Background dim on 95% - Screen flashing up? Why?

I like to play with the background dim on around 95% ... For some reason I tend to see the notes better this way, whatever.

Anyways, when the background dim os not on 100% the screen/background/notes will flash up during "intense" parts of the song. Or right before a chorus starts.
Hope anyone knows what I mean

Can you disable that? I've basically disabled everything in the options, video, shaders, all that, but it still keeps flashing up.

Can anyone help?

You might get a more receptive response in the help forum, so when you have another question you'd like to ask, you should go there instead of this board~

For your question though, those particular flashes trigger from combobursts and kiai time, so they can't be disabled unless you go all the way with 100% background dim. I don't think there's any way around it, even if Shader Effects are disbaled.
