I might try and mod your Hyper difficulty some point later, but I have other stuff to mod and it's pretty low difficulty, and inherently hard for me to mod.
Fly Away
00:02:644 - There's a distinct noise here which you could use for a slider leading into 00:03:333 (1) maybe. Slider points could be 00:02:644 to 00:02:989 .
00:06:092 (1) - The slider shape that you use here is rather odd. I suggest keeping it simple, and relying on the hitsound to convey the sound correctly. Also, you could get away with something like a simple bezier, rather than your squiggle.
00:08:851 (1) - slider shape is a bit uneven. It's playable, just a bit of a visual distaste.
00:09:540 (2) - Move to (268,116) if you want it to lead from the slider.
00:11:609 (1) - Once again, this is a bit of an odd slider shape where the hitsounding can do the talking instead of the shape.
00:19:885 (1) - A "2" shaped slider uwu. This shape somewhat works for the latter half of the slider, but is a bit tacky.
00:22:644 (1) - Another slider where the shape can be made simpler, as the hitsounds do a good enough job of demonstrating what the slider does visually.
00:42:644 (4,5,6,7) - Looks like you might be trying to hard to make the song difficult. You could have kept with the sliders from before, and used jumps between the sound produced here and 00:43:851 (3,4,5,6,7).
00:43:851 (3,4,5,6,7) - Another case of using jumps where they aren't entirely necessary, though
00:44:713 (1) - From here you switch to sliders again, despite that nothing has actually changed rhythmically. To solve this issue of making sure you keep the consistency whilst also not creating an uninteresting, filler rhythm, can be done by using the sliders the same way as 00:38:334 (6,7) , but instead changing the slider direction and positioning.
00:47:471 (1,2) - This should probably be more emphasized than 00:47:816 (2,3) as the music has a greater emphasis at the first two of the combo, and therefore a greater intensity is at this part than the latter.
00:48:851 (6,7,8,9) - Feels a bit too jumpy for what it should be, maybe make it into equally spaced back and forths. Unsure on how to make this play much better without using complicated sliders.
00:50:230 (1,2,3) - Spacing here is ideal compared to 00:47:471 (1,2)
00:51:609 (6,7,8,9) - Feels like the jumps should be close to identical like the notes in the soundtrack, though this is preference.
00:54:368 (6,7,8,9) - Maybe try making more rotation with this to line up with 00:55:747 (1) a bit better.
00:58:506 (1,2,3,4) - Try and make these a little bit neater, maybe by making them into more of a square shape or something along those lines.
01:00:575 (5) - Make this a linear reverse slider, since later for this section you use solely linear sliders to represent the music.
01:01:265 (1,2,3,4) - Positions of these feel a bit random.
01:03:334 (5) - Like previous, this should be a linear reverse slider to keep the consistency up for this section of the music.
01:05:747 (7) - Make into Linear slider which points into 01:06:092 (8) rather than curving into it with a bezier slider. Alternatively, you could make the middle anchorpoint for the slider into a red one by shift+left clicking on the point.
01:07:471 (1,2,3,4) - You could make this into a kick slider and readjust the stream to fit. I only suggest this because its a ~4* map and the 174bpm stream might be a bit too challenging for some players to hold for 3 seconds. The map plays fine either way, and the kick slider would increase the amount of work required, but might be a good idea to experiment with, especially with more streamy, high bpm maps in the future.
01:15:058 (1) - Weird Slider shape again. Understandable why you did this, but maybe using a different, simpler slider shape with hitsounding could work better.
01:15:920 (3,4,5) - Not a huge fan of this shape you have going on here, try to keep to recognisable patterns, and tighter angles - note that wide angles like here are harder to play (as they require two directions of motion to aim each jump) and should be used where appropriate :)
01:17:816 (1) - Another weirdly shaped slider, although not as bad as some of the previous.
01:23:334 (1,2,3) - Consider which notes you want to emphasize and by how much if any of them have additional focus in the track. No point just placing jumps into a sharp(ish) triangle if it doesn't really match the song that well. It also doesn't really lead into 01:23:851 (4) at all >.<
01:26:609 (5,6) - Two more pretty weirdly shaped sliders. Try not to rely on using complicated slider patterns, especially on higher slider velocities and lower SR maps/
01:30:230 (1) - Very messy slider. A wavy slider could be used here to generate the same effect.
01:33:506 (4,5) - These two sliders have very close timings but still quite a bit of spacing. Consider overlapping the sliders if it makes the map play better.
01:35:747 (1,2,3) - Should have just left these as a stack, that or you could have made them into a back and forth
01:36:265 (4,5) - Once again, the spacing and timing makes this a bit awkward to play
01:44:368 (2,3,4,5) - I like how you deal with the issue above like this. It plays quite nice and looks decent enough.
01:46:954 and 01:47:299 are lacking notes, despite there being very clear hitsounds here. You could map these as would be appropriate, or make 01:46:782 (1) and 01:47:127 (2) into linear 1/2 sliders.
01:53:506 (6) - Another weird slider. This works and is at the end, so the shape likely won't make a huge impact on gameplay.
General
Good first attempt as hitsounding, it helps with playing the maps, though you sometimes opt to rely more on slidershape rather than hitsounding (as mentioned in the Fly Away Mod).
I feel like there's maybe a bit too much emphasis at parts, but that's something you'll pick up over time

