You might consider re-timing it! I got a relatively good timing with 224.8 bpm with offset 3668 my monitor gives around 17ms lag so yeah
If you slow down the song by 50% you can hear in the beginning the offset needs a little shifting.
I think from a taiko standpoint it's good :)
If you use new timing settings you can sometimes just use the
scale objects to new timing and
snap objects to new timing

  1. SV 2,74 => SV 1,20/1,40
  2. 00:04:201 (2) - d
  3. 00:04:735 (3) - k
  4. 00:07:938 (8) - k
  5. 00:11:675 (14) - delete
  6. 00:18:614 (21) - d

and then you are using the same pattern, so just change other things in next parts
[Futsuu]
  1. 00:13:543 (27) - d
  2. 00:15:678 (32) - ^
  3. 00:17:813 (5) - ^
  4. from 00:29:824 - the same changes as before ^
  5. 00:19:682 (11,12) - dk sounds better here
[Muzukashii]
  1. don't use triples like this 00:04:068 (3,4,5) - (ddk) or like this 00:08:338 (30,31,32) - (kdk) they are reseved for Oni. There are a lot of information about how to make taiko beatmaps, it really helps :)

Try to actually give people better alternatives instead of chucking them a useless "how to map taiko" link.

Disable widescreen support on all diffs (dunno if it's actually needed but I think so)

[Kantan]

HP can be raised to 9 I think. Really short song and really easy considering the bpm
00:10:607 (12) - k?

pretty solid, not much to mention

[Futsuu]
The jump in difficulty between this and the Kantan is pretty damn large, although the star rating is probably a bit inflated due to the amount of doubles. You may want to try nerfing this or buffing the Muzu to smooth out the spread a bit.

00:07:671 (11) - change to k? I think it sounds fine and provides some nice variation
00:18:614 (7,8) - going right into this section after the rather advanced rhythms before it would be a bit hard for a beginner futsuu player (the kind of player who'd actively seek out short maps for practice), maybe delete 00:18:748 (8) - to give them some more time to react to the change.
00:24:753 (11) - change to k if you accept the 2nd point
00:35:829 (8) - remove this if you accept the 1st point

also quite solid

[Muzukashii]
This diff felt pretty weird to play as it feels like it follows rhythms completely different from the other two

00:06:070 (15,16,17,18,19,20,21) - I would change this to d d k k d k d and 00:07:137 (22,23,24,25,26,27,28) - to k d k k d d k
00:11:007 (47) - having this as a k fits better with the k d k before it
00:16:079 - delete this? I think it sounds better without it
00:18:214 (88) - change to k, the only sound here is high pitch.
00:28:089 (47) - having this as a k fits better with the k d k before it
00:35:296 (88) - k here again

Good luck with ranking! :D link's awakening best game

ended up removing the doubles entirely because it had to be either ALL of them doubles or NONE of them doubles or else it just didn't sound right, difficulty is less inflated now :D

