  1. normal-hitsamples might be to loud for a calm snail house song like this would go with drums or soft-hitnormals
  2. you really should hitsound important beats, things in extra can also be applid to lower diffs

General
  1. please use some custom combo colors
  2. remove shawn wasabi from the tags. It's the artist name, it's not needed in tags
  3. you have removed widescreen support from insane but have it everywhere else. Make it constant. Since you don't have storyboard you can just disable it everywhere or smth
  4. I don't know how lenient the actual practice of this is (as in is it rly necessary), but you should have Easy difficulty in your mapset (I believe AiMod complains about this)
  5. I think you can remove the last spinner from every diff. It's after a short break of nothing in the end of the song, and the random sounds in the background of the spinner aren't too important/consistent/whatnot. It feels better to end on the sudden break before than using these spinners after it
  6. you should make the Insane little easier. First of all, Insane and Extra are somewhat close to each other star rating -wise, and the gap is different compared to other difficulties, making the mapset spread little uneven (missing Easy diff makes it stand out even more). That's not the only thing tho. Currently, Insane is very similar to Extra overall: they have pretty much similar rhythms used, only thing making Extra rating harder is spacing. They even have the same small CS. Imo maps of 2 different difficulty levels should have more things between em than this
  7. while the maps mostly fine for me, I think you are using too many complex rhythms and patterns in easy difficulties. Due this the amount of objects is also pretty dense compared to the maps of same difficulty usually. That in itself is no problem imo tho, but it must be mapped taking this into consideration from the relevant skill-lvld player's perspection. Tho making the easiest difficulties little easier and less dense, it would make it easier to fix the last point I made about the Insane too.
  8. while you had nice visual patternsat times too, there were decent amount unnecessary visual plunders. I'm not going to point em all out, I'm gonna give few examples for you to work on then

  1. the slider velocity is pretty high for normal difficulty, consider lowering
  2. 00:00:865 (1,2,3,1) - it ends up overlapping itself. You could change it so that the first slider and the sliderend of the second are stacked for example.
  3. 00:04:240 (2,3,1) - same here, but this time you could perhaps blanket 00:05:365 (1) - with 00:04:240 (2) -
  4. 00:05:365 (1,2,1) - you could triangle these
  5. 00:12:865 (1,2,3) - ^
  6. 00:14:365 (1,2,3) - ^ (don't break the square you have after this tho)
  7. 00:16:240 (2,1) - unnecessary overlap
  8. 00:16:615 (3,1) - also could blanket these
  9. basically since the object density isn't too high, it's possible to blanket/triangle/make symmetric or any other visual pattern out of almost everything
  10. try to reuse the exact same sliders when using similar slider shapes, and try to use em at similar sections of music, consistently. In same way, use spacing consistently, especially in lower difficulties.
  11. the chorus sections might have too much random rhythms and overall objects for the targeted lvls of players but don't rly quote me on that
  12. the things I said about visuals are relevant on other diffs too, even if I don't say em

  2. this diff feels more like low spaced insane than hard imo, you should use little less intense rhythmical choices

  1. oh yeah same thing in Hard as in here. It would work better (and is usually mapped as such) with 1/2 sliders having 1/4 breaks between em. You have to change the spacing between them too to take that into consideration tho
  2. I would make the last chorus little less spicy since this ain't the hardest diff here
  3. if you change nothing else to differentiate Insane and Extra, atleast change the CS to little bigger here :)
Extra
  1. add all advice I have said to here as well. Here I'm just gonna give you few places where you can map something more interesting to make this stand out as the top diff compared to the Insane
  2. 00:07:802 (4,5,6) - these patterns actually have 1/8 triple under the circles 4 and 5. You could map it with smth like short slider instead of circle on the 4, so it plays about the same but looks more interesting.
  3. you could map the sounds at 00:19:802 - with smth
  4. 00:23:552 - same here
  5. 00:30:115 - ^
  6. 00:33:865 (1,2,3,1,2,3) - this was like, more intense in the Insane diff than here
  7. 00:45:865 - you could add stream from here onwards if you want, tho the sound justifying it ain't too important in the song
  8. yeah this last chorus is like about the same intensity as in the Insane. Do changes to either there or here, preferably in Insane.

