My results while sitting:
1st attempt: 1 minute 9 seconds
2nd attempt: 1 minute 40 seconds
Not going to try for the third attempt since I'm a little dizzy now.

My lungs are unable to retain air for any given amount of time.
Anywhere between 30 seconds to 1 and a half minutes. It really depends whether or not I'm tired when I hold my breath.

I had a go just now, and broken the 3:00 mark. My head's a little dizzy now.

Just managed to hold it for 1m30, lying in bed with some motion. That's probably representative of how long I can usually hold my breath when at ease. Otherwise, I can barely last for a minute.
Technically you could die if you hold your breath long enough, but your brains will say "FUCK NO" and make you breathe again.
