Rinput.exe in osu!

Hello everyone,

I'm using a tool called Rinput.exe when I'm playing CS. It literally just bypasses windows acceleration, basically an external raw input. Is it allowed to use that program in osu! too? Not that you need it (since there is an option in osu!), but if it is still running in the background, can I get in trouble for it?

Before the mods who can come in with a proper reply, just want to say, if you are no sure, and you're using an external program to run it, probs avoid it first.

Don't know either
But as you said you have an option for that in osu and acceleration can be disable directly in Windows for other game and general use. So I don't think you really need that program anyways

Don't, unless your PC's fcked up or something like it doesn't allow you to disable mouse accel on some systems http://www.mouse-sensitivity.com/forum/ ... vs-rinput/
(trust me I'm former smfc before MM update)

edit: I don't know about you, but that's simply my preference. Regarding osu!, it might be safer if you turn off accel manually in-game** until someone tells you it's safe for the game.

Disabling EPP and setting Windows pointer speed to 6/11 isn't the same as using raw input. Raw input is a method of fetching mouse data directly when it is registered on the machine as WM_INPUT packets. This not only effectively bypasses any OS changes to mouse data processing (pointer speed, acceleration), but also the reading method the OS is using itself (WM_MOUSEMOVE - pointer interpretation and translation of mouse movement). This has multiple advantages: Input delay is reduced as mouse data is processed fewer times and doesn't need to be translated first into pointer movement (pixels travelled) and then into in-game rotation (degrees turned), negative acceleration and therefore the dependency of sensitivity on framerate, game resolution and sensor resolution is gone and very small mouse movements can be registered since there doesn't have to be enough of it to move a cursor by at least 1 pixel (which also depends on your OS DPI scaling).

forums probably aren't the best place to get a response from someone qualified to answer, hit up support with an email, or tweet peppy.
