The cat suddenly felt an incomprehensible apprehension boiling within him. He could not place why he had killed that dog, only that he did. He began to think of the dog's family; his goals, passions, dreams; how he would never see anything again, how he would never take another breath. He thought about how sorry he was, but he knew nothing he ever did was ever going to return that bullet back into the barrel. The cat felt hopeless.