ahh, thanks so much! the reason why there were so many weird sliders is cause i liked how strange they were, but i guess you're right and they don't fit in the music >:( i also kind of gave up on hitsounding but am planning on going at it again later on. i applied pretty much everything you suggested. again, huge thanks for all the help! (ps. how do you give more than one kudosu...?)

My mod isn't worth more than 1 kudosu anyways so don't worry, but multiple kudosu can be given if a map has not had any thread posts for over 7 days. Also, it's nice to see that you are experimenting with things like the strange sliders, it's something i rarely do in the unfinished projects I have. Your hitsounding was pretty good for a first map :)

Lets see what you have:

Normal
1. even tho there are some parts that actually look ok, i will link you this https://osu.ppy.sh/help/wiki/Difficulties/osu!/Normal?locale=en. This thread will help you to know how to make a normal diff, what settings you should use and stuff like that. Also, in a normal diff, big spacings arent welcome :P, this means that the objects should be closer to each other

2. 00:02:644 (1,1) - do something like this https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/8798488

3. 00:03:307 (1,2,3,4) - spacing is kinda too much for just a normal, reduce it a bit more, but just a bit

4. 00:14:340 (1,2) - separate them a bit more, since they are too close

5. 00:21:926 (4,5,1) - you can make this a straight line, or make it a curve

6. 00:24:685 (4,1) - make the same thing i told you on 00:02:644 (1,1)

7. 00:36:409 (1) - you have a problem with a inherit point in that slider, you should fix it

8. after the brake, some sliders end on a blue tick, and that doesnt look quite nice on a normal diff, so please make those sliders end in the white tick

9. other problem i saw is that most of the sliders have irregular spacing between them, please fix this and give them an equal spacing.

10. 00:40:547 (3) - the second gray dot should be in the center of the slider, kinda like this https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/8798612, also, move that slider to x316-y:72, so it flows better with 00:41:581 (5)

11. 00:47:443 (1,2,3,4) - this objects should have the same spacing between them

12. 00:51:581 (5,6) - the second slider doesnt fit well like that, please fix the curve of it and also separate it a bit more from the first slider

14. 00:58:478 (1,2,3,4) - this circles doesnt have the same spacing between them, you should give them a quick look

17. 01:09:512 (1) - you have a problem with a inherit point here, so fix it

3. 01:19:857 (7) - you can improve the curve of this slider moving the second gray dot a bit more down, adjusting it to make it look better

6. 01:53:478 (12) - instead of a slider, put a circle here

2. 00:08:823 (1) - it would sound better if this slider ends on the red tick

4. 00:19:857 (1) - fix the curve of this slider by moving and adjusting the position of the second gray dot

5. 00:19:168 (4,5,1) - give this objects the same spacing between them

6. 00:42:961 (5,6) - you placed a circle in the same time the slider ends, delete the circle

7. there are some of the maps that you should check, where the spacing is too weird, but this is just saying

8. 01:07:099 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - you should make this stream a bit more clean, so it doesnt have those weird bumps like 01:07:357 (4,1), 01:08:047 (4,1) and 01:08:823 (1,2)

9. 01:30:202 (1) - put the second gray dot in the middle of the slider, so it can flow better.

