Seems like people don't understand what marathon and approval maps mean.
"DO NOT post marathon maps or maps for approval" (= 1 difficulty maps of any kind)
They might be moved to the "Ranked" section instead of "Approved" nowadays, but they still are approved overall, not ranked, as it's not a mapset that consists of at least 2 difficulties. In Marathon or Approval maps, the mapper has more freedom in regards to RC and unusual mapping is considered as "okay" enough for it to be approved (ranked nowadays). But due to the vast amount of such single difficulty maps, staff decided to move it to the "Ranked" section instead. I hope this is finally clear now. I don't want to end up disqualifying half of the posted entries in every round only because of a misunderstanding.
