i've been playing osu!mania for over 2years now and im playing with upscroll style because before i played o!m i was playing stepmania and i got used to upscroll and the arrow noteskin but i see alot of et's are using downscroll, and i feel like im not improving with the upscroll too, should i change to downscroll too?

the direction the notes come from has no bearing on your actual skill, just play more
^ This. On an unrelated note, I have never seen a 7k player using upscroll.
7k player use upscroll and turn the screen 180 around to get mirror
Downscroll prevalence comes from 2 things. Previous games such as beatmania/lr2, o2jam, etc. all use downscroll, and osumania defaults to downscroll. Scroll direction is personal preference. Hell, I use downscroll for osumania both 4k and 7k, but i play stepmania in upscroll.
if you want to be really technical then there's a difference in the way you read depending on which direction it goes but i'm not entirely sure how it works, i think you have better peripheral vision at the bottom of your eye/vision or something idk
