[Our Story in the Stars]
00:00:764 (1,2) - blanket could be improved
00:02:218 (5,6) - flow of that reverse is contradictory with 00:00:764 (1) since 00:00:764 (1) creates a back & forth flow due to the player having to go towards the tail again to hit 00:01:309 (2) while 00:02:218 (5) creates circular flow because 00:02:764 (6) is near the head
00:04:751 (5,6) - I don’t get the usage of 2 circles instead of slider here ? I don’t hear a change in the music so that change is unjustified
00:04:933 (6,2) - improve blanket
00:06:570 (1) - why is this the only straight slider in your measure ? There’s an inconsistency within slidershapes because they’re all mapped to the same thing, but their shape changes
00:08:024 (3) - I personally find this ugly but it’s your move there
00:11:661 (5) - why put emphasis on that particular circle ? making only 00:11:479 (4,5) more spaced than the rest of the jumps makes it seem out of place, rather put emphasis on every 2nd circle for voice follow or do the same spacing for everything
00:14:206 (2) - I’m okay with emphasising downbeats through straight sliders instead of curved, but why straight here ?
00:16:388 (5) - ^
00:14:570 (3,4) - why did you reverse the circular flow going on ?
00:20:014 (2) - This slider reverses the circular flow because of how it’s oriented compared to 00:19:651 (1), and it’s the only time in that phrase that a snare is emphasised like that
00:22:014 (6,7,1) - not the same angle with 00:22:378 (1) as in 00:21:105 (1,2,3,4,5) even though they’re meant to me similar
00:22:378 (1) - again, inconsistencies in slider shapes
00:27:292 (2) - etc, not gonna mention slider shape inconsistencies anymore cause I don’t wanna repeat myself, but it does happen throughout the map
00:29:837 - I don’t really get what you’re following in that part ? 00:29:837 (1,2,3,4) follows the piano, but then 00:34:047 (1,2,3) - follows the vocals and skips piano for that purpose, so I’m rather confused on what you wanted to emphasise here
00:41:459 (1,2,3,4) - why didn’t you start following the vocals here ? Following the logic from 00:42:913 (1,2,3,4,5,6,1,2,3,4,5) every tick with vocals is clickable, so this should be all circles
00:50:186 (1,2,3,4,5) - hitsounding sounds broken here
00:51:640 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - why only circles ? It completely breaks the logic you set up with the vocals
00:56:004 (1,2,3,4) - maybe silence those since they don’t snap on anything
00:59:640 (3) - first slider of all those holds that is in the continuity of the previous’ flow ( ex : 00:56:004 (1,2,3) are not ), so it’s inconsistent
01:08:559 (5) - this kinda breaks the circular flow that 01:07:650 (1,2,3,4) had setup
01:10:548 (1) - should be 2 circles to be consistent with before
01:12:548 (3) - the emphasis here through a reversal of the circular flow seems unjustified since there’s nothing different here, especially since 01:12:912 (4) has 2 finishes and doesn’t get that emphasis ; you’d want to reverse flow more there
01:13:457 (1) - rhythm consistency, blah blah blah
01:14:912 (1) - ^
01:16:366 (1) - finish missing here
01:17:094 (3) - stack end on 01:15:639 (3)’s head
01:22:912 (3,4) - here come rhythm police again
01:24:003 (2) - why switch to linear flow here ?
01:26:730 (2) - why red anchors only slider all of a sudden ? keep it consistent
01:27:275 (3,4) - blanket could be improved
01:28:184 (2,3) - same
01:30:184 (3) - flow reversal is a bit unjustified here, since it doesn’t happen at 01:27:275 (3) and 01:28:730 (3)
01:31:093 (2) - I’m pretty sure there’s no snare here
01:31:639 (5) - why so much spacing ? This could be stacked on 01:30:730 (4) and keep it even cause here the song doesn’t have anything different that warrants emphasis of any kind
01:32:184 (8,1) - spacing here is a bit confusing since your switch from back and forth flow to circular flow emphasises 01:32:366 (1), but the smaller spacing is contradicts that emphasis
01:37:487 (3,1) - idk how I feel about that overlap
01:46:186 (3,4) - where is the 2 circles into slider pattern you did at 01:43:276 (3,4,5) ?