10. 01:44:340 (2,3,4) - this is not good, put the circle "4" more closer to the circle "3"

Hey, I saw you posted your map in my queue! Since it's your first map, rather than posting a detailed mod, I chose to go over it in a more general manner since, from my experience, that is often more helpful for new mappers than nitpicking individual errors.

[Fly Away]

  1. 00:02:644 (1) - there are some unsnapped objects in your map, you can see that when they aren't snapped to a tick in the timeline at the top of the editor like so:
    image. Perhaps open AImod under the file menu to check more of these errors.
  2. 00:42:961 (5,6) - There are two objects on the same tick in this place. Remove the note at 00:43:133 (6) -, it's unrankable and impossible to play xD
  3. A short lesson on structure/spacing: Oftentimes strong sounds that start on a new measure like 00:11:581 (1) - here feel nice to the player when the spacing correlates to that strong sound in the music. Spacing these strong objects (which you already identified correctly by using NC's on those) further away from your regular patterning with a jump/harsh direction change will emphasize those sounds. In the example of 00:11:581 (1) - , we could do something like this.
  4. Likewise, sounds that ''belong'' to each other in the music (yes it sounds a bit vague, but thats how mapping theory mostly is xD) like 00:48:306 (4,5) - , would be more accurately portrayed by grouping them together in the map as well like so. This is because right now your visual distance between these objects 00:48:133 (3,4,5) - is the same, while 00:48:478 (5) - appears much faster than 00:48:306 (4) - does, making it unpredictable to read for the player. The same goes for patterns like this 00:50:892 (3,4,5) -
  5. Another short thing on curves/aesthetics: Sliders like 00:19:857 (1) - have very harsh/sharp curves, which usually look a bit off in shape to most people. To make these curves look smoother, we can drag the white point down, to the middle of the other two points, like this. Doing this consistently will clean up your slidershapes a lot.
  6. 01:06:754 (1,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1) - That was really neat, especially for in your first map. The comboing, escalation and shape are on point. Really well done ^^
  7. Rhythm: 01:10:892 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - sometimes, such as here, I'm not exactly sure what you're following in the music. The drums have a different pattern than what you mapped here, and if you'd follow the synth you'd better be off using sliders (because they are long, held sounds) instead. Perhaps give that a thought?
Overall, I'm impressed this was your first attempt! You've got a lot of things going already, NC structure is mostly correct and makes sense, most of the rhythm is also on point and your stream shapes are better than my first maps could ever hope to be. Keep mapping, I think you have potential! :D

This thread will help you to know how to make a normal diff, what settings you should use and stuff like that. Also, in a normal diff, big spacings arent welcome :P, this means that the objects should be closer to each other

8. after the brake, some sliders end on a blue tick, and that doesnt look quite nice on a normal diff, so please make those sliders end in the white tick

9. other problem i saw is that most of the sliders have irregular spacing between them, please fix this and give them an equal spacing.

10. 00:40:547 (3) - the second gray dot should be in the center of the slider, kinda like this https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/8798612, also, move that slider to x316-y:72, so it flows better with 00:41:581 (5)

11. 00:47:443 (1,2,3,4) - this objects should have the same spacing between them

Hey, I saw you posted your map in my queue! Since it's your first map, rather than posting a detailed mod, I chose to go over it in a more general manner since, from my experience, that is often more helpful for new mappers than nitpicking individual errors.

