  1. Kaifinsane needs to be renamed to Kaifin's Insane, I talked with other nominators and QATs about this.
  2. Why do you need a negative offset??

tragic something

  1. 00:35:315 (5,7,8,9) - the stack leniency of the triplet makes an uneven stack.
  2. 01:50:502 (4,6,7,1) - ^
  3. 01:52:259 (6,2,3,4) - ^
Insane

  1. 00:01:921 (1,2,3,4) - about the overlaps in this diff, I had a discussion with other BNs and QATs, while the minory saids it's fine, the
majority says isn't fine, because the slider patch is almost hidden completely, I had a few people to test the map (people supposed to play this lvl of difficulty) and most of them missread the overlaps. I'll be honest, probably you can find someone who agree with this, but I personally don't, since I firmely believe that those overlaps hurts the readability alot.
I can agree with something like this: https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/7997539

  2. 00:28:675 (1,1) - the sv changes are also really tricky to read, maybe do some kind of color hack or change the slider shape of them? the main problem is that the slow sliders looks visually the same as the fast ones.
  3. 00:39:709 (3) - okay the other problem is the rhythm, I don't get what are you trying to follow 00:39:709 (3) - 00:44:689 (3) - etc, they aren't follow the vocals or the more prominent sounds, but ignoring them, idk if you do that for the sake of the patterns, but it doesn't work rhythmically talking, there are more btw
  4. 00:23:012 (1,2) - what happen with the spacing? the sound at 2 is the same as other parts where the spacing was bigger, for example 00:24:184 (2) - etc.
  5. 00:39:221 (1,2) - the NC should be at 2, I understand the vocal thing, but starting the kiai without a NC is weird. 01:41:714 (1,2) - Same
popping over the bolded things, feel free to catch me in game if you want to discuss something

  2. Why do you need a negative offset??
Insane

  1. 00:01:921 (1,2,3,4) - about the overlaps in this diff, I had a discussion with other BNs and QATs, while the minory saids it's fine, the
majority says isn't fine, because the slider patch is almost hidden completely, I had a few people to test the map (people supposed to play this lvl of difficulty) and most of them missread the overlaps. I'll be honest, probably you can find someone who agree with this, but I personally don't, since I firmely believe that those overlaps hurts the readability alot. this is the introduction of the gimmick that is used throughout the entire map: if the player does not understand on sightread they will literally retry the map and go OH that's how it works! then they will be set to play the rest of the map because the same gimmick is used throughout the whole thing, the map is BASED around the gimmick and changing it at the start especially would make it unfair when it is used later
I can agree with something like this: https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/7997539

  2. 00:28:675 (1,1) - the sv changes are also really tricky to read, maybe do some kind of color hack or change the slider shape of them? the main problem is that the slow sliders looks visually the same as the fast ones. if you notice that the notes are NC'd differently, this is the "colour hax" that you are suggesting to make this readable, having them be in the exact same place with the exact same shape is what gives these notes their special emphasis that goes with the song's repeated theme, and it's perfectly readable
  3. 00:39:709 (3) - okay the other problem is the rhythm, I don't get what are you trying to follow 00:39:709 (3) - 00:44:689 (3) - etc, they aren't follow the vocals or the more prominent sounds, but ignoring them, idk if you do that for the sake of the patterns, but it doesn't work rhythmically talking, there are more btw this was the rhythm i was trying to follow but like it's not exactly this snap but not snapped on the white tick either?? i think this current rhythm is the closest i can get to the vocal while still having it be playable, thats what i'm trying to follow but the right snap for the vocal would be having the note start on 00:39:758 - which would make the pattern unnecessarily complicated to read and play in my opinion, i would consider snapping it to the blue tick here as simplification rather than ignoring the song when it's very clear to the player that it's following the vocals, plus the slider leniency means that this snap just makes it easier to play for the player, but i can see the justification behind your point: you should take a closer listen if you don't get what i'm following though hopefully the picture helps explain it
  4. 00:23:012 (1,2) - what happen with the spacing? the sound at 2 is the same as other parts where the spacing was bigger, for example 00:24:184 (2) - etc. compare the spacing of this object to the spacing of 00:16:763 (1,2) - and 00:19:887 (1,2) - , 00:19:887 (1,2) - literally is the same spacing because it's copy pasted in a square..... the spacing is lower for more emphasis on the flow, how it flows through without the repeat, it's a good feeling and it gives more than enough emphasis after the repeated jumps, if i buffed the spacing it would feel awkward and unnatural for the player
  5. 00:39:221 (1,2) - the NC should be at 2, I understand the vocal thing, but starting the kiai without a NC is weird. 01:41:714 (1,2) - Same
it's fine to me: NCing twice would look weird and not NCing 00:39:221 (1) - at all would look even weirder, so it really cant be NC'd any other way

