Lets see what you have :)

Im gonna explain how you can improve some parts of your map, so you can make it look better uwu (Since you made a decent job actually uwu)

but as a recommendation, set your preview point where the bass drops :9

1. there are some parts like 00:14:763 (1,2,3,4) - 00:16:667 (1,2,3,4) and 00:21:905 (3,4,5,1) can be easily improved by doing sort of a "blanket" like this https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/9063619 which looks nice and cool

2 .00:17:620 (5,6,7) - i would recommen making this objects a bit closer, using 00:15:715 (5,6,7) as a reference, or like this http://osu.ppy.sh/ss/9063640 (notice it makes a nice blanket with 00:17:144 (2,3,4) )

3. Place this on x272-y352, it will look nice and it will make flow well with the circles before it.

4. 00:21:429 (1,2,3,4,5) - grab this and move it to x32-y16, it will flow better with 00:20:953 (3,4,5)

5. 00:22:382 (1,2,3) - do something like this, for example https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/9063924

6. 00:24:167 (1) - this shape can be made with only 4 gray dots, so delete one of them.

7. 00:24:763 (2,3) - replace this sliders with curved ones

8. 00:30:001 (1,1,1,1) - i would recommend you to try other kind of sliderart, since the ones you made doesnt really flow with the song. Let me link you a thread of nice sliderarts https://osu.ppy.sh/forum/t/37194, when doing sliderart, dont overlap them.

9. 00:41:429 (1,2,3) - try doing a triangle with this sliders, but dont overlap them, and make the last slider have a nice blanket with 00:42:858 (1,2,3)

10. 00:44:822 (2) - end this slider on 00:45:179 and then add a circle on 00:45:239

11. 00:45:874 (2,3) - improve this sliders so it can flow more in a circular way

12. 00:47:382 (1,2) - make this circles closer... something like 00:15:239 (2,3,4), but with only 2 circles

13. 00:48:334 (4,5) - this sliders should be and look the same

14. 00:53:493 (2,3) - same reason as #11

15. 00:54:048 (3,4) - same reason as #13

18. 01:12:382 (1,2,3) - 01:12:382 (1,2,3) - i dont know about this, but in my opinion you should keep mapping this part like you did in the rest of the song.

I like that for the first part but the second part at 21:905 I feel is more of a continuous arc matching the previous one, and wouldn't work as well as earlier.

2 .00:17:620 (5,6,7) - i would recommen making this objects a bit closer, using 00:15:715 (5,6,7) as a reference, or like this http://osu.ppy.sh/ss/9063640 (notice it makes a nice blanket with 00:17:144 (2,3,4) )

Not sure what note you are referring too, none pasted and scrolling through between the times from 2 and 4 I don't see a note that makes sense for that.

Looks nice but I tried it and I really like the way it feels before this change, gonna leave it.

Yeah I'll work on making those nicer, especially the 3rd one is pretty ugly I agree haha.

I thought that slider was a bit off, that's how to fix it! :) I added a slider instead of a circle and had it end where a circle previously was, which is much better than before.

11. 00:45:874 (2,3) - improve this sliders so it can flow more in a circular way
I feel like it already flows circularly pretty well but I sliiightly tweaked it to be more smooth.

12. 00:47:382 (1,2) - make this circles closer... something like 00:15:239 (2,3,4), but with only 2 circles
Fixed, now it matches the time between them better.

13. 00:48:334 (4,5) - this sliders should be and look the same
Agreed, fixed.

14. 00:53:493 (2,3) - same reason as #11

15. 00:54:048 (3,4) - same reason as #13
Tried it but it doesn't flow at all right so I'm leaving it.

16. 01:08:334 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - i think this is ok, but can also work with sliders like 00:44:822 (2)
Tried sliders but I like the quadruplets more.

17. 01:10:001 (4) - dont do that. keep using circles and/or sliders instead of a long slider.
Done, it's a bit tougher but it's a bit better I think. Might need more fixing since it's a bit confusing in my opinion.

18. 01:12:382 (1,2,3) - 01:12:382 (1,2,3) - i dont know about this, but in my opinion you should keep mapping this part like you did in the rest of the song.

