1) you could have left at least the background SB. I know lyrics were messed up, but the other effects were really cool :/
2) isn't there a better BG for Sotarks' diff. No matter how I see the song, it can't fit well with a happy BG like that (and loli Miku too, wut), lol

I went over all the diffs while the final map in the set is imo the worst kind of mapping no offense there is nothing breaking the RC so i would love to push this one through..... I just need to find out if the one a day limit applies to me.

Standards have changed a lot, ztrot. Maps are no longer fine if they're "rankable" anymore. They need to fit perceptions and be more consistent and clean now. That's Just How It Is Now and while I agree it's kind of horseshit, it also means that maps that are kind of crap (like this one) have a harder time just bustling right on through the process on faith and begorrah alone.

TL;DR: Popping for spacing on the top three diffs, the normal, and the set not being quite ready in my eyes.
Modding top down because I really really don't want to mod the normal so I'm procrastinating.

[General]
  1. The red line at the beginning of the kiai is unnecessary, in fact it makes the map too early. Why is it there?
[Sotarks' Extra]
  1. I'd change your 1,2,4 combo colors to not blend with the BG quite as much.
  2. 00:37:105 (4,5,1,2,3) - This seems like its not getting enough spacing compare to the quiter/clamer intro parts, maybe a slight buff would be in order?
  3. 00:38:630 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1) - Let's break this down.
    1. The main issue with this pattern is how you're interpreting it. I can't quite get it so I'm going to mention how I think it should be interpreted and then how you'd go about that, and then I'll mod what you have now in regards to what I think you're attempting to do.
    2. In my opinion, the best way to approach this pattern is based on pitch, it starts at the peak and slowly works its way down before reaching the slider, so 00:38:630 (1,2,1,2) - would be the largest, 00:39:308 (1,2,1,2) - would be smaller, 00:39:986 (1,2,1,2) - would be even smaller, 00:40:664 (1,2,1,2) - would be the smallest. Another point to note with this interpretation is that each 1,2 in the group should be the same size since 00:38:630 (1,2) - and 00:38:969 (1,2) - are the same pitch.
    3. With how you have it now, you're getting spacing here 00:40:664 (1,2,1,2) - from literally nothing in the song, at all. The drums keep intensity, the pitch goes downward, the vocals die down, theres no reason for a buff. The only reasoning I could figure would be her vocals, but even those aren't intense, like I said. I think it'd make more sense to go with my suggestion above just for fluidity, because if you are following her vocals it shouldn't be 1/2 spam anyway.
  4. 00:41:681 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,3,4) - Now this one, let's break it down.
    1. I'm not quite sure where the spacing concept is coming from here, either. I get that it's a build up, and it plays kind of like a build up, but the spacing changes themselves and when they get bigger seem very arbitrary. Everything until you get to here 00:43:715 (1,2,3,4) - seems more or less like the same pattern. Maybe buff the 2nd and 3rd group of 4 to better transition into 00:43:715 (1,2,3,4) - and make the buildup feel more consistent? Additionally, make sure that the largest jumps on the map (00:45:410 (1,2,1,2) - ) don't exceed the previously mentioned part above (the 00:38:630 (1,2,1,2) - part) since those are more intense (more punctual, more pronounced, louder drums, etc). Having them around the same peak-distances would be the best method IMO.
    2. In general, the NC's here are also super screwed, NC on the vocals/guitar, not on whatever it is now. 00:42:020 (3) - These.
    3. 00:45:749 (1,2,1,2,3,4) - I don't get this pattern at all. Spacing wise I like the concept but execution it plays kind of like a clunky back and forth with no real direction. Try moving the 3,4 elsewhere and I think that'll easily fix your problem. (I can go more into this if needed but theres no need for a paragraph IMO.)
  5. 00:50:834 (1,2,1,2) - The guitar here is muffled and not accompanied by any drums or vocals, but is given similar spacing to the more intense sections that we saw earlier. I think a spacing nerf here would be nice, but the concept itself is fine.
  6. Okay so the kiai is mostly fine though there is a key issue that you can choose. Key issue one would be that 00:52:164 (1) - to 01:07:079 (7) - is slightly under-spaced and that 01:07:757 (1) - to 01:13:519 (7) - is fine, the other option would be vice versa. Basically, my reasoning here is that the second part is much less intense, theres less stress on vocals, guitar is quieter, less drum emphasis, etc. However, as it's mapped now, it's given approximately the same emphasis which is a big no-no from an interpretation stand point. Honestly, how you fix this is up to you (buff the beginning or nerf that second part), but I highly recommend doing one of the two.
  7. 01:29:791 (5,1) - Nerf the spacing here, it's a bit crazy for not really landing on anything particular.
  8. You should try using the entire map more, not just the center :p
[HB's Extra]
  1. 00:26:427 (1) - Having this so far away from the 00:26:088 (1,2) - at such an obtuse angle makes this pattern a lot more intense than it needs to be according to the music. Move this slider up and left a bit to be closer to 00:26:088 (1,2) - and to just in general flow a bit smoother.
  2. 00:38:630 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2) - I recommend you just read the paragraph of text I wrote about Sotark's diff here, because it applies to yours too. The patterning here is somewhat random and makes no sense, not to mention the flow change at 00:39:308 (1,2,1,2) - here makes no sense at all. You go from an up-down motion to suddenly a triangular motion in the blink of an eye. I'm not really sure why but it doesn't fit the song and feels jarring.
[Yuzuriha's Insane]
  1. 00:14:223 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - The spacing here is way too large, it's literally one of the calmest parts of the song and it's a fairly dense rhythm, you don't need large spacing. At the very least, make the pattern smaller than 00:25:071 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - which is more intense.
  2. 00:44:732 (5,6,7,8) - Where'd the weird 6>7>8 flow come from? It's kind of out of left field, wouldn't a more triangular/zig-zag approach like before work better?
  3. 00:58:943 (1,2,3,4,5) - What rhythm are you following here? It seems like you aren't following vocals or drums.