  1. 00:02:644 (1) - there are some unsnapped objects in your map, you can see that when they aren't snapped to a tick in the timeline at the top of the editor like so:
    image. Perhaps open AImod under the file menu to check more of these errors.
  2. 00:42:961 (5,6) - There are two objects on the same tick in this place. Remove the note at 00:43:133 (6) -, it's unrankable and impossible to play xD
  3. A short lesson on structure/spacing: Oftentimes strong sounds that start on a new measure like 00:11:581 (1) - here feel nice to the player when the spacing correlates to that strong sound in the music. Spacing these strong objects (which you already identified correctly by using NC's on those) further away from your regular patterning with a jump/harsh direction change will emphasize those sounds. In the example of 00:11:581 (1) - , we could do something like this.
  4. Likewise, sounds that ''belong'' to each other in the music (yes it sounds a bit vague, but thats how mapping theory mostly is xD) like 00:48:306 (4,5) - , would be more accurately portrayed by grouping them together in the map as well like so. This is because right now your visual distance between these objects 00:48:133 (3,4,5) - is the same, while 00:48:478 (5) - appears much faster than 00:48:306 (4) - does, making it unpredictable to read for the player. The same goes for patterns like this 00:50:892 (3,4,5) -
  5. Another short thing on curves/aesthetics: Sliders like 00:19:857 (1) - have very harsh/sharp curves, which usually look a bit off in shape to most people. To make these curves look smoother, we can drag the white point down, to the middle of the other two points, like this. Doing this consistently will clean up your slidershapes a lot.
  6. 01:06:754 (1,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1) - That was really neat, especially for in your first map. The comboing, escalation and shape are on point. Really well done ^^
  7. Rhythm: 01:10:892 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - sometimes, such as here, I'm not exactly sure what you're following in the music. The drums have a different pattern than what you mapped here, and if you'd follow the synth you'd better be off using sliders (because they are long, held sounds) instead. Perhaps give that a thought?
Overall, I'm impressed this was your first attempt! You've got a lot of things going already, NC structure is mostly correct and makes sense, most of the rhythm is also on point and your stream shapes are better than my first maps could ever hope to be. Keep mapping, I think you have potential! :D

Also, I'll mod your map as a whole rather than individual things that need to be fixed as I do with other new mappers because this helps more rather than presenting you a huge list of what you did that I suggest you need to change or is unrankable. :)

This diff is good but the only thing that needs to be fixed is structure (what a lot of new mappers get wrong) and some extra polish to the map. I suggest checking other normal diffs to get a better idea of how people map normal diffs.

Ok so small sliders like 00:51:369 are really uncomfortable because they are small but if they were big, this wouldn't be a problem. I've seen a lot of new mappers do this for some reason (or maybe it's fine and only I find it uncomfortable.) Try exchanging these sliders with something more comfortable.

01:07:302 You have a lot of areas where the spacing is way too small and uncomfortable (which most of the time includes ^). It's okay to have small spacing but in these sections they aren't and it would be better if they were more spaced. If it was more spaced in this section leading to the stream, it would be more intense like the build up in the song.

01:00:547 (5) - should jsut be two circles on the white ticks, no reason to make a repeating slider. 01:03:306 (5) - this one is okay since there's actually a sound on the red tick.
01:03:306 (5,6,7,1) - why is the spacing here so close all of the sudden. the whole pattern is really clustered in this one spot.
01:08:823 (1,2,3,4,1) - the whole stream looks nice and smooth except this part. the curvature of the stream including the slider is weird.

Spacing is weird in many parts, try to use spacing as a way to emphasize sounds; Louder it is, bigger the spacing. Also try to create more symmetrical patterns so the whole map structure looks cleaner. sliders like 01:52:788 (4,5) - looks randomly placed. Blankets are also a good way to make the map look cleaner and more structured.

I recommend NCing every measure, like 00:37:788 - 00:40:547 - it just becomes a long chain without any NCs like you did 00:43:306 - 00:44:685 - 00:46:064 - etc etc. NC should be consistent.