00:16:072 (6) - this slider should start here 00:16:191 - , as there is no notable impact on the blue tick, but an omitted strong one on the white tick. Vocals start there too.
Also, you need to consider whether you want to make this a short stream, and get rid of the slider altogether, or if you wanna make this a repeat-slider, as there is another omitted sound here 00:16:548 - However, it seems to me as if the best way, that would go along with your map the most neat would be something like this : https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/9067813

00:17:144 (2,3,4) - don't know about this, no sound here 00:17:263 -

00:17:977 (6) - this one is basically the same issueas above, however I do see what you were trying to express here. I would still recommend changing it for the sake of consistency, as the example above cannot be justified imo. One suggestion would be moving the slider back to the next white tick, make it a 1/4 and then place a circle here 00:17:977 (6) - instead.

Also 00:18:453 - omitted sound

00:20:953 (3,4,5) - again, no sound here 00:21:072 -

00:21:667 (2) - make this a 1/4 slider, it fits the type of rhythm you were going for better since 00:21:786 - also has sound and is imo best expressed passively
Also make 00:21:905 (3) - a 1/4 slider accordingly

00:23:810 (4,1) - this too. you omit sounds here 00:24:048 - and here 00:24:286 -
00:23:810 (4) - I would make this a repeat to cover 00:24:048 - and place a circle on 00:24:167 (1) - , then move the slider back here 00:24:286 - to cover this sound as well (of course shorten it, so it ends on the same tick as before)

There is a sound on an 1/8th here 00:25:417 - and afterwards there are a few more quick 1/8 doubles/triples.
However I think they would be a bit awkward to play, so I'd solve it along the lines of this instead.
00:25:239 (3) - make this a repeat, to somewhat cover the 1/8th
00:25:596 - add an additional circle here
Of course if you can come up with a better idea that would neat :idea:

00:28:572 (3,4,5) - y tripleeeee no soundoooo 00:28:691 -

00:30:001 (1,1,1,1,1,2,1,2) - This section is very unfitting to say the least. Why less dense rhythms if the song clearly just got more intense with the extra instrument added?
If you map it in about the same way you handled the beginning, plus maybe increase difficulty just a bit, that would be a lot better than dropping off like that for no reason.

I will now stop listing every little detail I found, and instead mod the kiai, especially the first part as a whole.
You chose to follow the new sounds here, which is fine, since they are pretty dominant, however it is not a reason to completely discard all other aspects of the song. It is the kiai section! The climax! You can't just have this section rhythmically less dense than the beginning, which is not as intense at all! You omitted a lot of other sounds you could have mapped, to fit the songs intensity in this section in your pursuit of only mapping
the newly introduced sounds. while I agree that they should be a cornerstone of this section, they should not be the only thing you express.

The second part starting here 01:00:477 (1) - I liked a lot more I actually loved most of it :)

There is one little thing I would change though

I agree with somehow splitting the stream starting here 01:03:810 (1) - up at this 01:04:524 (1) -
this 01:05:001 (1) - and this point 01:05:477 (1) - it fits the 1/6 quadruplets later on well too.
However the sound is continuous, and having pauses inbetween feels wrong. Why not have every last note of every group be a 1/4 slider, therefore giving the feel of continuity, while still making it fairly easy to snap between groups.

Visuals

As the other mod said, improve the visuals all around the map. Here are a few tips:
  • Use copy+paste to have objects that represent the same sound look the same easily. You can then roatete objects by pressing ctrl+shift+r
    This guide shows how to make neat slidershapes. Definitely worth a look! https://osu.ppy.sh/forum/t/208596
    to prevent cluttering and give your map an overall better aesthetic and feeling, assign notes that belong to the same line of music to a pattern
    There also a few videos on this out there, though I do not have a link right now, so you'll have to look for that yourself if you want to.


