Heyo, first attempt at modding lel

General

- You need to map at least 2 standard difficulties in a map for it to be approved, one of which is an easy or normal difficulty

- The audio bitrate is higher than 192kbps. Consider recompressing to CBR 192kbps or VBR ~1.0

- The filesize is quite large, you might want to delete any unnecessary resources

- The background image quality seems a bit low, try something with more pixels for higher def, just for aesthetics

- The beatmap needs more tags. Just spam whatever you think is relevant lol.

- You don't need to put in the artist name in the song title section

Past-Past-Past Life

- 00:08:721 (4,5,6,7) - If you listen carefully, the distinct part in this section are triplet notes. Consider using extended sliders instead of 1/2 sliders to match the rhythm. It might also be good to use a new combo for players to be able to distinguish the rhythm easier.

- 00:11:405 (1) - Try widening the gap between this note and the previous to give a little jump. This will give players a little more challenge rather than just waiting like half a second for the note to appear.

- 00:18:194 (1) - Rope all these sliders into one combo; I don't think its necessary to isolate them.

- 00:21:668 (3) - Its a bit weird not to have any notes on the white tick before this note, it also throws off the rhythm of the next few notes. You could either place a circle there or widen the gap between combo 2 and 3.

- 00:21:984 (4) - This slider doesn't need to be extended, or it is too long. I suggest to just stick with 1/2 sliders or replace the last third of the slider with a circle.

- 00:23:089 (1) - Add a jump, there's a 1 second gap between this note and the previous but the gap is too small for it.

- 00:27:036 (5,6,7,8) - Reconsider your rhythm choices here. Its not really reflecting any particular rhythm in the song. I suggest trying to make it match the vocal line, or just use 1/2 sliders all the way.

- 00:31:773 (1) - Again, theres a 1/2 beat gap before this note. I know it fits the vocals but if you add another circle in between, it just gives it more fluency (notice how theres a continuous bass line too).

- 00:33:194 (1) - Add a bigger jump between this note and the previous (not necessary, but jumps are fun).

- 00:33:194 (1) - Adding larger gaps between these circles could make this section more fun and challenging.

- 00:36:510 (2) - The extended slider seems a bit weird here, its not corresponding to any particular rhythm in the song. Please reconsider.

- 00:47:878 (9) - ^

- 00:50:563 (1) - Larger jump

- 01:08:247 (1) - Use the same combo

- 01:27:747 (1) - This stream is missing one note before the slider. Or if you wanted to leave it that way, add a larger gap between the last stream note and slider.

- 01:34:931 (1) - There's lots of space that could be filled before this note. Also try not to use extended sliders that don't fit with the music.

- 01:37:300 (6) - No real need to stack these 3 notes here. In fact You should consider widening spaces between notes a bit more

- 01:42:668 (7) - Needs larger spacing so people don't mistake it for a stream.

- 02:10:773 (1) - Another gap before this note. Increase the gap or add a circle in between (this will reflect the momentum of the song).

- 03:20:563 (2) - Larger spacing pls

- 03:23:563 (6) - ^

- 03:35:721 (1) - Don't stack these two 2-note combos. It just doesn't feel right tbh. Add some spacing.

- 03:43:615 (1) - Make sure these two sliders match the rhythm of this section. The second one seems to end a bit late.

- 03:55:142 (1) - This return slider doesn't really match the song's rhythm. Try a different note or pattern to match the vocal line.

- 04:14:878 (1) - Use same combo for the next few sliders

- 04:19:615 (6) - Try revising your patterns to match the triplet rhythm that is pronounced in this section of the song.

You don't really have any distinct consistency in your patterns, if you want a nice and organised map then its better to think of patterns that can be repeated in certain sections of the song. Doing this will of course, completely change the map it is now, but its just a reminder for next time.

I probably missed out on a few more things that needed to be pointed out but somebody else can do that :P

Good job, really, but you have to edit some things. First of all, you need to add two more difficulties for get approved... or the BG, it dosen't exist, i don't know why...

The patterns that you have to adjust are
02:26:405 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,1) - In these patterns, the rhythm dosen't exist...

00:00:037 (1,2) - Ehm... What? Adjust the timing point

00:08:800 (4,5) - these two patterns are out of Timing/Rhythm

03:47:878 (1) - This slider goes really slow, if you can, put an inherited point of 1.20 or delete it

04:09:984 (2) - Out of timing, move it

04:13:300 (2,3,4) - Is a little bit hard if you're using the DT

04:20:563 (1,2,3,4,5) - Out of Timing/Rhythm

04:22:300 (5) - Out of Timing/Rhythm

ok so, few things (metadata related):

the title is supposed to be "Zen Zen Zense (English Version)", not including "Kimi no"
if you WERE to use the original artist as the beatmap artist, use "RADWIMPS" instead of "Radwimps"
otherwise, find the person who actually sang the cover and put his name in the thing

mapping-wise (focusing on Insane difficulty):