01:54:913 (3) - stack on 01:53:822 (4)’s head
01:57:830 (4,5,1) - inconsistent rhythm with 01:54:913 (3,4,1)
02:01:824 (2) - 2 circles here ( consistency, etc )
02:04:009 (5) - ^
02:04:740 (2,3,4,5,6,7) - again, I don’t get the full circles here
02:06:922 (5) - the spacing goes from 1.73 to 2.66, that is way overdone for a part that doesn’t call for it
02:07:286 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - this is a flow change from 02:06:377 (2,3,4,5,6), while 00:54:549 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) didn’t have any ; both are identical parts in the song, yet they are different in the map. Also, 02:07:286 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) is circular flow while 00:54:549 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) is back & forth, which is also inconsistent
02:14:004 (8,1) - not perfectly stacked
02:18:004 - remove clap here since there’s no snare
02:19:459 (4) - again, spacing is getting a bit confusing here
02:19:822 (6) - ^
02:20:368 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - where’s the pattern from 01:07:650 (1,2,3,4,5,6) ?
02:22:368 (2) - should be breaking flow since 01:09:639 (2) did
02:23:277 (1,2,3,4,5) - gonna stop mentioning rhythm inconsistencies later on
02:32:368 (2,3,4,5,6) - there’s no reason for a sudden flow change here
02:43:640 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - why is every other circle emphasised ? They all have the same sounds, so the DS should be equal or similar
02:45:095 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - same here, those jumps’ spacing is a bit shaky
02:46:549 (1,2,3,4,5) - where is the gradual spacing increase from 01:33:821 (1,2,3,4,5) ?
02:48:004 (1,2,3,4) - why is this angle so low compared to 01:35:275 (1,2,3,4) ?
02:50:400 (4,3) - not perfectly stacked
02:50:569 (1) - I don’t see a reason for that flow change
02:53:458 (1) - same here, according to the flow it should be somewhere in the upper left quarter of the grid
02:57:095 (2,3) - here again, why switch to circular flow all of a sudden ?
03:13:093 (2,3,4,5,6,7) - those jumps would make sense if they were following the drums, but they’re following the guitar ?
03:15:276 (7) - what did he do to you that you gave him such a low DS
03:20:912 (2,3) - that angle’s getting wide enough that it’s played differently from your usual others which puts emphasis there for no particular reason
The jumps above suffer from the same problem as the others with the spacing being inconsistent
03:25:640 (4) - first time in the phrase that a slider doesn’t break circular flow which is inconsistent
03:24:731 (3,4) - blanket on the edges could be improved
03:26:549 (1,2,3,4) - why the sudden jumps ?
03:30:930 (1) - misclicked red anchor ?
03:38:912 (4,5) - those red anchors feel out of place here as well
03:46:549 (7,8) - again, inconsistencies within flow changes
03:56:367 (3,4) - should be a 1/1 slider to be consistent with 03:54:912 (3)
04:04:912 (3,4,5,1,2,3,1) - again, sudden flow change here while keeping the anti-clockwise flow would’ve been perfectly fine
04:18:276 (6,7,8) - the harshness of the curve changes way too quickly here, making it look rather awkward
04:19:640 (9,10) - why didn’t you keep the stream ?
04:21:458 (1,2,3,4) - way overdone imo
04:28:018 (1,2) - ctrl+g to be consistent with 04:25:119 (1,2)
04:28:563 (1,2) - ctrl+g those as well as a consequence
04:33:283 - missed vocal here while you’ve been following them for the rest of the phrase
04:36:923 (3,4,5) - there are no snares here, remove the claps
04:46:559 - 04:50:923 - same problem as the other jump sections ; spacing as well as flow are inconsistent
04:50:923 (1) - why did you start putting a slider at vocals ? either you make your intensity spike or you don’t, but don’t do something in between
04:58:741 (3,4,5) - overmapped triple as well as being inconsistent with the rhythm from the previous kiais
05:28:048 (1) - 3 issues with this slider here :
--> Head should be stacked perfectly with 05:27:109 (3), should be fine since it doesn’t touch my skin’s hp bar which is pretty big to begin with
--> blanket here could be improved
--> the star could be done with more consistency through slider points editing in .osu
Overall there are a lot of inconsistencies ( rhythm, flow as well as spacing with jumps ), so watch out for them
also your blanketing was on point, it's actually pretty rare to find so few unperfect blankets in a 5 min 30 map
Good luck !
