When I use the offset wizard that osu! gives you for offset testing (https://osu.ppy.sh/s/4659), i get terrible accuracy, so i changed my offset to fit what the performance chart was saying (~-90ms offset... : http://imgur.com/a/5qO2B (i did this with 0 offset). I usually don't have terrible acc with 0 offset, but on this map I did.

When I go into a game with -90ms and try to time the notes with the audio, I get 50s and 100s and sometimes don't even hit the notes. Does anyone else have a better way to find accurate offset? (I also didn't alter the map in anyway in terms of the timings and went into the editor to make sure all the notes were lined up)

you should have your universal offset at 0 always.
universal offset is only used as a very last resort for hardware- or software-based problems like audio delay through your sound card and the like. if you do not have problems like that which you cant fix, dont change your universal offset. your universal offset should be 0. local offset is used for when the map you are playing is timed wrongly and you are always hitting too early or too late by the same amount. dont try to use offset to "fix" your accurcay if your accuracy is bad. most likely its just you being bad, not the map.

Try this method...

Works for me... but I would agree with -Jukke- opinion about not using offset all the time and you should use 0 always.

I did used to play with 0 offset and would get alot of random 100s, but when I change my offset to around 7ms, I get alot better acc. I wanted to try to find the perfect offset to play with since I play mania and taiko, which rely heavily on accuracy and timing.

Thank you for the replies I'll try the link now

This method also gives the same results and I actually fail the map when I time it with the audio, but when I go into any other map with 0 offset, my timing isn't as bad.

I guess I'm just gonna have to gradually alter it and play maps until I find the perfect one

So the terrible acc happen only from that the offset wizard map, and not the other maps?

Try redownloading that map again, the offset wizard map... or this map https://osu.ppy.sh/s/57424 and see

Still get the same lol... I honestly don't know why only with these maps and my local offset on both maps are at 0.

Can someone post some maps with perfect offset so I can test?

Try in Taiko / Mania subforum, they should have better knowledge how to set up offset for this modes.

Unless you have a concrete feeling that you are constantly hitting notes too early or too late, I doubt you will need to change the universal offset. What -Jukke- said is true. You should not try to fix your accuracy with offsets. Or you can just ask an experienced player to spec you and see whether you do have any problems with offsets or not.

I had offset issues but reinstalling the game seemed to fix it? (I don't know how) Thank you though