Why not make 00:02:616 (1) - a 1/1 slider?
00:03:305 (1,2) - make this a 2/1 slider, mapping a circle every half a measure is kinda dull. Try to create some variance and follow the electric melody

  1. First of all, I'll have to say you need a lot of work on the map's quality before this can be pushed for rank. But I can understand this is your beginning of your mapping career so take it slowly, or take it harshly if you want drastic changes (But let's be honest, it takes real time to improve, not just a day or two.)
  2. If you didn't know, you can tune in to pishifat's mapping videos on how to properly map. After that, take his advice the next time you map
  3. Consistent rhythm is a must on lower diff (Easy diff and Normal diff). This ensures an optimal experience on this game's fundametal features : clicking circles on the music, that is done consistently
  4. What is also important is flow. Or in a easier terms, cursor movement. It helps the player feel the music as they click the circles. Failing to comply this would cause serious problem in interpreting the music in whole

Easy
  1. As per mentioned earlier. Rhythm is inconsistent. A big issue in Easy diff. Another issue is the fact that you're using syncopates (1/2 rhythm) as an active rhythm (clickable rhythm) surely causes confusion for new players. Last of all is the star rating which I think, is a bit too high for a tv size map.
  2. In addition to that. I noticed that in 01:09:512 (1) - is an sv change, at which, is strictly prohibited by the mapping guidelines. So if you can fix it, then you'll be good, at least
  3. 00:02:616 (1,1,2) - I am questioned with this spacing and rhythm. Because 00:02:616 (1,1) - is a normal 1/1 rhythm with a normal spacing, while 00:03:305 (1,2) - acts as the same, separated by a 1/1 tick on 00:04:340 - . I understand that there is no sound on 00:04:340 - but with the spacing like this, please fix it.
  4. 00:58:478 (1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4) - Inconsistent movement usually leads to confusing flows, that questions even newbies. Either make 01:01:237 (1,2,3,4) - backtrack to 00:58:478 (1,2,3,4) - or make it a new section, which does not/overlaps a little with 00:58:478 (1,2,3,4) -
  5. 01:52:961 (4) - Extend this to 01:53:478 -

Light Insane
  1. Structure here looks unpolished. Spacing on circles and sliders are messed up, making the map a hell of a mess in aesthetic
  2. 01:19:685 (2) - Remove circle. Would emphasize 01:19:857 (3) - more if no other rhythm is present.
  3. 01:21:926 (1,2,3,4) - First half, it's sliders, which is good. But reaching this part makes this part inconsistent as a whole. The kiai meant to be the map's hyped part, yet this kind of rhythm is filled, killing the buildup you built before the kiai. My suggestion would be adding circles on the red tick or adding a slider
  4. 01:31:409 - add a circle here
  5. 01:44:512 (4,5,6) - the sections before doesn't seem to have triplets, yet you add them when it's already second part of the section. Maybe add triplets from the beginning would be better?

both objectively, and subjectively, I think this map needs more polishing if you decide to rank it.

This map is very well made, but there are still some problems with it

00:04:685 (3,4,5) - These could form a perfect triangle, but instead it is this weird shape. it is a perfect triangle
00:08:823 (1,2) - Finish should be on the circle not the slider end (Hitsound).
00:56:409 (3,4,5) - Here I think you should try this instead. kept it the way it was
01:05:719 (3) - Why is this one randomly red anchor turned while the rest are straight?
01:30:892 (2) - This slider is kind of sloppy, try this.
01:32:616 (6) - This one needs to have hitsounds from the normal soundpool.
01:50:892 (1,2,3,4) - There is no sound in the music that requires this giant difficulty spike.

why is this the only difficulty with different combo colors

Many of the general points in this apply to your upper difficulties as well.

jack1817 is incorrect. the lowest difficulty only needs to be below 2 stars. All it means if it's above 1.5 is that it will not have an Easy icon on the website.
That said, this IS pretty hard for its place in the spread.

A big part of this is that there is often inconsistent spacing, which can be confusing and difficult to read for entry-level players.
I reccomend remapping rather than anything else. It would be easier than going through and finding every offspacing and having to adjust potentially entire patterns to fix it anyways.

00:36:409 (1,2) - patterns like this are very misleading too. the visual spacing of 1 and 2 ends up very close together despite the long time gap.

