I'm not sure I want to allow disabling the score explosions; this is one of the key elements of the game. We map so they don't get in the way of later objects, and they help space maps correctly.
I will try adding previews on hover and see how it handles performance-wise.
The game is doing alright, but we are lacking enough songs for it to be doing great. We are working on that hard at the moment, and have some *awesome* stuff incoming . The song packs are on-par with japanese rhythm games on the app store, if not cheaper (in the case of taiko). One credit on an arcade machine will let you play 2-3 songs for around the asme price as purchasing these songs forever in the case of osu!stream. While dropping the price would likely increase sales and possibly even overall revenue, I disagree with going as low as 99c for a whole song back. So for the time being, I don't plan on adjusting the pricing.
Cytus uses a completely different payment model, as you have to buy the game. I wanted osu!stream to be free in the spirit of osu!, and plan on keeping it this way. More free songs are on their way too.