00:23:721 (3) - what exactly is this mapping? I understand this is an Insane difficulty, but I wouldn't expect this type of slider to be in a 4/4 guitar accompaniment
00:42:510 (1) - at least place this on the beginning of a measure (white tick) and possibly fix the orientation?
01:08:247 (1) - kiai should start HERE because this is the first beat of the chorus
... and then etc...

also you should consider watching this video because your map lacks any sort of concept regarding circular flow:

If you can, put a Time Break. A Distance Snap of x1.0 is commonly used because it gives the spacing a speed that's equal to the sliders. However, since you generally move your mouse faster than is necessary, 0.7x to 0.8x potentially gives better flow into the sliders (which is why 0.8x is the default).The slider velocity can vary greatly. Typically, 1.0x to 1.6x works well for a Normal, but at high BPMs you might want to use less than 1.0x. The slider velocity can vary greatly. Typically, 1.0x to 1.6x works well for a Normal, but at high BPMs you might want to use less than 1.0x. Your difficulty settings and slider velocity settings really depend on whether or not you have an Easy. If you have an Easy, then you want to make it harder than your Easy. If you don't have an Easy, you want to make it so that newbies can still play your map easily. In this map, i see so much error about this.

Hiya, random mod coming through because I love the english version of Zen Zen Zense~ <3

General
  1. There should be a red timing point at 03:45:509 to reset the metronome.
  2. Shouldn't the source be 君の名は。?
  3. No need to include RADWIMPS in tags because it's already included as the artist of the song, same for the title, it's already included as the title of the song anyways.
  4. Is a slider tick rate of 2 or 3 really necessary? 1 should be fine. Plus, it should also be consistent through your difficulties.
  5. According to AiMod, it says that the audio preview time conflicts with other difficulties. Please double-check and fix them all!
  6. New Combos should be reworked. There should be a NC on every big measure or something that requires emphasis.
  7. Turn off Widescreen Support in all difficulties if you are not planning on adding a storyboard to your mapset.
  8. For a NHI mapset, the normal difficulty * rating has to be below a star rating of 2.00.
  9. A lot of sliders have a hitsound placed on the whole body, I think you meant to place them on either the head or tail not all.
  10. Hitsounds do need work though. It's like random whistles being placed everywhere.
  11. I think your offset is weird, maybe it's just me.. ??
  12. AR 8 for Hard would play better with the fast 190 BPM.
  13. Check AiMod, there are kiai and some objects that are unsnapped in all difficulties.
  14. For Normal, there should not be any distance snap warnings in AiMod (Ctrl+Shift+A). DS should be consistent throughout the whole difficulty for Normal.

Insane
  1. The slider velocity in the timing panel should be looked at, 1.00 is not suitable for an Insane difficulty especially if the Hard and Normal's slider velocity is bigger than the hardest difficulty in this mapset.
  2. There are a lot of 1/1 gaps that are prominent throughout the whole song, it makes it too boring to play especially for an Insane. Spice things up more by closing some of those gaps.
  3. 00:08:878 (4,5) - Since it's an insane difficulty, map the 1/3s that are in this part rather than two long boring sliders.
  4. 00:11:405 (1,2) - plays better if it's a 1/2 slider then a circle.
  5. 00:15:668 (2,3,4,5) - plays much better if it's something like this because the 1/2 sliders you placed on the red ticks would be much better if it plays on the white tick since the drums are on there.
  6. 00:17:721 (1) - hmm why is there an NC here? the 1/3 here could be mapped but you're not doing that and so it doesn't require a NC.
  7. 00:19:931 (1,2) - map the 1/4 drums there, a stream would turn out to be fun in a insane difficulty. i feel like you're undermapping a lot of parts so far even though it's an insane diff. Also NC shouldn't be there on (1), should be on 00:20:247 (3) -.
  8. 00:20:878 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - try this.
  9. 00:22:615 (8) - should be a triple
  10. 00:32:088 (9) - should start on the white tick not red if you're mapping vocal which looks like you are, plus again it sounds better
  11. 00:32:720 - another triple that can be mapped or 1/4 pattern
  12. 00:34:299 (4,1) - bigger DS since there is a 1/1 gap
  13. 00:37:457 - this gap here ruins the momentum build with the fast vocals
  14. 00:37:930 - strong sound should not be ignored
  15. 00:42:667 (1) - why an extended slider? should be a buildup to the next section that is more intense than this section
  16. 00:42:983 - another strong sound
  17. 00:45:510 (1,2) - these 1/1 sliders that start off the section are too boring, consider using 1/2 sliders like this
  18. 00:48:194 (10) - should be on white tick 00:48:036 -
  19. 00:52:931 (2) - doesn't fit the section, the drums that are prominent in almost every white tick that are in this section should be mapped to rather than mapping to the held long vocal, plus even if you were mapping to the long vocal it should be on 00:53:088 - since it starts there.
  20. 00:54:509 - map this
  21. 00:54:668 (1) - the 1/4 sound is actually on 00:54:825 -.
  22. 01:04:457 (5) - mapping the held voice isn't a good choice here, possibly on the lower difficulties but not in an insane.
  23. 01:07:141 (9) - map the 1/4 drums as a stream here
  24. 01:08:878 (3) - ctrl+G
  25. 01:18:036 (4) - not a good choice because then ur missing out on the drums and the start of a new section of the kiai, "Even if every piece.." is similar to the beginning of the kiai, "Zen Zen Zense.."
  26. 01:20:878 (5) - you would miss out on the drum 01:21:193 -
  27. 01:27:825 (1,2,3,4) - xd suddenly you map a stream. but anyways I feel like (2) shouldn't be there because in the stream you're mapping to two different things. whatever the sound is on 01:27:825 - and the drums on 01:27:983 (3,4) - . because they are different, I feel like a circle + triple would play out much better and make more sense rhythmically.
  28. 01:31:300 (1,2,3) - it's a held vocal and there's not much to map to here so I suggest a extended slider or spinner or just leaving the section empty there is also fine.
  29. 01:32:247 (4) - nc
  30. 01:32:721 (6,7) - map it as a triplet
  31. 01:34:142 (3,4) - try a 1/1 slider

