Being a ranking where ShaggoN got over Rucker, and some awesome players were left out while some others that can't even be compared to them got in it was really not serious at all. :c

I will most likely end up picking top players in a different way while still considering peoples votes, but I will try my hardest to make sure that it doesn't end up like it did before. Since I realize there are a lot of great players who aren't that noticed.

imo picking best mappers through voting is the dumbest thing you can do.

For players, in no particular order:

Cookiezi / Rucker / SiLviA / White Wolf / Flute

Also please remember that this video is "best players of 2011", not "best players of 2011 as of October"

I understand it's pretty dumb but I would rather not base this all on my opinion and I was having trouble finding other people who would help out.

"Best" mappers and "favorite" mappers differ I think. Also, this thread is not going to take an accurate sample of the osu! community, so it might not even portray an accurate "favorite" five mappers. Hence, dumb idea.

i agree about the title, although i think it's still a nice award to go for. And it's obviously not gonna be accurate, that'd take a fuck ton of work. but great mappers is what keeps us all playing this game, and they defentently deserve this award, even though it's not official.

Thing is I don't want to sound arrogant or anything but if you want to make an accurate players ranking you gonna have to count votes from experienced players only, you gonna get tons of users saying some player is damn good better than some other while it's painfully is isn't (people saying ShaggoN is better than Cookiezi for example), or maybe they just don't know the existance of players like Torein 13rd for example. This of course can be avoided if you pick only people with a long time in this community and a skill good enough to understand who's good and who's not.

And for mappers it's even more complicated since you should pick up many good and experienced mappers to give you their opinions, plus get players to tell you what they think since in the end one of the most important things about mapping is how people enjoy maps I guess.

Another option of course is just listing the best players around (getting feedback from the community obviously) and telling everyone to choose from there, won't work as well as the other system but it will be damn easier to do.
