Hello to you all! This is my first time posting on OSU forums so I'm sorry if I'm missing something, or I should be posting this elsewhere. I've been playing osu on and off for awhile but lately, I've been able to complete some 5 star maps. For some reason my MS is extremely high and when I play it becomes very laggy. It fluctuates between 15 to 30 ms. I don't have any viruses and this problem continues even when I don't have anything else on in the background. My FPS has been fine as I have it at a constant 59-60Hz

Here is some info about my computer:
Razer Blade (2015)
16 GB of RAM
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4720HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz
GeForce GTX 970M

I'm not extremely computer savvy, so if anyone could explain this to me in layman's terms, that would be amazing! Thank you for your help.

Check your options and see if you have frame limiter on: Ideally, it should be unlimited during gameplay.
If you have any programs like f.lux running, disable it or run it in safe mode.
Try running the game in fullscreen mode if you're not already.

Do you have Fullscreen mode enabled, or Letterboxing on if you're playing with a smaller window?

Btw the MS just means in your input lag.

switch to this if you haven't already. http://puu.sh/sScUe/33238d6d70.png

also maybe leave your settings like this http://puu.sh/sSd6q/ab6e135e42.jpg
Try ticking 'reduce dropped frames', and if it helps stick to it

Thank you all so far with your help. To specify some things:

- I do have the game in fullscreen mode
- I do my frame limiter at unlimited
- I do have reduce dropped frames ticked
- I do have detect performance issues ticked
- I'm pretty sure I don't have any other programs running in the background. I used task manager and cleared out a bunch of stuff

Unfortunately nothing has changed so far...

Try enabling compatibility mode or if that doesn't work set the games priority to high from windows task manager

No it's not, it's the time the game take to calculate one frame. Witch have difference.

Well didn't know that 1000/fps isn't input lag. At least afaik high ms is mostly caused by input lag so maybe try searching for ways to lower it.

yea. i'm always have 17 ms every time i played.

I know this topic is really old, but i've had the same problem recently and turning Vsync off for osu! form the Nvidia control panel worked. Ms stopped being capped at 14 and now is between 0.8 and 1.3

Try turning off vsync for osu on your graphics card settings.

Most laptops have this issue. Probably because how its configured by the brand.
Might be fixable, try changing some settings of the laptop.

Do you think they still need help 5 years later? Ask yourself the more important question next time.
