One think that may also help with improving rhythm sense, or is good in general is to have effect volume louder than the music itself. I myself have 50 music, 100 effects and 100 master.
But what am i to help with acc, when i myself have only decent acc?
I have music+effects always on the same volume so I guess unless you're talking about an actual high level of gameplay with 5*+HR and stuff it doesn't matter that much.
Then again I'm also playing with only 70% dim, have hitlighting and storyboards enabled and don't use custom click-hitsounds from cookiezi-skin or whatnot so well...Play more I suppose.

Lower acc and high rank means that they can play the game, not just farm.