    I basically remade the entire map according to your recommendations on slider velocity, visuals, rhythm, sliders and everything. I believe the quality of the map is much better now
Hard

  2. this diff feels more like low spaced insane than hard imo, you should use little less intense rhythmical choices I simplified some dense parts, but I still want this diff to be based on rhythm reading. The rhythm of the song is too interesting to be ignored for a Hard diff
  3. 00:27:115 (3,4,5,1) - you mapped these patterns mostly with some sliders in this diff, you could do the same for all of em Got changed anyway
Insane
  1. oh yeah same thing in Hard as in here. It would work better (and is usually mapped as such) with 1/2 sliders having 1/4 breaks between em. You have to change the spacing between them too to take that into consideration tho I'm not sure which part you're talking about

    while not a huge issue you can probably make easy and normal end on 01:54:490 - like every other diff

    as for general tips for mapping:
    you don't have to use grid snap (actually most people map without it for every diff) since it leads to distance snapping being buggy in most instances + looks aesthetically ugly 90% of the time
    from just glancing over extra it seems like you use distance snap too frequently as well -- distance snap is usually only used in easy and normal diffs (sometimes hard but that depends on a lot of things); if you distance snap everything in an extra you get a lack of emphasis on a lot of notes which is apparent throughout the diff

  • od 8 would be better here, having insane at od 7 and the extra is weird
    not going into aesthetics too much, but 00:02:740 (3) - stuff like this is really weird if you're going for a fully symmetrical / linear pattern; it suddenly curves up for no apparent reason compared to the rest of the pattern
    00:07:802 (4,5,6) - these triples aren't triples, 00:07:802 (4,5) - there's a 1/8 note in between these; i'd make the first two notes a 1/8 repeat instead, but what you have right now is fine
    00:10:240 (2) - i'd just make this a normal curve and not a red node curve lol
    00:13:240 (3) - clap / snare hit should be clickable here
    00:23:365 (1,2,3,4,5) - for reference, instead of making patterns like this by hand you can make a polygon shape using compose > create polygon circles (ctrl+shift+d) and edit the shape to your liking to make a star or whatever you want basically
    00:27:115 (3,4,5) - awkward rhythm introduction here, it goes from 1/1 to 3/4 suddenly but there's no visual indication in terms of spacing/patterning that it changes
    00:38:740 - you're missing REALLY strong beats here by not mapping this lol, i'd recommend you relook through the map and add these beats as necessary

    skipping a few

    01:23:365 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - why so big of spacing tho

    most of the issues i pointed about above go for basically the entire map; honestly in general the extra diff feels really unnecessary as the song doesn't really call for more than 4.5ish stars of mapping. everything else goes on the limit of overdone/overmapping. for a first for-rank map it definitely has potential but it'd need a lot more mods imo.

Sure this is a strong beat, but it's a base beat in the middle of a high-pitch melody, thus not so much audible and would feel weird to click it I think

This is "Trap" music genre, not dubstep.

I see you want to improve so I will be a bit harsh but reasonable.

The way Insane and extra are mapped right now most likely will not be ranked. The flow is very linear and Strong sounds and it lacks solid structure in general. Sorry if I'm too vague:
  1. Try making the difference in spacing between strong and weak sounds more pronounced. This and SV is what makes the map feel more like it's connected to music. For example claps here 00:13:615 (4) - 00:15:115 (4) - 00:16:615 (4) etc are fairly strong in this part but your map doesn't reflect it at all having 00:16:615 (4,5) - spaced equaly. I suggest deciding on a set distance for each sound and sticking to it inside the same part of the song. For example each time there is a strong clap in music the spacing is 1.4x or smth like that. That's just one way to do it but it's easiest to describe.
  2. Try making flow less linear. For example when there are two similar sounds separated by another (e.g. synth-clap-synth) you can place 2nd of similar sounds in same place making the player to return where he was.
  3. 00:19:052 (2) - there are no sound here btw, just noticed. Wasn't doing that kind of mod tbh
  4. 00:14:271 (6) - here and in similar places too. It's possible to rank an overmapped stuff but there is no need to do it here imo. 00:14:365 (7) - is big white tick and most of the time it is a strong sound. You may want to emphasize it more. By creating a slider like 00:14:271 (6) - you emphasize something that doesn't even have sound in music.
  5. Try creating more structured shapes. Can't really teach you how. You've got to have sense for it. For example 00:14:177 (6,7) - this looks bad considering you have 00:14:927 (3,4) - that looks fine. But then again 00:14:177 (6) - has no sound in music and 00:14:927 (3) - has just one and both of them mapped the same. Those kind of things are certanly unrankable.
  6. I recommend sticking to "same sound - same objects" principle. For example these 00:20:552 (2,3,4) - sound very similar to 00:19:240 (3,4) - yet they are circles. Wild problem with blanket btw 00:19:240 (3).
Same things apply for Insane diff and stylistic things to every diff.

I basically remapped this entire part of the Extra and Insane (from 00:12:865 (1) - to 00:21:865 (10) - ). To summarize I emphasize two kind of strong sounds (claps and drums) with hitsounds and with higher velocity sliders. The rest is mapped only by circles following the rythm of the instruments (not the voice) with patterns that I hope are consistent enough

Same things apply for Insane diff and stylistic things to every diff.

00:53:646 (4,5,6) - I don't get this. The slidder ends on no sound. I don't really get which part of the music I'm playing. It isn't hard to hit because the pattern is easy but there's no music behind it I can hear.