also quite solid

00:08:338 (30,31,32) - kkk more easy to hit as muzu player

00:03 Stefan: got time for a little IRC mod?
00:03 Weber: not a huge fan of IRC mods but sure
00:04 *Weber is editing [https://osu.ppy.sh/b/1181620 Kazumi Totaka - K.K. Song [Kantan]]
00:04 Stefan: Oh well, we'll be fast done :D
00:05 Weber: cool
00:05 Stefan: 00:03:668 - 00:11:141 - That part could be revamped, mostly because of the hitsounds.
00:05 Stefan: for example, it makes no sense if you put 00:04:735 (3) - as Kat but before you made 00:03:668 (1) - as Don.
00:05 Stefan: While the sounds are very similar.
00:06 Stefan: #And I think we don't need to include so many circles for the Kantan Difficulty
00:07 Weber: i think its necessary in all difficulties to hit all of the prominent melody's notes at the very least
00:07 Weber: or at least come close
00:07 Weber: this is as bare bones as I could make it without it sounding funny
00:07 Weber: i mean
00:08 Weber: i guess I could remove these 00:05:269 (4) - ?
00:08 Stefan: 00:03:668 - 00:06:870 - https://derpovic.s-ul.eu/JnG7T82S.png
00:08 Stefan: Just compare the sounds on 00:05:269 - and 00:04:201 - with 00:06:337 -
00:09 Stefan: 00:06:337 isn't comparable with the other two spots
00:09 Stefan: if you go with the height of sound.
00:09 Stefan: 00:07:938 - 00:11:675 - https://derpovic.s-ul.eu/rL9Moxgb.png
00:09 Stefan: that could be switched instead.
00:09 Weber: hm
00:10 Weber: yeah i think thats a good idea
00:11 Stefan: 00:11:675 - 00:18:080 - You saw already that (11) on the last picture was changed to Don
00:11 Weber: i think starting from here
00:11 Weber: 00:11:675 (11) -
00:11 Weber: should be dkdk
00:11 Stefan: maybe you can also switch here?
00:11 Weber: wait whoops
00:11 Stefan: from d to k and the opposite?
00:11 Weber: 00:11:675 (11) -
00:11 Stefan: O
00:11 Weber: ?
00:11 Stefan: well, then k to d instead
00:11 Stefan: Well, yeah, that's also okay to have dkdk
00:12 Weber: your words are confusing me just send me a screenshot LOL
00:12 Weber: alright cool
00:12 Weber: so are the k's fine until 00:11:675 (11) -
00:12 Weber: ?
00:12 Stefan: https://derpovic.s-ul.eu/J1M1BfDI.png
00:13 Stefan: Yes
00:13 Stefan: they are
00:14 Weber: im not sure i like this dkdkdk until 18
00:14 Weber: theres no real change in the sound to warrant it
00:14 Weber: thats why I had them all as k
00:15 Stefan: Well, that is true (I even question it at first about (1) and (3) at the begin)
00:15 Stefan: However
00:15 Stefan: I believe it's still more interesting to switch since it's probably a more interesting way to make this rather calm part cooler to play.
00:16 Stefan: It was a maybe after all. :D If you disagree, that's okay.
00:18 Stefan: Anyways, when you're done we can move to Futsuu
00:18 Weber: alright
00:18 *Weber is editing [https://osu.ppy.sh/b/1181619 Kazumi Totaka - K.K. Song [Futsuu]]
00:18 Stefan: aight
00:19 Stefan: 00:07:404 (10,11) - I'd find it more natural without these two notes. Okay, (10) may fits with the beep sound in the background.
00:20 Stefan: but (11) feels really forced if you ask me.
00:20 Weber: i'll remove 11
00:25 Stefan: 00:11:808 - Try adding a note here. and move 00:14:077 (27) - afterwards to 00:13:810 -
00:25 Stefan: kdd d sounds imo really nice and fits better to the Muzukashii (which is full of 1/2 notes).
00:26 Stefan: and 00:14:077 (27) - is definitely on a better spot on 00:13:810 - .
00:28 Stefan: 00:14:877 - 00:16:479 - could work similar here:https://derpovic.s-ul.eu/bHvKH02W.png
00:29 Stefan: and 00:17:013 - 00:18:614 - https://derpovic.s-ul.eu/4wa4Kpbg.png
00:29 Weber: wait
00:29 Weber: where is kdd d
00:31 Stefan: 00:11:675 - 00:12:208 -
00:32 Weber: alright
00:32 Stefan: Are the other two parts I've pointed above clear?
00:33 Weber: wait
00:33 Weber: okay
00:33 Weber: look
00:33 Weber: can you say those last two things
00:34 Weber: and make ABSOLUTELY SURE your indicator is where it is exactly in the screenshot
00:34 Weber: i really hate irc
00:35 Stefan: Okay, uhm
