Navigate to the install directory called "osu!". It should be under "C:" in program files or program files(x86).

Once you've found the osu! directory then run the repair and it should verify the games files and acquire the missing/broken ones.

If that fails then check add or remove a program and see if osu! is still listed. If it is then you'll want to backup your beatmaps and uninstall the game from that window so you can reinstall it again and import all your beatmaps.

If you need help importing your beatmaps you can reply to this thread or PM me however it should be as easy as moving the backed up beatmaps back into the songs folder and hitting F5 in the song selection menu.

Alternatively if you can't re-download the game the usual way then use this link for the installer.

Just wanted to say this
Current default filepath
C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\osu!
"C:" is your harddisk with osu! installed.

Old installer filepath
C:\Program Files\osu!
C:\Program Files(x86)\osu! (for 7 64-bit or 8)

Thanks for clarifying.

Try disabling your antivirus/firewall software for the duration of the osu! install.

Hello,
Have you tried the old installer? It fixes most of internet connectivity problems when you have an unstable internet.
https://m1.ppy.sh/release/osu!install.exe

Also,
you tried repairing osu?

Method 1: Launch Repair Dialog
  1. Hold down the Shift key on your keyboard.
  2. While holding Shift, double click the osu! icon on your desktop.
  3. Continue holding Shift until you see the recovery dialog prompt.
  4. From there, click on the "Repair osu!" option
Method 2: Shortcut
If you have the "repair osu!" Shortcut, opening that also works.

Method 3: Text document
You can also force the updater to run by creating a new text document in your osu! folder called "help". Right-click in an empty space in your osu! folder, and choose New > Text Document.
Name it help and then run osu! to start the updater in forced maintenance mode.
