Hi, NM from queue.
I have some concerns about this Easy diff. Firstly, the distance spacing can be increased a bit cause right now the objects are placed quite near each other and that can make beginners confused if the objects are too close. Secondly, you have a lot of overlaps where one slider/circle overlaps another. This can confuse beginners as well since they can’t really see the slider’s body that well since it’s being hidden. This one bothered me the most: 01:05:096 (1) – Try to decrease the stacks as well. The last suggestion is mostly just to be safe. Stacking isn’t always supported in an Easy diff.
Overall this set is good. Not really anything major I suppose. I personally don’t think it’s quite ready for rank yet though. More mods would be a good idea.
If you have any questions regarding my mod, feel free to poke me in-game. Good Luck~!
General:
- You can remove one “opening” from the tags since it’s unnecessary to write it two times and you can also remove “Re:LieF” from the tags since it’s already in the source.
- You may not silence both sliderticks and sliderslides. This is unrankable. So rather remove the slidertick soundfile and keep the sliderslide file.
- The SV gap between Nowa’s diff and the insane bothered me a bit… but since you manually adjusted the SV during the diff it shouldn’t be too big of an issue. For future diffs rather make sure that the SV gap between diffs aren’t too big.
- 01:07:623 – to 01:12:675 – I don’t really understand why you didn’t add kiai time here. This is still part of the chorus and the music doesn’t get less intense, it actually keeps its intensity, so I highly suggest you add kiai here as well. The GD’ers as well except Yoshimaro.
Nowa's FloweR:
- Uncheck widescreen support. No SB and also to be consistent with other diffs.
- 01:30:360 –There’s an unnecessary green line here.
- 00:02:412 (2) –You missed a whistle on the head of this slider.
- 00:06:360 (3) -^
- 00:20:096 (3,4) –I suggest increasing the distance here a bit since the beat on the head of (4) is quite strong so it would be a good idea to emphasize it more.
- 00:21:360 (2) –I doubt this has to be snapped to 1/8. I listened to this at 25% closely and it sounds better if snapped to ¼. I can’t hear any other additional sounds. If you look at the insane diff, you’ll notice that this same slider is snapped to 1/4 and I agree with this.
- 00:31:781 (2,3,4) –Whistles should still be placed here since there is a piano in the background.
- 00:41:728 (4,5) –I don’t really see a reason to make the spacing here bigger than the rest. The intensity of the music still remains the same, so rather make the spacings here similar: 00:41:412 (2,3,4,5) –
- 00:43:781 (3,4) –Why is the spacing here smaller than the spacing here: 00:43:465 (1,2,3) - ? There is still a strong beat on the head of 00:43:939 (4) – so the spacing should at least be similar to 00:43:465 (1,2,3) –
- 00:45:360 (3,4) –I think the spacing here can be a bit bigger to emphasize (4) more.
- 00:48:675 (1) –Hmm, unnecessary NC imo.
- 00:54:202 (3,4) –This current flow looks a bit uncomfortable. Perhaps try a placement like this instead:
- 01:02:254 (6) –A NC is needed here to emphasize the sudden SV change otherwise players will get thrown off.
- 01:07:465 –It’s not really completely quiet here so leaving a gap here is a bit weird and disrupts flow. Also 01:07:623 (1) – is not spaced out enough. Players might think they have to click it earlier then they actually have to.
Insane:
- 00:03:044 - 00:03:202 - 00:09:517 - 00:57:254 - 01:29:570 – These are all unnecessary green lines.
- 00:10:781 (1) –It would be nice if you can increase the distance of this slider a bit more to emphasize that strong beat on the head of the slider more.
- 00:15:833 –This is a very important beat that has to be mapped out imo. I don’t see a reason to leave this empty since the beat is so strong.
- 00:19:465 -^
- 00:25:939 (5) –To be consistent with 00:23:412 (1) – you have to add NC here as well.
- 00:31:307 (3) –Imo the NC should rather be placed here since the piano starts here, so remove NC here: 00:30:991 (1) – then add NC here: 00:31:307 (3) – and then remove NC here: 00:31:623 (1) –
- 00:32:254 (5) –Since this beat sounds so strong it would be nice to rather space it out and not stack it to emphasize it.
- 00:33:044 –Rather not avoid this vocal since it can be heard clearly. I suggest using a pattern like this instead:
- 00:35:412 (3) -^
- 00:42:044 (3) –Perhaps add NC here as well to be consistent with the previous NC’s.