01:21:865 (1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5,1) - The shape is awkward and the spacing between the notes is inequal. Try curving it in a nicer shape and make sure the spacing stays the same.

01:48:115 (4,5,6,7,8,9,10) - Super awkard sequence. I feel like putting those next to each other makes it really hard to play. Maybe separating 01:48:677 (8,9,10) - from the rest could make it more readable.

If you look at previous mods, I first decided to change to 1/3 stream like in Extra but then put back this 1/4 stream instead. The reason is that this is the only 1/3 stream in the entire song and it causes big readability issues in my opinion. I'm keeping it simple in the Insane for now, even if this means cheating a bit with the rythm.
    01:12:115 (1,2,3) - ^ Same here for the sliders, although I could change the sliders to 1/3 without changing the stream as the sliders would be easier to read, still think this might be confusing. I need more advice on this part to decide cause idk :p

Delivering a long-ish mod for the Easy and Normal difficulties (you only wanted aesthetics mainly but I couldn't help but point out almost everything else).

[ General]
  1. I don't know how comfortable I feel about your metadata; is there a reliable/verifiable source for the artist name and title?
  2. I think Combo Colours '1' and '3' are a bit too alike.
  3. Your timing is a bit off to me, Offset 871 works best for me, but maybe that's just overly personal (while we're talking about mp3; at least cut the outro).
  4. 01:48:865 - Second Kiai should end here and not 01:49:052 - here in Easy.

[ Easy]
  1. 00:03:490 (4,2) - While good in theory, I don't know how well beginner players could read this. There are some instances where this is alright to use (in my own opinion; such as what you did 00:06:490 (4,1) - here), but I don't know how I'm leaning towards this. You want to make this difficulty as easy and simplistic as can be, and I don't think stacks are all that great to use in a difficulty of this skill level, all in all.
  2. 00:03:865 (1,2) - Imperfect blanket.
  3. 00:06:865 (1,3) - Did you mean to stack these?
  4. 00:07:615 (2,3) - Very very small pixel blanket near the sliderend.
  5. 00:08:365 (3,3) - These slider shapes aren't all that visually pleasing to look at, compared to the latter at the very least.
  6. 00:11:365 (3,1) - Where these meant to have a parallel? If so, then they don't really match up well 'side by side' so to say. When doing this you want to make sure what you did matches up well and neat when compared next to each other parallel-wise, which is very lacking here, demonstrated by the extra space in between the sliderheads in comparison to the sliderends.

    and this is (more or less) what you want to aim for
  7. 00:17:365 (3,4) - Different sound here; I wouldn't suggest making it 'exactly' to 00:14:365 (3,4) - . I'd use this rhythm instead.
  8. 00:24:865 (1,4,1,1,3) - I don't understand the 'claps' here when every other sound is pretty alike, the only other difference being the chord progression.
  9. 00:24:865 (1,2) - Rhythm here is pretty weird. For example, the transition here from 00:24:865 (1) - this note to the slider is uneasy since you're using different types of patterns for an equally as sound strong. More so; using this, you're missing out on quite a lot of beats that can be easily heard throughout 00:25:240 (2) - this slider. Maybe try using this rhythm instead?
  10. 00:27:115 (4) - This kind of ties in with the previous point; you're skipping over a lot of important sounds here (a good example of this would be the fact that the repeat doesn't land on any important sound; quite literally everything in this tiny section that should be mapped, even in the lowest tier of difficulty).
  11. 00:31:240 (1,2) - Did you also mean to stack this?
  12. 00:38:365 (3) - Whistle on sliderend sounds nice on this, just personal, though.
  13. 00:42:115 (4,2) - Blanket on this feels a tad too tight, compared to your other ones.
  14. 00:45:865 (1) - Give this slider some hitsounds to compensate for the other million sounds going on here as of now.
  15. 00:52:990 (2,3,4) - The parallel line here kills me, and even so I don't see you doing this in any other part of the map, which kinda stands out and looks like the elephant in the room in this difficulty, for me at least. I'd arrange like so, but you don't necessarily have to see from my point of view.
  16. 00:56:365 (3,1) - I'm sure you could find a blanket or a line or something for this, the aesthetics of these two side by side in the editor kills my eyes.
  17. 00:56:365 (3,5) - Don't really like how these almost come into contact with each other; maybe move '2' a bit to the left so you can adjust for a more 'comfortable' placement to '3'?
  18. 00:58:615 (2,4) - Really bad idea to do this in an Easy-level difficulty, like a really bad idea. I recommend to change it to anything else that's not what it is right now. New players can't read overlaps and stacks like this.
  19. 01:00:865 - I don't think anything here really calls for any mapping, but that's really just me.
  20. 01:10:615 (2,4) - Maybe blanket these by bending '2' and making it resemble '1'?
  21. 01:12:865 (5,1) - Swap NC's.

