1366x768 osu! window & 1920x1080 screen

I'm considering a smaller window and using full area since i'm using almost the entire tablet area that force proportions fits to anyways.

For 3 years I used a tiny area and jumps weren't easy to be precise with. Yeah I was moving around quickly, but when tricky patterns came up I had to grip my pen to death to make sure I was precise. I realized playing full tablet just required more use of the arm instead of all fingers. Switching over was difficult at first, but after extensive playing with a full area it's very rewarding. I actually find it more fun too because you can really get into jumps.

I really would advise every play to play full tablet at least for a week to see how they feel about. Reducing the screen are and not the tablet area can make it more comfortable as well (if you're playing windowed that is). Fullscreen you can disabl GPU scaling and then lower the osu! Resolution until you feel comfortable with it.
I used to have an area similar to Cookiezi's (my old area) and I noticed that my cursor was super-shaky when I played. It may have been my grip, but I noticed that it became much more steady and landing jumps were more reliable when I changed back to the settings that were default on my laptop (the screencap I posted earlier is replicating those settings on my desktop).

Osu: Full screen.

I tried Many areas (Including Full and one really small), but this is the one I like the most :3

I find if you're playing with a large resolution the inputs get misplaced because you're not moving the same distance as you are with your tablet.
Force proportions fixes that.

Osu resolution is fullscreen. When I play with forced proportions I get input delay, but the area is identical to with it on.

As you might have guessed, I play fullscreen (borderless).

Full area.

I used to play in a window, but since I switched to fullscreen I've found it so much easier to move around.

Maybe I should try out the full area sometime.

Too lazy to post pics.
I use the smallest area available, and put it near the center.

my area;
i think it's easier to play with a small area. well, it's a personal preference
easy and more inaccurate ;)
PlasticSmoothie
I'd love to learn to play with a bigger area for more accuracy... but... I'm too impatient to re-learn muscle memory

Increased the size to this just yesterday, still pretty small but it's comfortable.

I use just about 1/3 of my tablet.

Question of all those full area players out there. 1. How big is your tablet?
2. How the hell can you only move your wrist if your get a jump with a 4 corners of the screen? My wrist hurts when I bring it to the bottom right hand corner (my hand is around bottom middle-right hand side of the tablet), and my pen gets too high for it to register when I move my pen to the top of my tablet.

it really does depend on how you grip your pen

I tried full area for a couple of weeks before my break and after I picked up osu! again, but I didn't get comfortable with it and changed my area to a smaller size again.

I also found this useful for drawing and making edits

Would it be better to have windowed game and full area or full screen game with smaller area on tablet in peoples opinions?
Me168
I use an Intuos Pen & Touch, Full Area with osu being Fullscreen on my computer, and I drag my Pen rather than hovering
quaternary
I have this 6x8" off-brand tablet blessed with the inability to make the working area smaller :/ full area for me.
I play 1024x768 windowed in the center of a 1280x1024 screen as well.

If you think about it the larger your tablet area the more accurate your movements will be. Your margin of error should go down, That said I play on a full tablet with a smaller window as with dual screen's stuff sometimes tries to open behind the game but won't appear on top so I have to spend ages doing Alt+Tab to get be able to Insert osu! to the hidden Icon's tray. This issue only happens on Dual screen's not sure why.

On topic

I use full tablet and hover. Learned to hover so that I don't have to buy nibs

Tiny. Really tiny.

Some people must be moving their pen less than two centimeters! At the same time, "full area" is sometimes too big... Really depends the your tablet. On my (slightly old) Wacom Bamboo - Medium, this area that I use is 11cm wide. I figured I would start at a reasonable size... One where it forced me to move my hand. Something that I read a while back about handwriting said that some people move their whole arm when writing and some just move their fingers... You're more likely to have messier handwriting if you write with your fingers supposedly. I write with my fingers but I try to force myself to a larger area on Osu so maybe it'll actually be useful to me one day with my drawing!

I'm pretty sure that small precise repetitive movements with your wrist is a fast track to RSI anyway.

1920x1080 btw. I've no idea what the benefit of having force proportions off would be. I don't like moving up and down my tablet as much as left/right so square would be a nightmare!

I'm still a noob but I find jumps fairly easy to hit accurately at this size. I'm struggling a little on smaller circles on some maps with HR so I can't imagine wanting to have a smaller tablet area!
