  1. I feel like the hitsounds are bit too loud in the beginning
  2. 00:00:400 (1,1) - fix blanket
  3. Mostly visual things I found here, I'm gonna give examples instead of listing all of each thing. First is that blanket above, a lot of places to fix, such as 00:12:228 (5,6) - 01:02:800 (2,3) - 02:13:771 (2,3) - and so on.
  4. Another one is triangles, I'm not gonna force you to do them but when you have almost done it but it's not perfect that's when you should finish it. For example 00:49:257 (2,3,4) - 00:50:457 (2,3,4) - 00:52:514 (1,2,3) -
  5. Some miscellaneous visual things like 00:13:771 (3,1) - need to be addressed too, like the blanket is okay but the visual distance isn't stable and it doesn't look too good. You can see how 00:13:771 (3) - is closer to 00:14:114 (1) - from the other end. Other misc thing, recycle more slider shapes, you have a lot of little random looking sliders which you sure use again but it feels like only for sec. You could reduce the amount and then use similar shapes for all similar things in the music. It will make it look more neat.
  6. As I said playability is mostly cool, but one thing came pretty quickly to mind when playing. Those kickslider patterns you use here a lot. They are little inconsistent. Sometimes they all have their own space like 00:16:171 (1,2,3,4) - sometimes these spaced ones have clear pattern in them like the one before, but 00:23:028 (1,2,3,4) - for example doesn't really follow any. Then there are these partly stacked ones like 00:17:542 (1,2,1,2) - and finally ones where you use longer kickslider for part of it like 00:18:914 (1,2,1) - Variation is cool, but I couldn't grasp any underlying motive according to which you change them, so it just felt little random instead. Playability-wise then especially stacked vs non stacked was confusing at times. It's especially important in cases like this when the sounds you map are relatively quiet so the player can't really comprehend too much by himself

02:53:200 (1) - i highly recommend putting another slider art here. a spinner after a slider art is really weird

  1. Not sure why but you have 2 audio files in your folder. Keep only one and check if it’s the same that is being used on the .osu to avoid bugs.

  1. Fix blanket 00:00:400 (1,1) – like, it’s a really noticeable one, the sliderart is great but the lack of blanketing there really kills the visual aspect of it.
  2. In various spots of your map you do overlaps. I’ll list some examples; 00:04:857 (2,4) – ; 00:11:028 (1,3,4) - ; 00:12:400 (6,2) - ; 00:15:828 (2,2) - ; 00:23:542 (4,1,1,2,1) - ; 00:26:457 (1,2) - . The reason I’m mentioning this is because at some other spots you actually have stacked 00:26:800 (2,3) - , what makes the diff feels randomly placed objects. Another example of that contrast; stacked 00:35:028 (2,2) - ; and overlapped 00:34:685 (1,2) - .
  3. There’s also some lack of consistency in the difficulty. In this first instrumental intro here that starts the beat; 00:11:371 - ~ 00:22:342 - . There’s a repetition happening in every measure;
    00:11:371 (1,2,3,4,5,6) –
    00:12:742 (1,2,1,2,3,4) -
    00:14:114 (1,2,1,2,3,4) -
    00:15:485 (1,2,1,2,3,4) -

    Ideally you want both combo, flow and rhythm to be the consistent or at least work logically. Rhythm is entirely consistent, but flow wise it starts with circular flow, then switches into linear, then you have a back and forth later on 00:17:542 (1,2,1,2) – and all that makes it feels not consistent. You can add variation to the pattern and you should to avoid boring maps, but you need make it follow some sort of logic. In this case you have 5 phrases , so you could probably make odd and even pattern idea. Making a pattern for phrases 1,3,5 similar and 2,4 similar, etc.
  4. Try to avoid burai sliders 01:37:942 (2) - , this means never make the slider path inside of the own slider. (this in case you’re aiming for ranked mapping)
I won’t pick specific stuff because you could probably work better the basics. Some stuff I really liked such as your rhythm choices (using kicksliders in this songs fits a lot) , some sliders designs were really good. Good luck with your future maps and hopefully you can improve a lot o/

I was always in a state of :thinking: wondering why my map seems so messy and random xd

It seems there are a lot of places where stacking seems more systematic and clean rather than overlapping, and I'll experiment with that!

00:11:028 (1) - no need for NC
00:14:114 (1,2) - Little bit too linear flow. Maybe change up 2 a bit so its more interesting, something like