- 00:47:096 (3) -^
- 00:49:149 (7,1) –The distance between these two objects are quite small which is weird since the beat on (1) is quite strong and it’s also inconsistent with the previous part and the next part of the pattern.
- 00:49:623 (3,4) -^, the beat on (4) isn’t that strong but the spacing is still too small imo since the music’s intensity is strong.
- 00:57:202 (1) –This shouldn’t be snapped to 1/6. If you listen to this at 25% you’ll hear it has to be snapped to ¼ instead.
- 00:58:465 (3,4) –A bit more spacing here would be nice to emphasize that vocal on the head of (4) more.
- 01:15:675 (3) –The placement of this slider creates quite awkward flow from 01:15:517 (2) – Perhaps try something like this instead:
There’s probably other better options but I guess anything else will be better then the current placement.
Hard:
- 01:35:333 – Unnecessary green line.
- 00:18:202 (1) –Remove NC here and rather add NC here: 00:18:360 (2) – The strong beat is on (2) so it would make more sense.
- 00:20:570 (1) –Unnecessary NC imo.
- 00:20:254 (3,1,2) –Consider making the spacing between these three notes similar. It looks a bit weird if it isn’t.
- 00:22:781 (2,3,4) -^
- 00:31:307 (1,2,3,4) –The spacing here should be similar as well since the beat of the music remains the same here.
- 00:31:939 (4) –Maybe change the slider’s shape to something like this instead:
It’ll support 00:31:465 (2) – so also for consistency. - 00:32:570 (2) –Move the tail of this slider upwards a bit so it follows the flow from 00:32:254 (1) – Will play more comfortably.
- 00:40:939 (3,4,5,6) –It’s a bit weird for me that these notes are spaced out more than 00:31:307 (1,2,3,4) – but both of them share the same beat. Try to stay consistent.
- 00:42:202 –Quite an important beat. It’s weird not to map it out cause it sounds like it should.
- 00:48:360 (1) –Remove the NC here. It’s inconsistent with the rest of the NC’ing patterns.
- 00:57:202 (1) –The NC here isn’t really necessary since there’s no SV change. Rather remove the NC here.
- 00:57:202 (1,1) –This spacing looks quite big for a Hard diff… I suggest nerfing it just a bit.
- 01:06:991 (1) –Unnecessary NC
619's NormaL:
- Uncheck widescreen support.
- HP drain rate is too low for a Normal imo. 3 is normally used for Easy. Raise it to 4.
- 00:01:939 –An inherited timing point (green line) may not be placed on an uninherited timing point (red line) except if it’s to change the slider velocity, but in this case you didn’t change the SV so the green line must be removed.
- 01:29:728 – Unnecessary green line.
- 00:01:939 (1) –You missed a whistle on the tail of this slider.
- 00:06:991 (1) -^, the tail
- 00:07:939 (2) -^, there may be more but I’m not gonna point them out. Just go through the intro of the diff again and make sure you hitsounded all the piano sounds with whistles. You may have missed more in the rest of the diff as well, so it will probably be best to go through the whole diff and make sure all the pianos are hitsounded.
- 00:19:307 –It would be nice if you made this important beat clickable, but I’m also not so sure since it can be a problem if the pattern gets too long… Up to you.
Yoshimaro's EasY:
- Uncheck widescreen support.
- Please lower the AR. 4,5 is too big for an Easy. Highly consider lowering it to 3. Also, it’s not a good idea to have the OD be the same as the OD of Normal. 3 would fit nicely for an Easy.
- 00:01:939 –A green line shouldn’t be placed on a red line except to change the SV. Since you didn’t change the SV here, you have to remove the green line.
- 00:06:991 (1,3) –This stack may cause confusion for beginners since the (3) is hidden by the tail of (1) so it can be visually challenging. Consider doing this instead:
- 00:12:675 (2,3) –This slight overlap just doesn’t look good. Rather avoid it.
- 00:27:517 (1) –Move this slider to the left to about: X:408 Y:172 since the overlap with 00:25:307 (2) – don’t look that good and can be improved.
- 00:30:991 (3,3) –Hmm, this overlap is making me cringe. Rather place 00:33:517 (3) – somewhere else. It’ll look neater. Perhaps something like this:
- 00:54:991 (1) –Be careful not to let a slider’s body overlap itself cause it can create visualization problems since it’s difficult to see the slider’s path then.
- 01:30:360 (1) -^, it’s very difficult to see the path that this slider is following since the body is very mushed up together.
I have some concerns about this Easy diff.