  39. 02:51:194 (1) - a jump would be better here than this since with this you're missing out on important drums
  40. 02:55:615 (10,11,1,2,3) - should be mapped as 1/3, image
  41. 03:41:247 (3,4,5,6,7,8,9) - map the 1/4 drums somehow like this, or using more 1/4 reverse sliders
  42. 03:43:615 (1,2) - they're not on the blue tick, they're on 1/3 ticks image
  43. 03:45:194 (1) - i'd delete because it's just a sigh, nothing too important or anything.
  44. 04:03:667 (1,2,3) - why r u mapping to the blue tick (2) all of a sudden?
  45. 04:04:930 (1) - move to white tick rather? since vocal starts there so it plays / sounds better?
  46. 04:10:141 (2) - two circles would be better on the white and red tick and because 04:10:457 - is nothing really
  47. 04:19:773 (1,2,3,4,5,1) - map to 1/3 since the drums are on there, listen closely
  48. 04:23:404 (1) - remove hitsounds on spinner, feels out of place.
I stopped listing things that would sound repetitive. : (

I didn't get to Hard or Normal but if you really want a mod on those, I can probably quickly look through them through IRC in-game. Find me and I'll happily do it! :)

The main problems are the placement of objects, rhythm choices, lack of emphasis, and DS.
I suggest some sort of remap but I wish you luck on the mapset~~!

  10. 00:32:088 (9) - should start on the white tick not red if you're mapping vocal which looks like you are, plus again it sounds better

  12. 00:34:299 (4,1) - bigger DS since there is a 1/1 gap
  13. 00:37:457 - this gap here ruins the momentum build with the fast vocals
  14. 00:37:930 - strong sound should not be ignored
  15. 00:42:667 (1) - why an extended slider? should be a buildup to the next section that is more intense than this section
  16. 00:42:983 - another strong sound
  17. 00:45:510 (1,2) - these 1/1 sliders that start off the section are too boring, consider using 1/2 sliders like this

  19. 00:52:931 (2) - doesn't fit the section, the drums that are prominent in almost every white tick that are in this section should be mapped to rather than mapping to the held long vocal, plus even if you were mapping to the long vocal it should be on 00:53:088 - since it starts there.

  27. 01:27:825 (1,2,3,4) - xd suddenly you map a stream. but anyways I feel like (2) shouldn't be there because in the stream you're mapping to two different things. whatever the sound is on 01:27:825 - and the drums on 01:27:983 (3,4) - . because they are different, I feel like a circle + triple would play out much better and make more sense rhythmically.
  28. 01:31:300 (1,2,3) - it's a held vocal and there's not much to map to here so I suggest a extended slider or spinner or just leaving the section empty there is also fine.

  30. 01:32:721 (6,7) - map it as a triplet
  31. 01:34:142 (3,4) - try a 1/1 slider
  32. 01:33:510 (1,2,3,4,1) - try this

  43. 03:45:194 (1) - i'd delete because it's just a sigh, nothing too important or anything.
  44. 04:03:667 (1,2,3) - why r u mapping to the blue tick (2) all of a sudden?
  45. 04:04:930 (1) - move to white tick rather? since vocal starts there so it plays / sounds better?
  46. 04:10:141 (2) - two circles would be better on the white and red tick and because 04:10:457 - is nothing really
  47. 04:19:773 (1,2,3,4,5,1) - map to 1/3 since the drums are on there, listen closely
  48. 04:23:404 (1) - remove hitsounds on spinner, feels out of place.

I didn't get to Hard or Normal but if you really want a mod on those, I can probably quickly look through them through IRC in-game. Find me and I'll happily do it! :)

The main problems are the placement of objects, rhythm choices, lack of emphasis, and DS.
I suggest some sort of remap but I wish you luck on the mapset~~!
