same here, can't even play dddkkkdddkkk

Different players do this different ways, but the way I break patterns like that down is by both keeping count of how many dons / kats are left before I need to switch, and breaking patterns down into smaller patterns that I know how to play. ddkddkkdkkddkdd for example could be seen as ddkdd kkdkk ddkdd played in quick succession.

I think it's possible to train some of those maps on HT.
That way it's possible to have time to "think".
But normally I just hit the circles as long as i need to,
then switch if I see one of another color approaching.

I think this map:

On HT is good for advanced players to learn how to do these streams
(I'm currently training on this map as well)

I would play your pattern (ddkdkkdkdkk)
as cxvcvycvcvy
however this is not really correct.
As far as I know the correct version would be.
cxvxvycycyv
but I can't get used to that.

Note: On my keyboard y and z are swapped.

But really it's just about training how to switch from the current circles your playing to the other circles.
Once you can do this flawless there is nothing in your way.
Like you shouldn't need to think which hand your going to use next,
you should always use hand you were not using during your last hit.
And then you only need to identify the color.
Sounds easy.
Is not.

And unfortunately this game is more or less just about training and improving.

i second that HT is one of the best ways to practice at this game

HT is severely underrated, take a 180bpm map for example. if you get dense patterns at that bpm it can be difficult to read for a newer player. slap on HT and it turns into 135bpm which is usually much more manageable.

learn how to play the patterns at lower bpm and your fingers will get training for how to play them. play them enough and of course you'll eventually be able to go faster. after some time practicing you'll be able to play the maps at normal speed with no problems.