00:37 Stefan: 00:14:344 - 00:16:479 - https://derpovic.s-ul.eu/a5HNmcSN.png (29) starts at 00:14:344 - and (3) ends on 00:16:479 -
00:39 Stefan: 00:17:013 - 00:18:614 - https://derpovic.s-ul.eu/4wa4Kpbg.png (3) starts on 00:17:013 - and (9) ends on 00:18:164 -
00:39 Weber: give me 10 minutes
00:39 Stefan: Sure.
00:40 Stefan: sorry, https://derpovic.s-ul.eu/DDyC1z7L.png *(4) and (10)
00:40 Stefan: My bad. x_x
00:41 Weber: okay
00:41 Weber: why are there 1/2 notes there
00:42 Weber: i mean triplets
00:42 Weber: this is what I have
00:43 Weber: https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/7100728
00:43 Stefan: Well, your Muzukashii is full of Stream patterns, basically
00:44 Stefan: You need to have a somewhat existent curve
00:44 Stefan: if you want to go from Futsuu to Muzukashii
00:44 Stefan: Yes, that'd be Triplets on half-bpm (112,4)
00:45 Stefan: But even then this would be under very special condition acceptable.
00:45 Weber: okay look
00:45 Weber: i really dont understand the rhythms you've put forth in those screenshots
00:45 Weber: could you send me your .osu
00:45 Stefan: Well, sure.
00:45 Weber: sorry but this is frustrating me way more than it should
00:46 Stefan: https://derpovic.s-ul.eu/OuMQiKc9.txt
00:46 Stefan: Just changed the first loop.
00:48 Weber: okay
00:48 Weber: now i see
00:49 Weber: honestly i think these rhythms are too complex for the very simple repeating music inbetween the main rhythms
00:49 Stefan: Then we need to nerf the Muzukashii
00:50 Stefan: The gap between these two difficulties is too big
00:50 Stefan: despite it's just a three difficulty set
00:51 Stefan: Well, got nothing more to add into the Futsuu Difficulty. I just thought it would be nicer to have some more variation here
00:52 Stefan: and to connect better to the upcoming Stream pattern in Muzukashii.
00:53 Stefan: Waiting for you whenever you're ready for Muzukashii.
00:55 Weber: alright
00:56 Weber: ready
00:56 Stefan: Aye, let's see
00:58 Stefan: 00:06:070 (15,16,17,18,19,20,21) - after you decided to not use kdd pattern for the Futsuu, things like that are too long and breaks the gap drastically.
00:58 Stefan: while it's okay to have ooo ooo as long it's not completely continous, this is too much
00:59 Weber: how about
00:59 Weber: ddkdddk
00:59 Weber: for that
00:59 Weber: so that the k's land on the main notes in the melody
01:00 Stefan: yknow
01:00 Stefan: this can technically be called Oni
01:00 Stefan: And it'd rather fit this way.
01:00 Stefan: I am not complaining about the rhythm choice
01:01 Stefan: it's pretty interesting and nicely done.
01:01 Weber: i understand its really dense
01:01 Stefan: It's not just really dense.
01:01 Stefan: It's too dense.
01:01 Weber: but i tried coming up with something that was between what I have now for futsuu and muzukashii and it didn't really work
01:02 Stefan: You don't have any of these ooo pattern like 00:05:002 (9,10,11) - in the Futsuu Difficulty
01:03 Stefan: While they're widely present in Muzukashii.
01:03 Stefan: And you even have longer pattern like 00:06:070 (15,16,17,18,19,20,21) -
01:04 Stefan: Mapping the prominent sounds and effects is important, yes.
01:04 Stefan: But a constant difficulty curve too.
01:04 Weber: b-b-b-b-b-b-but they all have their corresponding icons :^)
01:05 Weber: kidding
01:05 Weber: i do see what you mean
01:05 Stefan: KAntan > Futsuu works okayish, could be better imo but it's fine for now
01:05 Stefan: I mean, you want this to be ranked, or?
01:05 Weber: yes
01:05 Stefan: Well, I am picking on this because I too want this map to be ranked.
01:06 Stefan: That's why I am telling you it won't be able with the current spread.
01:06 Stefan: Or in the state it is currently.
01:06 Weber: so what are you suggesting
01:07 Stefan: To be really honest, if you really don't want to nerf the Muzukashii I'd suggest doing an easier one
01:07 Stefan: and rename the current Muzukashii in Oni.
01:07 Stefan: You can use less of the density in the current Muzukashii
01:07 Stefan: but being more complex than Futsuu.
01:08 Weber: alright i'll try it

