So i use the ORBITHD skin when playing taiko and i notice that like the upper 1/4 of the note is tearing and its super distracting not a small tear either like a pretty significant one. is this common for taiko now?

Try using 120fps limiter. I have screen tear problems quite a bit.

Most likely screen tearing. It's something to do with your computer's refresh rate. Try using a lower FPS -- I'm pretty sure VSync will fix this problem.