  27. 01:28:990 (3) - Why not replace this for a 1/2 slider? Even for an Easy, you're allowed to get away with a few fast sliders if it emphasises rhythm correctly.
  28. 01:34:990 (3,4) - Flow here is extremely contradictory to every other flow choice you've had in the difficulty so far (like 00:55:990 (2,3) - and 00:39:865 (1,2,3) -; I could really go on).
  29. 01:36:865 (1,2,3) - You could do something more interesting here with all the beats in the background; this is just pretty poor simplification (maybe with a repeat or something)?
  30. 01:37:615 (2,3,5,6,2,3,2,3,5,6,2,3) - I'd categorise this as a 'diff spike', seeing as this is the only time where you do this, making the difficulty just look unbalanced, and even so, skipping a lot of important rhythms that could and should be mapped here.
  31. 01:48:865 (1) - Lot of heavy beats here. Maybe add a drum sampleset from this point onward?
  32. 01:48:865 (1) - What happened to the Distance Snap here (1.0x to 0.80x). If this was intentional though, please note that most Easy difficulties should consist of one DS; it's a very rare occasion that multiple DS'es should be used in lower tier difficulties, and there are some scenarios that justify this, but seeing how you used it in this song, it really doesn't do it much justice and generally speaking, is a pretty bad idea. So all in all, I'd suggest making it consistent with 1.0x DS all the way through (shouldn't be too hard, right).
Overall, I really like your aesthetics, but the mapping concepts you use to display such are really weird for me.

I think the SV is quite a step up from Easy's.
Hitsounds in this differ from Easy's too; some examples would be whistles 00:24:490 (3,4) - here.
  1. 00:01:427 - I recommend you map this beat, seeing as how this is a 'Normal' and you can have more freedom over what to do in relation to an Easy (this would apply to wherever else it falls onward).
  2. 00:06:865 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1) - You could do something else here instead of normal notes. You want to have more density and overall technicality in a Normal than in an Easy; this part just kind of seems like an Easy + more aiming (you want to strive to not do that).
  3. 00:12:865 (1) - Kind of ties in with the point above; you could definitely do something more interesting here, for example, you could map the way more prominent vocals and emphasise that with a slider (hold with the "talking to strangers online-").
  4. 00:12:865 (1,1,1,1) - Yeah, pretty poor rhythm choice in all of these, such as the way these are all set up; this could slide as an Easy with more spacing, which is really bad in a mapset.
  5. 00:20:365 (1) - Weird how you only map this once, making it the odd one out. This is the kind of rhythm you should be using (in my opinion) but it's the fewest you actually... use. I suggest mapping more of these, for reasons which I've explained well above this point.
  6. 00:21:115 (2,3,1) - This is really nice though o:
  7. 00:24:115 (2,3) - This is good, do more of this. It emphasises rhythm well, but I really wish I could say the same for the visual aspect. Maybe make them completely parallel to one another?
  8. 00:27:677 (4) - Add a whistle on this sliderend if you want to be consistent with your hitsounding.
  9. 00:30:115 (3) - Same sound; why not have a clap on both ends?
  10. 00:31:615 (2) - Mistake adding a normal sampleset here?
  11. 00:33:677 - Add a note here for consistency?
  12. 00:46:615 (3) - Remove whistle for consistency here too.
  13. 00:50:365 (1,3,4) - These aren't perfectly in-between if that was your intention, and even so if it wasn't, I think you should make it so since it looks better in terms of aesthetics.
  14. 01:00:865 - I don't think here calls for many sounds to map to, too.
  15. 01:11:365 (1,2,3) - These don't land on anything important, pretty bad rhythm simplification if you were to ask me. I'd change to a rhythm like this.
  16. 01:11:740 (2,1) - If you did the suggestion above, follow this one too, if not then move on to the next one, but I think the very least you could do here is to blanket these, because the way you try to avoid an overlap here leaves not much room for the note to be, looking bad and flowing pretty bad too, overall.
  17. 01:16:990 (4,4) - Why the clap here? Sounds pretty odd; at least have them repeat from sliderhead to sliderend for more emphasis.
  18. 01:30:115 - Highly suggest you map this beat to keep a constant rhythm. The way you stop is pretty bad (likewise to 01:36:115 - ).
  19. 01:36:302 (3,3) - Stack.
  20. 01:49:240 (2,4) - Dangerously close and don't like the flow here. There are a million things you could do here, but maybe place this note next to '3', but still high (like x:365|y:226)?
  21. 01:52:990 (4) - Move more to the left for flow?
  22. 01:54:115 (3) - Normal curve is better and cleaner.
Pretty decent in theory, but I recommend you focus more on the playability aspect of the map, rather than aesthetics.