Spacing

Since you will probably change a lot of this map to make it visually more appealing, I will not look for individual ds of notes. I'll rather give a few general tips.
Spacing should (except for easy and normal where time-distance equality is used) always reflect the intensity of a sound, and the part of a song in general. The more intense, the higher the spacing. It should be consistent throughout your map, so I would recommend trying to sort the different sections of the song you want to map beforehand, and to get an idea of how intense the song/rhythm are in each section, in relation to the other sections. Then you can go ahead and manage slider-velocity and spacing accordingly. Note that increasing slider velocity also increases spacing. Example: Distance snap 1.3 + slider velocity 1.00 spaces notes further than 1.3 and 0.80.This prevents running the risk of later on having to double check every note for correct ds. If you already knew all of this I am very sorry to have wasted your time.

I like the song and I believe you can turn this into a fine map. I would love to see it ranked one day! Good luck on your way as a mapper. Enjoy game.

I'm not a fan of the way you did it in the example, but I agree the sound doesn't match up with the map so I changed it to sliders and fixed up the timing around there.

There is a noticeable difference in the instrument I follow (I think it's an electric synth piano or something) that plays the beat I follow, so while it isn't the same as the last combo, the music is different and I am matching that.

Hmm while that is true I have tried it various ways without that note there and it is always extremely bland and doesn't play well. I really like the way that extra note makes the map play.

I knowww but again this is consistent with the previous sections 00:20:001 (3,4,5,3,4,5) and I hate how it flows without those notes, I think they are necessary.

So I totally get this, but the music is introducing a new instrument and here is the beginning of the build-up to the "drop"/chorus, so I want there to be a distinct change in the mapping. By bringing in these long sliders, they can gradually be shortened as it builds up more, plus they give the player a chance to prepare for the chorus.

While I don't think it is too viable to fit in more sounds without making the difficulty too excessive for what I'm going for, but I agree there were a few parts too rhythmically sparse so I added more sounds - namely 00:50:953 (1,2,3,4) and 00:58:572 (1,2,3)

Yeah I had too many notes "copied" by hand but I went through my map to try to reuse different rotations and arrangements of the same notes to improve visuals.

I knew the basic strategy of the spacing reflecting intensity and I tried to follow it as best as possible, but I'm sure I could have done a little better (not sure where though, I think it's pretty good). Thanks for the information though!

I think you are new to this cartography (like me), but your map should have a lot of effort, there are a lot of things you can improve, fix and position, adjust that bpm well and give it all, the crazy one, I really do not like the truth, the same with the normal difficulty, I think you should adjust it if you want to classify it, although if this map is practical, I hope you work more on your next map, I trust you, I know you can do it ;)

    Offset was adjusted to not be negative, but the first time you gave doesn't even correspond to a downbeat, I just used the first downbeat after the start.

    This one is a standard loop with a teardrop shaped gap, from what I have read this is the best way to make loops. Or is there something else about it that isn't appealing?

    This is beat snapped to match the distance between the sliders, which have the same rhythmic time between them.
  10. 00:50:477 (4,1) - try to improve this
    Good catch, improved the flow.

    Bpm changed like Normal. AR for Insane is 7-9 I think and this is in the middle of Insane star difficulty, so I think 8 makes a bit more sense. 9 is decent though.
  2. is an insane, not an extra, you should lower the slider speed to 1.70 / 1.60
    Since the BPM isn't insane on this song, a lower slider speed is dis proportionally easy imo.
  3. 00:16:191 (4) - ehm ... this slider should get here 00:16:429 -
    I decided to add another note at 00:16:429 and leave the slider ending at the same spot, since there is actually a sound playing at both of those times. A lot nicer than before ^^

Hmm I have seen similar quadruplets to this before in a few maps I believe, I could always use reversing sliders but that would take away a lot from the dramatic ending imo.
I think you are new to this cartography (like me), but your map should have a lot of effort, there are a lot of things you can improve, fix and position, adjust that bpm well and give it all, the crazy one, I really do not like the truth, the same with the normal difficulty, I think you should adjust it if you want to classify it, although if this map is practical, I hope you work more on your next map, I trust you, I know you can do it ;)

Yeah it's not the same as the others, but if you listen to the synth piano sound, it plays a different pattern than the other times, which is reflected by my mapping.

Good catch! That was a tough jump compared to the rest, improved.

Sorry, how is it not allowed? It fits everything I see in the ranking criteria, could you please point out what is wrong with it?
