in my opinion, you need to keep in mind this thing for mapsets : you must always have high quality assets. (except for mp3 that needs to be between 128 and 192kb/s)

anyway, i reworked the backgrounds (removed black bars) and upscaled them with Waifu2X (upscaling algorythm that basicly makes upscales without quality losses)

Hi, from queue.

General:
  1. The image dimensions of the BG aren’t recommended. Try any of these dimensions instead: 1024X768, 1366X768, 1920X1080, 1920X1200 (may not be bigger than this)
  2. The soft-hitnormal88 has a delay and it’s also shorter than 100ms which is unrankable. I suggest finding a replacement hitsound that’s both the correct length and also doesn’t have a delay.
  3. From 01:05:556 – to 01:10:966 – there is no kiai time but the chorus is in that section. I think it’s a mistake. There should be kiai time in that section as well. This applies to all diffs.
  4. Rather add a soft-sliderslide soundfile and not a slidertick soundfile (both may not be added) The reason is because the sliderslides can be heard much more than the sliderticks so it would be better to silence the sliderslides instead.
  5. The hitsounds (especially in the Insane) is quite overpowering since you are using normal-hitsound for the entire map. Using soft-sampleset is usually preffered since it doesn’t drown out the music. You can try something else of course, just try something that’s not too loud.
Insane:
  1. Uncheck the epilepsy warning. There’s no SB and also inconsistent with the other diffs.
  2. A HP of 5 is a bit too low for an Insane imo. Rather raise it to 6.
  3. 00:00:228 –This green line is unnecessary. I think you tried to lower the volume of the sliderbody but it won’t have an effect. Remove it.
  4. 00:01:376 –Same goes for this line. It’s also unnecessary so you can remove it.
  5. 00:00:147 (1) –The volume of this slider should be lowered. The music is very soft but the slider itself is quite loud. Lower it to 10% or perhaps 8%. This includes the head of the slider, reverse and the tail.
  6. 00:00:147 (1) –Tbh the slider don’t really follow anything specific. I’m referring mostly to the reverse. It lands on nothing in particular. The slider looks a bit forced. I suggest removing the slider and replacing it with a spinner instead. A spinner will support the music better. This applies to the other diffs too if applicable.
  7. 00:03:917 (1) –The jump should rather be at this slider and not at this circle: 00:03:753 (5) – since the stronger beat is on the head of 00:03:917 (1) – To fix this you can just decrease the spacing of (5), like this:
  8. 00:05:884 (3,4) –You placed a jump here but not here: 00:06:212 (5,6) – It looks rather inconsistent if there’s a jump at (4) but the other similar beats (5) and (6) don’t have jumps. I suggest placing a jump at 00:06:212 (5,6) – as well for consistency.
  9. 00:07:032 (2) –The beat on this circle is a bit passive, meaning a big jump isn’t really necessary since it doesn’t have to be emphasized. Rather decrease the spacing in order to support the music’s intensity better.
  10. 00:07:196 (3,4,5) –A slider in the place of these three circles will follow the music better since there’s a long beat in the music. Like this:
  11. 00:08:015 (1) –Same as 00:03:917 (1) – The beat on 00:08:015 (1) – is much louder so it’ll make more sense if the jump is bigger here than at 00:07:851 (8) – Just decrease the spacing of (8) a bit to fix this problem. Like this:
  12. 00:08:343 (3) –The jump should rather be here and not on 00:08:179 (2) – since the beat is a bit stronger on (3).
  13. 00:08:999 (5) –There isn’t really a beat on (5) to support a jump. Rather space (5) out normally. It doesn’t need emphasis.
  14. 00:11:294 (4) –The beat on the head of this slider is rather important and stacking it under 00:11:130 (3) – isn’t really a good idea since it takes away that important emphasis. Rather unstack it and space it out to support that strong beat.
  15. 00:28:343 (4,5,6) –Rather decrease the spacings here. Placing sudden jumps will look inconsistent since there isn’t really jumps like these in the previous part of this calmer section.
  16. 00:30:474 (1,2,3,4) –The jumps don’t support the vocals. They are rather calm so the best way to support that is to have smaller spacings too. Plus having circles here don’t really fit. Sliders would be better.
  17. 00:33:589 (3,4,5,6) – and 00:37:196 (2,3,4,1,2,3) – Same as above. The jumps don’t really fit including the circles. Sliders might fit in better.
  18. 00:34:901 (1) –Removing new combo here and rather add it here: 00:35:556 (4) – for consistency with the previous NC’ing patterns.

I’m gonna stop here for Insane to avoid the mod getting too long. The biggest issue is the spacings. It’s important to maintain consistency and also to support the intensity of the music correctly with the jumps/no jumps. But this is something that most mappers struggle with. Also, rather don’t add circles at places where it doesn’t really work. (specifically vocals) The music should have clear beats for circles.

Hard:
  1. For HP a 5 would be better imo.
  2. You can uncheck widescreen support since there’s no SB.
  3. 00:05:392 (1,2,3) –This rhythm/pattern looks a bit uncomfortable since both sliders are straight and placed a bit weird and also because (2)’s tail is right at the end of the grid. Try something different. Perhaps something like this:
  4. 00:08:015 (1,2) –Tbh this pattern don’t really look that good. I know you tried something different but it can be improved. Flow can also be a bit uncomfortable since 00:08:507 (2) – this flow goes backwards from 00:08:015 (1) –
  5. 00:19:655 (1) –The new combo shouldn’t be placed here but rather here: 00:20:146 (2) –
  6. 00:21:786 (2,1) –Increase the spacing between these two objects otherwise players might see it as ½ rhythm and click it earlier.
  7. 00:23:261 (3,1) –Same here as well. Players might misread it.
  8. 00:23:753 (3,4) –Rather make both these sliders’ shapes similar for aesthetics. It will fit in nicely and support each other.
  9. 00:41:786 (1) –Place this slider closer to 00:41:458 (1) – so the pattern looks neater. I understand why you spaced it out further but it looks out of place. If you want it to work you’ll have to place all four like a circle. 00:41:786 (1) – looks out of place atm.

The only thing that really bothered me in the Normal is the combo’s. Rather add a new combo every second measure otherwise you’ll have too many combo’s. I’ll give suggestions:

    I'll keep it the way it is, but change things around with a pentagon. There is a violin and a downbeat there, so I wanted to map it out.

Thanks a lot for the mod, Nya!! I am remappingrevising the Insane as you have pointed out, so my response is taking quite a while. Overall, I agree with most of your mods--some are what other modders pointed out too XD No comments = fixing

  1. silent slider is required for 00:00:147 (1) - imo It was originally like that, but more people suggested spinners. I eventually agreed to change :')
  2. 00:11:130 (3,4) - it is stacked, but 00:10:638 (1,2,5,6) - isn't. any reason why? I agree I don't have a clear enough reason...initially, I wanted to emphasize the white beat by stacking. I fixed 3,4 to be the same as the others
  3. 00:33:917 (5,6,1) - that flow from (5)-(6)-(1) is pretty weird for an angle and such spacing. i'd put (6) lower for better flow by its angle there I'll think about this for now!
  4. 00:36:212 (6,7,8) - mmm i'd just stack 00:36:540 (8) - tail on 00:35:884 (5) - tail better for not having it overlapped (that means (7) should be around somewhere between (6) and (8)) I did something else instead!

Overall, I changed the hitsound to soft sampleset. Still looking to fix the hitsound delay and sliderticks.
