I've asked a lot of people and done some googling but I can't seem to get a straight answer. I'm trying to figure out if alt-0178 (² or squared) is allowed in beatmap metadata. The answer I seem to get is "no" because it "breaks the game" or "causes an upload error" but I've tested out both of these and it seems to work fine for me. Obviously this is just for my system and not for the community as a whole. Can anyone tell me what osu! supports and if in fact, unicode (or at least a limited subset of it) is allowed?

I found that osu supports UTF-8 but I'm just a layman when it comes to this stuff, does that mean it's fine?
osu! version: 20170503.4 (latest)
o x
It isn't fine as other users can not download the map because of the character in the diff name. Unicode is only allowed for romanized artist/titles.
