Hold shift then double click osu! (The game) like you would normally do
Until a window pops up, you'll be greeted with options
Choose "repair osu!"

Could you provide more information in what happened after opening it in notepad? Did you accidentally edit or save it?

Though I don't know if this would help, delete osu!presence.db before trying again

If it still won't work, try reinstalling osu!

im going to reinstall osu

I also think that restarting osu! A lot of times would cause the window that was mentioned to appear.
Have you tried that? Whenever it crashes, press restart osu! Until it appears

still nothing
still the same window :o

That's weird. You haven't saved anything in notepad after you opened it?
Nothing should happen even if you changed the default program of the DLL files
If you changed anything it'd be a different case

Just make sure to backup just in case.

Download the osu.exe file from here https://osu.ppy.sh/release/osu!.exe
Then replace it with your old one, then try holding shift and opening it again
Then click "repair osu!"

You're welcome,
But don't double post when you already have a post as last
Just edit your latest post :)

When you get a crash window like that click the image and copy paste the crash log into a post here instead. Setting .dll files to open with notepad can't have caused this issue in the first place though, unless you changed some of its data with notepad and saved perhaps. Anyway, marking this resolved going off those lasts few posts.
