144hz with GTX 760?

So, i dunno if this topic is in the right section, but i will ask anyways.

I have a GTX 760 and 4 i5 Processors, and i want to buy a 144hz monitor, but my friend said it wont work because the GTX 760 cant handle 144hz.

Can someon help me out?

Your friend is stupid

If your card supports a high bandwidth connection such as HDMI 2.0 or Displayport, it supports 144hz. Whether it can REACH 144fps is an entirely different question but oss is not difficult to run.
