Well I don't know about you but I play the map if I like the song, regardless if it's streamy, jumpy, or whatever kind. Learning streams/jumps/patterns is just part of playing the game, and avoiding most of it (like playing jump-only maps) is somewhat unhealthy in the long run, in my opinion.

Jumps aren't necessarily overweighted per se. It's the "strain graph" approach that makes successive larger jumps worth more PP, after a series of initial smaller jumps, which also happens to be a "climactic" mapping technique to follow a build up in the music. Maps that use this technique often fall into "farm map" territory. It's not a wrong way of mapping, it just coincidentally takes advantage of a flaw in the system, and most of the PP comes from those last few "big" jumps because the strain value peaks at that point, multiplying the PP returns of stamina with the distance of the jumps. At least this is my understanding of it.
Of course some mappers know about this. Some intentionally map this way, and others intentionally avoid it.

I AM learning how to stream. At least I can do 160 bpm streams now and before I couldn't do 130 bpm streams 1.5 months ago. I KNOW that is REALLY slow but hey, you're complaining that I'm not learning at all.

Stream maps can be farm maps, especially at higher ranks. Once you get to OD8-9 streams and marathons especially youll be getting pp all day, just look at my top scores for example.
If you dont want to learn streams, dont.
But, you should atleast give learning it a proper try to see if it really is fun after all, streams are one of the most fun things to do. spaced streams and jumpstreams are super fun, especially when you can play them.

There is a REASON why we push people to learn how to stream. There is a difference between 4-5-6 circle burst, 10-20 circle stream and 50-60+ circle deathstream.
Without ability to stream at least this 20 circle, forget about playing MOST of 5* maps, just forget. Almost every map, even farm garbage contain streams.
Deathstreams are another story and this takes A LOT of time and practice to learn, especially in term of stamina and stability, not mention aim.
I can attest that streaming is no longer necessary to be a high ranking player. I am one of the best streamers in my country yet nowhere near the top. Aim is more important for getting pp.
This is also due to map pool. Every "stream" map 2015 onwards have full screen jumps.... Understandable as streams are perceived as the final skill a player obtains after being able to perfect TV sized HR maps.

I don't know if I would say the jumps give a whole lot more pp than streams. Marathon maps give lots of pp due to their super-high object count, and there are shorter stream maps that give lots of PP like Midnight Siege, d.m.c, et cetera. Stream farm maps exist, but for whatever reason jump farm maps are lot more popular.
The other problem with streams is that they are super under weighed at over 220 bpm, but under that they five a fair amount of pp.