It can cause a player to misread it as being played like the linked image illustrates. Try to keep your patterns more simple and straightforward.
I think it's a cool idea in general though, definitely try to implement it elsewhere in the future :)

01:01:237 (1,2,3) - Similar to the above, this spacing could cause them to see it as (1,3) being 1/1 apart and clicked in that order. Someone newer tends to focus on a smaller part of the screen, so an object more out of the way like 2 is may not be noticed.
00:58:478 (1,2,3,4) - is good, it's very straightforward and the 3/2 rhythm is fairly easy to read.

01:05:374 (3,2) - Generally avoid overlaps like these unless they are meant for a specific concept or theme in the map. Having them out of nowhere like this makes it just look kind of unorganized and random.

This difficulty is better about it, but still has quite a few spacing issues. Be sure to go through and double check them.


00:11:581 (1) - you have quite a few bezier sliders like this throughout normal. Normally 3-point sliders (beginning, middle, end) follow a formula that make them perfect curves. adding more points turns them into beziers. sometimes 3 point sliders behave like beziers by mistake, causing their curves to look "off"
other example: 00:17:099 (1) -
00:03:305 (1,2,3,4) - how come you mapped the soft highhats and ignored the more prominent, louder instrument that is carrying the melody at 00:05:030 - 00:05:374 - 00:05:719 -

I reccomend a rhythm like this to ensure that the player is clicking to the most important and noticable parts of the song. This is true for the rest of the kiai as well, though of course you can vary it as you see fit.

This difficulty is better about it, but still has quite a few spacing issues. Be sure to go through and double check them.


00:11:581 (1) - you have quite a few bezier sliders like this throughout normal. Normally 3-point sliders (beginning, middle, end) follow a formula that make them perfect curves. adding more points turns them into beziers. sometimes 3 point sliders behave like beziers by mistake, causing their curves to look "off"

00:03:305 (1,2,3,4) - how come you mapped the soft highhats and ignored the more prominent, louder instrument that is carrying the melody at 00:05:030 - 00:05:374 - 00:05:719 -

I reccomend a rhythm like this to ensure that the player is clicking to the most important and noticable parts of the song. This is true for the rest of the kiai as well, though of course you can vary it as you see fit. i changed that and throughout the kiai... not sure if i made it better but i changed it...

00:05:719 - why the finish hitsound..? In general, maybe do your hitsounds by following the song's percussion pattern. That can help keep it simple and easy to keep track of o:

  1. Some part of the map is very confusing for new players because it have constant DS, you need to use constant DS in easy diff (use AI Mod for more DS error xd)
    I won't talk about DS since this line because AI Mod will help you
  2. Your NC on this diff look kinda confusing, I'd recommend you to NC every 2 downbeat for all parts
  3. 00:14:340 (1,1) - avoid overlap like this in lower diff, it needs to be clear
  4. 00:15:374 (2,2) - this overlap is kinda meh too lol
  5. 00:14:340 (1,2) - you used a reverse slider for rhythm like this before why change to this
  6. 00:19:857 (1,2,3) - 00:22:616 (1,2,3) - why change to 3 circles this time? something like 00:06:064 (1) - would fit. Rhythm change so suddenly that new player will miss
  7. 00:39:168 (1,1) - another overlap lol
  8. 00:41:237 (2,1) - 404 blanket not found
  9. 00:43:995 (3,4) - you can fix this blanket by remove reverse of 00:43:995 (3) - , change snap to 1/4, scroll up a bit and tada

  4. 00:47:443 (1,2) - 00:50:202 (1,2) - 00:52:961 (1,2) - 00:55:719 (1,2) - imo, I'd make them to a slider because those doesn't have the same sound with 00:48:133 (3,4) - (and so on), swap (keep (1,2) circle and make (3,4) slider) would be fine
  5. 01:15:374 (2,3) - why not make them like the previous one?
  6. 01:15:892 (3,4,5) - related to the DS issue mentioned above, this is way tooo far for a normal diff, this is a pattern for a hard diff
