Hey everyone!
I wanted to ask you guys if you think it's normal that there are beatmaps that I can't really get a good combo/acc on even though they are in my skill range, which is 4-4.7 star and sometimes 5 star?
I feel a little insecure. :?
Thank you for reading. :)

No some maps are ezpz and some are bullshit even if they're in the same star range. Idk why but 4 star maps with cs4 are 1000x easier than 4 star maps with cs6 for example. Also the difference between 4.5 star maps and 5 star maps is also 1000x :?

So you're saying that it's normal that there are beatmaps that are very weird that i can't complete?

It depends, could be fatigue from long time playing, your mentality, skillset etc. (too many variables) or maybe your just playing maps with patterns that your weaknesses lies in (if you see maps that you can't complete those are probably tech maps)

We're humans, even if you can be consistent at times there's bound to be a time where you fall and lose that feel. Everyone experiences the same and deal with them differently (some take a break for a while, watch replays, change skin, watch cat picture lul etc.)
Just enjoy game, I stopped caring about pp right after a 150k player wreck me in a tech map
I don't really suggest you taking on 5* seriously yet but your choice

Alright, thanks for taking the time to answer me.
The part about weaknesses is true, I do have some weaknesses that I'm working on to improve.
It's true that sometimes I just play really bad for no reason, which is very frustrating, but usually I regain my skill in a short amount of time.
I'm a bit of a worrywart so when I encounter a problem, I usually become pretty stressed out and the first thing that comes to my mind is "I SUCK".
I need to learn how to fix my mentality so I won't bring myself down by having negative thoughts.

When it comes to star rating, the difficulty it defines is very broad. There are 4 star maps that are more difficult than 5 star. Don't worry about it

it definitely depends on a map... after all, scarlet rose is 5.2 stars
I passed Airman and Highscore (7 stars) before I passed scarlet rose.

I have lot's of A at +6* maps and lot of pass at more than 7* and i have lot of 4* maps with C ranks and some 3* what i can't even pass.
The star ratting it's very bad sometimes.
Also it depends on what skills you have. For example you can be god playing jumps but you can't do an easy stream. So you can pass a lot of 7* full jump maps but you will die playing some 3* what have lot of streams.
I play better high bpm DT 3-4* than low bpm 2-3* DT because i follow better the rythm. There are a lot of things more than star ratting.

I played almost all 4* maps and yes, you just discovered that the 4* range has lots of variety, different mapping styles and some of them actually require (a "unique") skill.
Sadly most people skip those maps and miss out on lots of fun. I strongly recommend you to play those maps, they might not be worth pp, but they are the most satisfying maps to play and once you are good easy top 50 nomod scores.

Just to name a few of my favorites that ain't generic:

https://osu.ppy.sh/s/223092 (the best map in this game, play it without hitsounds, it's mapped on point lol)
https://osu.ppy.sh/b/1104317&m=0 (fun fun fun)
https://osu.ppy.sh/s/258193 (od9+really spaced triples+128bpm streams, worth nothing for the effort; only a handful of people actually FCd it)

There are hundreds of maps that are really unique and insanely hard in the 4* range, just naming those 3 because they are really fun. There are also not so "cancerous" maps that are hard for their star rating, but sadly they don't get the attention they deserve.

PS: If you can play almost all 4* maps consistently you will have an easier time closing the gap to 5* maps, but that's another story. Just trying to motivate you to not skip maps :3

Some maps are absolute shit at that range. So discount those.
After you take out the shitmaps, if there are still maps that you can't combo/acc on, then it indicates there are some areas where you're lacking. Keep playing to bring your skills up.