NM hello again
[Kantan]
  1. 00:04:201 (2) - switch to k because the intensity is building here, and the bg snare which you followed quite often
  2. 00:22:885 (30) - d to be consistent with the first part
[Futsuu]
  1. consider removing 00:07:671 (11) - / 00:09:806 (18) - / 00:24:753 (11) - / 00:26:888 (18) - these they sound weird
  2. 00:08:338 (13,14) - ctrl+g because the intensity/pitch/stuff is falling not rising
[Muzu]
  1. this is a muzu so technically you need to make your 1/4 patterns, 00:04:068 (3,4,5) - 00:21:150 (3,4,5) - 00:25:420 (30,31,32) -, monochromatic
  2. 00:13:409 (61,62) - / 00:15:545 (73,74) - / 00:32:627 (73,74) - / 00:32:226 (71,72) - be consistent with these patterns so that gameplay is more intuitive

Hey !

[Kantan]

00:14:344 - Add a note here so it doesn't feel too empty
00:32:493 - And here too.

[Futsuu]

Nothing to say xd

[Muzukashii]

Offset is inconsistent with the other diffs (and its huge)

00:08:343 (31,32,33) - Make this a kkk triplet
00:14:354 (65,66) - These notes are the exact same tone, they should be the same colour. Plus I think kkddk doesn't fit this part at all. I'd suggest this
00:20:332 (94,95) - What about two finishers here ?

Well just be consistent with the changes on the second part of the map.

[Oni]

00:20:349 (98,99) - What about two finishers here ? (+here too obvsly 00:37:431 (98,99) - )

Well that's all lol

Good luck for this short map

  3. BPM is slower here by .2
  4. 00:07:140 - This could be shortened to a simple ddk kkd
  5. 00:11:415 - The same goes here
  6. 00:13:151 - Remove this note, and place one at 00:13:285
  7. 00:17:425 - Same ^ not mentioned at 00:15:288 just for variation purposes
  8. 00:18:494 - You could also remove this note
  9. 00:24:772 - Same as 00:07:140
  10. 00:28:512 - Same^
Neat song, gl w/ rank

* well still a bit close with density Oni...
* 00:07:271 - delete, 00:07:404 - yeh its enough with 5plet here and good to start here with that beat e.g 00:09:539 - this 5plet
* 00:11:541 -
* 00:35:296 - similar pattern with oni, delete.. and next
* and similar parts, its good tho if you using more ddkkd and had kkddk as variation cuz kkddkkd it makes similar with oni

* 00:07:137 - 00:24:219 - both add here d, you see ayyri diff that has 7plet orz hope ayyri would delete them.. dem dem spread

Hello! I have some concerns regarding the spread of this mapset, more specifically the difficulty surrounding Ayyri's Muzukashii.

For starters, the note density already denotes something is not going too well:

Futsuu has a total of 85 notes, Muzu has a total of 181 notes, and Oni has a total of 204 notes.

Moreover, Muzukashii is significantly lacking of 3/2 and/or 2/1 breaks (the only 3/2 break is at 00:18:748 - 00:19:281 - and their respective 00:35:829 - 00:36:363 - at the ending )

I'm going to suggest some places in which you can delete notes in Muzukashii in order to balance the spread between Futsuu and Oni

[Ayyri's Muzukashii]
00:06:070 -
00:10:874 -
00:16:079 (71,72,73) -
(repeat for 2nd half)
00:23:151 -
00:27:956 (132,133) -

Moreover, you can make some additions in Futsuu to further balance the spread.
[Futsuu]
2/1 in Futsuu is supposed to be the main break element, not the main rhythm element. So you can fill some parts to have 1/1 rhythms more consistently, such as:
00:09:806 -
00:22:618 -
00:27:422 -

Same would apply in Kantan, as 4/1 is the main break element, while 2/1 should be the main rhythm accompanied with occasional 1/1 and 4/1 breaks.

However, since this song is significantly high BPM and our guidelines specify that they apply to approximately 180 BPM, I am more lenient about the Kantan and Futsuu issues. Still, Muzukashii doesn't follow your line of reasoning and as such, the spread gets imbalanced around it.

