Probably in that order. Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell is an honorable mention as well.

I regret that I made this post. :cry:

The main aim of this post is to create a survey of popular female characters, and in turn, create an analysis of the common characteristic of popular female characters and see what the causes of their popularity. But people post here just without constructive criticism.

This thread is now only a name list, it does not provide useful information, successful entertainment, or new perspectives we can look into.

Then here is a serious one ^^.

Motoko Kusanagi, from "Ghost in the shell".

She is a serious characher, being the protaganist in the anime and the two movies.

She is a cyborg in a world were noone can say the definition of a human being.

And most interesting of all: She questions wether she is real, or if her first memories are programmed beforehand.

Seriously, i reccomend the anime to anyone.

1. She's unbelievably beautiful and very stylish
2. She's a powerful magic user who was brave enough to act as Saber's master in public for Kiritsugu
3. She's kind, caring (especially towards her daughter Ilya), self-sacrificing, brave, playful, and elegant like a lady yet with the innocent nature of a child

I don't know, really. At the same time I don't know how to explain why she's my favourite character whilst on the other hand there are so many reasons she is.
