My acc is trash and I would appreciate maps/advice for improving my accuracy. I will play more and play marathon maps, so that part of your recommendation is complete.

Just play nomod, mods aren't necessary to improving your acc. In fact, many peopel i have heard tell me it can be harmful in the long run

He's right! I play alot of DT and HD and whenever I try playing some nomod songs, my acc is terrible because the circles r 2 slow 4 me and this is 5-6 star songs :P feelsbadman

Overall nomod would be the best option if you want better accuracy. (In my opinion ;))

HR is propably the worst to learn accuracy.
HD is pretty good actually, because if you learn it, the game will be cleaner to understand the game.
So answering the question HD is a lot better to train accuracy than HR

Do the opposite of what everyone in this thread is saying.

HD or nomod are good for developing accuracy at your level. Playing HR before you have mastered low AR and OD8 would just be counter productive.

hr is nice to get a better acc but it's too early for you imo

This is a good example of why not to always trust high ranked players to give good advice.

hd is reading mod

I didn't understand. Please keep your wording simple next time.

I edited bunch of maps to 8 AR and 10 OD, and played them every day. I think low AR and high OD will improve cursor control aswell as accuracy coz you're not pressing notes as soon as they pop.

oridunno, that helped me.

Yea pretty much

Don't forget to edit CS to 5 as well.

I've learned accuracy on DJPop and nightcore maps. Just download the nightcore pack(s) and you are ready to go, even the hard 3* maps are OD=8.

I'm playing HR and HD sometimes, HD if I'm playing a random ~4.5* map that I FCd before as a warmup, it helps clicking to the beat, I don't react to the approachcirlces anyway, if it sounds melodic you are probably doing it right. HR is just too hard in my opinion, it's not the mod I'd use for learning accuracy, I'd use the mod for the sake of learning HR. If you want higher OD you can always edit the maps.

Just a few suggestions for you, that I play every now and then to "improve" my accuracy, they helped me a lot:

https://osu.ppy.sh/s/131098 (just found this one, but I'll definitely pick it up, it's great to focus on accuracy)

https://osu.ppy.sh/b/533332?m=0 (OD9, beautiful mapping, the jumps are mapped on the onbeat, you can focus just on the rhythm [lunatic])

https://osu.ppy.sh/b/39514 (OD8, this map helped me to get the "mechanics". I've learned doubles and a general sense for rhythm on this map [insane])

https://osu.ppy.sh/b/101236 (OD8, a map with tons of triples, took some time to get 99% acc, but it definitely paid off for me [insane])

https://osu.ppy.sh/b/363982 (OD8, slow streams a few jumps and overall a really enjoyable map[insane])

You can also do it the hard way, play all 5* DJPop maps 1000 times, there you go, pro accuracy and a free broken keyboard.

EDIT: Actually, grinding out your scores until you peak at 99% accuracy is an option too.

Feel free to message me, we can play some maps together :P

At your rank, I'd practice with hidden on the current level your playing on, or play songs with equal AR and OD. Once you start getting comfortable with AR9 OD8 with hidden and/or AR8 OD8, then I'd move on to hard rock a bit to get the precision of OD10 down. Jumping into hard rock too early would probably be inefficient.
TSGWhatever
I would say HD is better for accuracy training because the lack of approach circles forces you to really listen to the song while playing. This will most likely improve your acc in the long run.

You should wait a while before starting to train HR (or HDHR, your choice) for reasons already stated. Of course, when you can consistently get 99% accuracy on OD8-9 maps, then HR may be benefitial, but until then,I would not play it extensively.
Osuology
Both HR and HD can be very beneficial to use to get better acc.

Just note that HR can cause reading problems, so the best way is to instead, make custom difficulties of certain maps, changing OD to 10, CS to 5.2, and HP to 9-10. But not changing the AR, this way you get everything but the AR change so you don't lose your reading.
Kiritsugu_old_1
Neither. Just play no-mod and try to get good aim. Playing HR or any mods is not recommended until you get to at least 3k rank. (what a 200rank friend told me)
