I always have trouble copying the code guest mappers give me to Notepad. What I do is create a new diff on my map, save it, open the .osu file in Notepad, copy the code, save it, and when I exit it says something along the lines of 'processing beatmap headers failed, it must be corrupted'. What do I do?

Ask your friends if they can send you the .osu file as a whole to you directly.

Otherwise, you could try the new difficulty method, then while you have that new difficulty open on the editor, select opening the file via Notepad, then copy and paste the entire .osu file (entire) into the .osu file. Feel free to add an extra new line at the end if there isn't one, as often .osu files produce an extra blank line.

Anyway, after that, reload the difficulty, not saving what you currently have in the editor (so Ctrl+L). See if that works.

Make sure that everything is the same
If you create a new diff and call it "GD" and the GDer sent his diff with name "GDer's Diffname" it'll be incorrect
