I recommend HD , it does not realy change the map itself + it's nice to start early with it to master it faster, as long as you're aiming for a high accu.

Early on you should probably play Hidden or nomod honestly. Hidden won't screw you up like HR or DT will, plus if it helps you learn to pay more attention to the music it'll help your acc.
