i've been wondering, are .gif avatars really allowed in osu? some say that its prohibited, but im really not sure about it

if ever gif avatars are allowed, im making sure that the gif avatar isn't:
flashy,
annoying,
or sexual.

so are animated avatars fine? if so, are the conditions (that i stated) enough for it to be allowed?

gif avatars are fine as long as they don't break any rules.

They won't animate ingame though.

Used to not be allowed, it is now though, don't worry.
