That's weird, I think it's either a hosting problem or the code you typed is wrong. What's the code that you are using?

Use the Img code, place the link in between.

Hope yours get fixed soon. ;)

Shigetora could also be a useful alternative place to upload your file and image-share.

The i.ppy.sh link that the offending "image" is the following, along with the error:
https://i.ppy.sh/310200cd1e108b78c530f4be42d7977f771b452e/687474703a2f2f692e696d6775722e636f6d2f653855494362622e676966
Content length exceeded

Not sure what that means though. :?

Have you tried a different image?

EDIT: I just remembered some bug or something with images and URL clicks? Either way, this i.ppy.sh link works (the one Lottichu posted), so use the following URL:

https://i.ppy.sh/9958cd5be87dde862d47c8618bd75e26084e153b/687474703a2f2f6936332e74696e797069632e636f6d2f326d38326935332e676966

That error means the filesize of the gif is too large. (avoids users posting a bandwidth hogging gifs in their user page)

There is an 6~ mb limit on the mirroring service we use.

This is intended behaviour. A better question would be as to why you need to have such huge gifs on your userpage, especially when a sizable quantity of the game's userbase can't reliably load images of that size so quickly.

well see i can say a smart*** remark but i wont just letting u know most people dont theres mb limit on gifs for the userpage and for reason the why i have such huge gifs isi mostly because i can and didnt know theres was a 6mb limit lol
Ephemeral
Feel free to link more gifs without embedding them, if they're above the mirror size limit.

see i don't like fighting with mods or arguing with mods bc theres mostly right and ik it wont end good for me in any shape but so whats the mirror size exactly LuL theres isn't a user page guide on all this lul so ya i see people with huge gifs with over 6mb FOR SURE so of course people think is right to have huge gifs got remember this a community base game and how do i lessen the mb size on a gif guessing you cant unless shorten the time frame on the gif right? or is it lowering the quality any who i have clue how do that if you can post any related posts on this then link

For one, I think osu!'s site is a bit more distinguished with having its contents mirrored on a service like i.ppy.sh. I think one factor with having a 6MB limit on images for the site is also on the osu!'s server end too, and less so much the user. While >6MB files can sure seem like a small drop of water in an ocean, having thousands of users upload content, especially huge ones, could take a more noticeable load. But it's really just speculative on my end here; our supporter monies could very well be supporting the server's content plans just fine, along with that jet. :P

I've found a site called EzGif that seems to simplify it down a little. Otherwise, I wonder if you'd just want to upload a clip or even make a gfycat with it. Though I know that's not as fun as having a direct image there.

Lowering the size of the gifs without reducing their quality probably isn't possible in most circumstances, sadly. I don't think we support gifv or webm either, so the best you could probably do is just have them linked with a flat hyperlink.

I tried with a 5.5 mb and a 4.7 mb gif and It didnt worked, still "Content length exceeded" :(

How?! :O

I tried changing the hosting site of the image on the HTML code, and It works, but that isn't a solution, since Im the only who sees it and no real change is made on the site and it gets un-done as soon as I refresh the page:

This is still not solved for me. Do I start a new issue post?

EDIT
: After recompressing and re-rendering over and over my banner gif, I got a 3 mb file, It works now, with some quality lost. I would still like an answer to my questions: A way to use flat hyperlink codes on the userpage, and a size limit confirmation for stuff hosted on i.ppy.sh (6 mb isnt the limit!).

Thank you C:

There's an fps limit too. 15fps max
You get "Content length exceeded" when fps is above 15fps

It happened to me too and it had 20fps 1mb gif
Making it to 15fps worked
