Although it's a bit of a broken one, because I try to live with not only the "rules" coming from "common sense", "education" and other things close to them that I might be forgetting or unable to name [because I live in France and don't know the words], but also with "rules" that I carved into myself as a result of what I've experienced and seen during my years of existence.
The latter ones make the major part of the said "compass"; making me try to live without breaking the "common sense's rules".
If the world were to change to a point I have to (almost completely) overwrite my "ethics", then I don't think I'll be staying alive for long, let alone be fast enough to find solutions to each problem that popped up due to the changes.
