to "Maximum Performance".

Are you using a fresh install of Windows, have you recently updated your Video Drivers?

What driver version are you using?

Try disabling game mode and game bar in Windows 10 Control Panel/Settings.

388.00. It was happening on the previous driver version as well, which is why I updated to this one.

Disable Recording and Game Mode.

Sorry, I'm having trouble locating Game bar settings. It's under control panel?

I don't seem to have that setting.

Change the power option in Windows Settings/Control Panel to High Performance before trying the next step.

You can also try disable speed-step and turbo boost in your motherboard UEFI/BIOS.

Oh yeah uhh... Try playing in Fullscreen.

Last resorts:

You oughta update Windows to the latest running build.

I suppose you could try uninstalling your Nvidia drivers with DDU and then installing the latest again...?

Already set to high performance. Not sure if speedstep is on or off right now. I do also play in Fullscreen. I could try to update windows and see if that does anything, and could try reinstalling GPU driver.

How many USB devices are you using?

Did you upgrade to Windows 10 or fresh install?