Let me know if you agree!

SPOILER
16:39 Raiden: you better be ready
16:40 Weber: im lubing up
16:40 Raiden: since muzu is this dense, we have two choices here
16:40 Raiden: either beef up kantan and futsuu significantly
16:40 Raiden: or nerf muzukashii
16:41 Weber: i like the idea that doesn't involve making ari do more work
16:41 Raiden: okay
16:41 Raiden: kantan first
16:41 *Weber is editing [https://osu.ppy.sh/b/1181620 Kazumi Totaka - K.K. Song [Kantan]]
16:42 Raiden: 00:04:468 - can add a kat
16:42 Raiden: this way it becomes 1/1 in kantan, simple 1/2 in futsuu, long 1/2 in muzu
16:42 Raiden: (or simple 1/4 in muzu)
16:43 Weber: sounds good
16:43 Raiden: 00:04:735 - you've got a 4/1 break here, 1/1 usage is justified
16:43 Raiden: 00:06:603 - same
16:43 Raiden: add it also in futsuu
16:44 Weber: 00:08:739 - and 00:11:408 - as well?
16:44 Raiden: yes
16:44 Raiden: I think I really shouldn't point places one by one lol
16:44 Raiden: you got the general message?
16:45 Weber: yep
16:45 Raiden: https://imgur-archive.ppy.sh/693PIGv.png
16:45 Raiden: the guidelines say "4/1 break every 16/1 of mapping"
16:45 Raiden: aka 4 measures
16:45 Raiden: you have one 4/1 break every 2 measures
16:46 Raiden: song isn't 360 BPM, is it? :D
16:46 Weber: lmao
16:46 Raiden: in Futsuu, same
16:46 Raiden: but with 2/1 breaks
16:46 Raiden: if you beef them up, the spread to muzu won't be as large
16:46 Raiden: and you'll notice how the note count gets more even
16:48 Raiden: to be totally honest I think it is ayyri who should nerf the muzukashii to oblivion lol
16:51 Weber: yeah i guess
16:51 Weber: oh well though
16:51 Weber: updated the kantan, tell me what you think of the replacement for the 4/1 notes
16:52 Raiden: much bette
16:52 Raiden: r
16:52 Raiden: now futsuu
16:53 Raiden: if it ends with around 100-110 notes, you've nailed it
16:56 Weber: 108
16:56 Raiden: great
16:56 Weber: updated, check it out
16:57 Raiden: Oni OD6
16:57 Weber: sure
16:59 Raiden: 00:18:347 - delete this in futsuu
16:59 Raiden: 00:18:614 (8,9,10,11,12,13) - all kats? it's the same as muzu right now
17:00 Weber: all dons then?
17:00 Raiden: or all kats
17:00 Raiden: lol
17:00 Weber: kats better
17:00 Weber: lul
17:01 Weber: updated again
17:03 Raiden: 00:24:486 - fill in kantan
17:03 Raiden: futsuu is full of 1/1 here
17:03 Raiden: oops not that one
17:03 Raiden: 00:22:351 - here
17:04 Weber: done
17:04 Raiden: 00:27:956 - move to 00:28:756 -
17:06 Weber: fixed on both ends of the map
17:08 Raiden: try updating
17:09 Weber: done
17:10 Raiden: 00:09:539 - fill in kantan
17:10 Raiden: futsuu is full 1/1
17:12 Raiden: 00:22:084 - delete in futsuu
17:12 Weber: updated
17:12 Raiden: to give a break after long 1/2 chain
17:13 Weber: also forgot to add at note at 00:05:536 - for consistency with 00:22:618 -
17:14 Weber: updated
17:17 Raiden: muzu still at +60 1
17:17 Raiden: while the rest are at consistent 35-40
17:17 Raiden: eh
17:18 Raiden: still, it's got now some 2/1 rests every 32/1 or so
17:18 Weber: LOL
17:18 Raiden: acceptable
17:18 Raiden: I'll post the log

I mean, it's not really affecting anything, so I don't mind keeping it as is.