because i don't want to map the ending to make the easy simple, and ending the spinner on the snare like i id for the other diffs doesnt sound right, because i am not emphasizing
a very strong beat with the spinner ending on a snare

i adjusted the distances to reflect the new vocals a little better, and that triangle flow is pretty ok, it flows into the next object well

and that first part of my kiai i wanna keep aswell and think that the spacing and emphasis is fine imo

overall cryptic i think you have a pretty large subjective way about how spacing and emphasis should be, you're giving too much important to minor spacing and emphasis issues that doesn't even affect the game. as a player emphasis is when you have stress and you start feeling the music and it become harder,
changing pixel spacing in calm parts or what so ever won't affect anything, same for a jump section, keeping an itnense rythmn of 1/2 for 5sec is enough emphasized rythmn wise, don't need to have nazi spacing thingy.

Gap b/t normal and hard isn't unreasonably large, xr. But an advanced wouldn't be a terrible idea if the mapper had a high quality one.

@Sotarks: My interpretation of spacing is very methodical, albeit not objective. I can't really call it objective since the way I look at maps isn't the same way that you would look at a map, or a mapper would look at his own. With that being said, I would at least like to say that whenever I mod a map I look at every section and list every point with one goal in mine: "Interpreting the song as effectively as possible." So while player stress is something I take into account, actual spacing/aesthetics are equally important in regards to interpretation. I'm not a huge fan that you didn't fix the buildup or the 12,1234 part I mentioned, but it's fine. Also, thanks for getting the Lucio reference.

To the rest, I don't really have time to delve into this further, so Nao can rebubble if he wants. I heavily encourage the qualifying BN to consider spread between normal > hard and the red line at the beginning of the kiai, though. I'm fairly confident that red line is not needed.

As for sotark's diff's 00:41:681 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,3,4) - I think it's completely fine. The drummer is building up in the song to build up tension so that the chorus releases tension. The map interprets this by putting quite large unnormal spacing for tension and relatively normal spacing for release. Though you could objectively interpret that it would be better to nerf this, it's also possible to objectively see this as a correct interpretation. It all depends on what Sotarks wanted to do with his diff, and distance isn't so important in this case, I feel.

As for spread gap inbetween normal and hard, it's not terrible and it's probably fine to rank, but it would be desirable to have something in between. Normal has very consistent 1/2 focus, and hard has a little bit of 1/4, perhaps slightly much? Creating that gap.
