[Archived] 20 k osu! maps + all my skins (50 GB) randomly just...gone?

Problem Details: I just installed a game, restarted my PC a few times and when I started osu! it was running in an incredibly low resolution, I was logged out, and all my skins / data was gone. 30 k beatmaps were somehow recovered but the rest (had around 50 k) are gone as well. What just happened?

Are they in the recycle bin?
Do you maybe know one of the 'removed' files? Try searching for the file in the C drive (or if you installed osu on an other one, search for it there). If you can't find it, I highly doubt you can get them back, aside from mass redownloading them. Good thing you are a supporter, so you can use the "Ranked (Played)" search in Osu!Direct/Beatmap listing on the web

No they're not, checked several times, would've been pretty weird though.

As a matter of fact the folders still exist. All of them. The thing is the data INSIDE the folders just got randomly deleted.
It's the same for every skin and 20 thousand beatmaps. They just disappeared. I know that I probably won't get them
back and that's seriously not what's bothering me, what's really bothering me is the fact that I don't know how this happened

That's quite weird
Usually, when skins/maps are deleted, the folders themselves are deleted as well...

What's even weirder is that this is happening for the second time, and it seems as if the folders were deleted quite randomly. Like, my Fallout 4 seems to be gone as well and I have no idea how. It wasn't even close to the osu! folder. Just random files disappearing at random moments on random parts of any of my 2 hard disks, except my external hard disk. Once happened with some important folders a while back and it really made me upset, I think it could be because of Windows 10 (some users are experiencing similiar issues) but I'm not quite sure yet. I'm definitely gonna do some research.
