hey guys, i just got my new tablet recently and i had a few questions on it (its the huion h420) i was wondering if i could hover with the pen instead of making direct contact with the tablet, and i want to know if there are any extra drivers i need besides the main driver for the tablet.

I can't help you cause I don't know anything about tablets, but if you don't get anything helpful here you should probably go over to the help forum (5). Technically General Discussion is non-osu! related topics

Yes, you can hover with your pen above your tablet.
Usually the recognision area is about 5-10cm above your tablet
There are two seperate playstyles,
Dragging: Playing with your pen on the tablet and Hovering: What you described