00:15:314 (4) - since this one doesn't have a drum beat attached, maybe you can change the shape, or simply make it a circle instead of kickslider
00:20:971 (2,3,4,5,6,7) - Make the curve a little neater, 00:21:057 (3,4) - these seem to make it a little flat
00:49:085 (1,2) - Would be nice if it was the same distance here and 00:49:428 (3,4) - here, your map is pretty geometric after all, and having it be equal distances would make it look nicer
00:56:971 (2,4) - I don't really like this overlap, I would space the jump out a bit more. In fact i think the whole section from 00:55:257 (1) - to 01:06:228 (1) - should be spaced out more because as of right now, the jump distances are about the same as the section starting from 00:44:285 (1) - here, whereas in fact, it is quite a bit more emphasized and louder due to the drum beat.
01:02:457 (1,2) - maybe copy paste rotate these to make it look the same
01:11:371 (2) - maybe make a bit more even in terms of all the anchor points. Pulling the starting point down a little should do the trick

also I think it would have a better effect if you pointed it downwards. It'll have more of the "drop" effect, yknow what i mean

in general, I think you could spread out your mapping a bit more. I didn't mention any specific issues, but if you ctrl-a your map, almost all of the notes appear to be in the center of the map. You have a few spread out jumps, but in general, your sliders and circles tend to just revolve around the middle. A good way to fix that, that I found, is to improve more on blankets and overlaps. By focusing on blankets, you can automatically place sliders or circles somewhere that is not near, not far from the blanket and thus will spread things out. Overlaps shouldn't really happen unless it's on purpose in my opinion. A lot of good mappers have a lot of overlaps, but the majority of them follow some sort of pattern and aren't done extremely often. If you overlap willy nilly, it starts to look messy, and most importantly start to cramp up the map, making it annoying to play (you're not moving your cursor across the map at any point, just circling around a small area) and hard to read. If you want to talk more about this, feel free to message me irc.

Another tip i suggest is to map more to the music, in terms of spacing emphasis and NC. If there are strong beats somewhere, make the spacing higher. Heck, even make the SV for sliders higher. If it's extremely emphasized, you can give it an NC of it's own. Otherwise NCs are used for measure down beats only. Again, if you have questions on spacing emphasis, find me in game as well

It's a great song, and a good map to start with. Keep it up and get this shit ranked for the waifus!!

It's true, my map seems a bit cramped and messy, and I've been wondering why for a while xd

I took a look at your Wagakki Band map, but I couldn't find anything wrong with the diffs (as they were too hard for me to play properly, but scanning through the editor didn't reveal any problems in my eyes), so that's a good sign for your map :p

I would suggest getting someone to hitsound this, the hitsounding just sounds really really off, it somewhat makes the voice of the singer unheard. I don't know if it's my volume but yeah, find someone for that

01:27:485 (3,4) - Any need for the curve on the fourth note here? there is a beat on the red tick that you could end the slider on. There is nothing that says ending slider points have to be on beat but, it would be better in a way.

The blankets, stacks and hit volumes I all agree with, but the triples seem justified for me, as the vocals are elongated for them, but maybe I can use reverse sliders instead :thinking: I'll try out both.

In the timespan between the 1 and 2 the music kinda stops so i would stack the 2 ontop of the 1. Then there is the 1/4 tripple afterwards and then a 1/2 beat which sounds kinda "dragged" so i would recommend using a slider there. In this way the music keeps on until here 01:08:628 -
You could try and try to fit the patterns more to the music there.
01:51:314 (8,1,2) - this translation to a square pattern looks awkward
01:54:571 (5,6) - I would make some distance between those rewerse slider, like a little jump
02:15:142 (3,4,5) - I just really dont like wide angle jumps. They take away the maps flow

-01:17:542 (2) - Make this the same size as 01:17:200 (1) - There'd have to be SV change then, and it'd be a bit awkward

-01:43:085 (5,1) - Don't let these overlap Oki

-02:01:428 (2) - Start a NC here instead of 02:01:085 (1) - NC fixed

-02:21:657 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - Make this stream evenly spaced. Suddenly spacing out like that doesn't make the stream look as neat. It's for aesthetics, I don't think it's too hard to follow even tho it's shifted over

-02:23:714 (1,2,3,4) - Keep the slider velocity here the same as the rest of the pattern fixed

-02:26:971 (4) - Change this slider to the rest of the kicksliders fixed

-02:53:200 (1) - The sudden SV change here can throw off players. Keep the SV the same as the previous slider pattern somewhat fixed

-03:39:142 (1) - Do not start a NC here It's to indicate the 1/4 sliders

-03:39:142 (1,2) - This looks a bit more neat

Some sliders are overdone, some shorter sliders should be replaced with circles, the jumps are kinda plain and times and the map itself is kinda blend.
I'll say go improve mapping jumps, I'm not trying to be mean, I'm trying to help you stop using ctrl+c ctrl+v (At least don't do those for jumps and just flip them)

I'm glad someone else had the same feeling about my jumps as I expressed in my map description :p

I always had a sneaking suspicion that my jumps were plain (but the ctrl-v concept is imo fine, as some jumps were copy-pasted because, well the song vocals and rhythm was literally copy-pasted by the artist)

Tried a more different approach to the jumps, however, I kept all the 1/4 sliders as that pretty much defines my map xd

• 00:36:742 (1,2,1,2) - Really hard to read, and idk if you're trying to stack them properly or just a tiny overlap which I can't even see clearly. Fix it
• 00:44:285 (1) - Need more spacing for intensity
• 01:04:857 (1) - 01:11:371 (1) - Must reduce the number of red anchors in order not to slow the slider down (unrankable issues)
• 01:08:452 - only this place has a missing circle?
• 01:12:400 (1,2,3) - 01:15:142 (1,2,3) - different pattern and different SV for the same rhythm, no please
