DT is easier to farm, so why not set scores for them? That's fucking simple. That's why it's overweighted, it's so easy to fill you top scores with these, unless you actually make an effort to avoid pp maps and miss all that sweet pp. But it doesn't mean he doesn't make an effort to improve streaming too, just because there are no streamy hi-scores. If streams are overweighted at 5* then I'd be farming stream maps too.

Not related, but streaming consistency is also important (i.e. Can I push the buttons at the same speed for a long time).

Not much I can say but play faster maps. This said, don't play with DT for now. It'll make you spam during streams which is not what we want. Control is important.

Try to benchmark where you are now and go a little above that until you master the slightly higher standard. These maps can help benchmark, and I still use them for practice.

you're mostly right in that he won't need streams until then, however as someone who can't stream well for my rank I wish I had been working on this shit the whole time instead of basically starting from square one with streams recently, I can stream perfectly fine up to 180, and I can stream 190 ok, but 205+ is a mash fest and it's gonna require a lot of work to fix, for me

Off topic: I think DT PP is too much on Normal/Hard+DT. 5*+DT is where I think it's fine. Reason why is that Normal/Hard+DT is so similar to nomod PP farm maps. So, it's not a problem with DT, but with how you can farm PP. DT takes skill but not the same kind as HDHR

For what it's worth, the vast majority of 4* maps I've played so far involve streaming. So just practice more.

To improve stream speed i play faster bpm what i can't do. Work much better than practice what i can already do.
To improve stamina i just chose for example a 2k combo streams map, play it too the end and replay it lot of times more. Also take a long break If you feel tired or your hand/fingers/arm hurt.

You are free to download this firefox/chrome addon which shows what players lately played (both - quit and failed) and check what are my plays in last... weeks (if not months), and how many retries they have. I don't feel like sniping this maps since accuracy what I could get is not impressive enough for me which require me to improve it before I even start farming this 90 seconds map. Also, good point is that my aim is not on point for few of them - have to admit. Considering I don't take the ranking seriously which follows with more casual than serious gameplay time it's understandable.

Didn't even had Counter-clock world, ranked in 2016 where i already didn't bother to download maps due how garbage is mapping meta. Will take a look on it, jonathan so far provided quality material.

Your 90% of stream maps are 100? 200? let's say 300... my 90% of non-stream maps in range of 4* to 4,99* is counted in thousands.

At not even 1k pp he should focus on basic stuff - reading, aim, rhythm sense - not streaming.
Streaming is NOT a basic ability required to progress in this game for newbies. Streaming will not hold him till 3-4k pp at all, bursting comes naturally and that is what you require to get 5k+pp from what I know right now.
If you want to stream, you need to know how this game works.

It starts with 140bpm, though. And the gap between OPs 130bpm streamspeed and short 160bpms streams in Miracle-Hinacle is not too big, pretty sure it's the ideal map for him, if not Din Don Dan is great too and 140bpm.