popping over the bolded things, feel free to catch me in game if you want to discuss somethingnone of these issues are unrankable unless you have any other justification or reply to my response: the main issue honestly is an issue of spread, because my diff is more supplemental than spread friendly, but i think that the simplicity of the top diff makes it okay in my eyes

The later ones in the map work better, because the SV difference makes more notable the next slider (also take in consideration that the later ones aren't stacked next to each other), in the first set of sliders the overlaps just let you see a bit of the tail which is the problem, if you make the slider sizes a bit bigger from the previous ones that could work better
  2. 00:39:709 (3) - okay the other problem is the rhythm, I don't get what are you trying to follow 00:39:709 (3) - 00:44:689 (3) - etc, they aren't follow the vocals or the more prominent sounds, but ignoring them, idk if you do that for the sake of the patterns, but it doesn't work rhythmically talking, there are more btw oh SHIT u right fuck i thought the note was a 1/4 beat earlier my mistake sorry, fixing the patterns

it's fine to me: NCing twice would look weird and not NCing 00:39:221 (1) - at all would look even weirder, so it really cant be NC'd any other way it's still weird lol, but I guess I do some weird comboing sometimes so I'd let it pass

popping over the bolded things, feel free to catch me in game if you want to discuss somethingnone of these issues are unrankable unless you have any other justification or reply to my response: the main issue honestly is an issue of spread, because my diff is more supplemental than spread friendly, but i think that the simplicity of the top diff makes it okay in my eyes BNs can pop over quality issues or 'subjective' problems to start a discussion and posible solution to these, the diff name, overlaps and the rhythms at your kiais are a enough reason for open a discussion about it
:?
Edit: I didn't notice that you edited your post, my problem with the rhythms are: 1 you're ignoring obvious strong sounds and mapping to tiny sounds at the blue ticks. 2 you're ignoring the vocals, what you hear starting previous the white tick is just her breath.
Kaifin
any conscious player will tell you that the sliders in the opening are fine, the target audience of this map is obviously higher than the star rating (as stated in the first reply) so don't let the SR influence your opinion on whether or not things are okay in the map

what is your suggestion for a fixed rhythm that follows the vocals? the vocal clearly does not begin on the white tick if you listen on 25% so either the timing is off (which i doubt it is) or it's snapped to the 1/8th tick. i can't abandon following the vocals because i'm following them the whole kiai, and i think that snapping it to the blue tick isn't even additive mapping or an overmap or ignoring the rhythm of the song, it's expressing the song in an easier to play and understand way

as for the diff name, that's not a big deal to change lol it's just a pun :( i said that i would capitalize the I in Insane, i'm not trying to be _edgy_ i just wanted to make a play on words zzz

00:08:170 (1,2,3,4) - this ones are fine, since they aren't stacked directly on each other, but 00:01:921 (1,2,3,4) - are not, I'm judging by the spread of the map and the readability of it, not by the sr.

as for the diff name, that's not a big deal to change lol it's just a pun :( i said that i would capitalize the I in Insane, i'm not trying to be _edgy_ i just wanted to make a play on words zzz I'm not moving the map forward with that kind of diff name, for the reasons I explained before and the opinions I got from QATs and nominators
  1. Under your logic of mapping the breath instead of the actual word, this 00:39:416 (2) - shouldn't start at the white tick neither lol, anyways my suggestions:
  2. 00:39:709 (3) - as you state before the vocal isn't starting at the bluetick, but after it in 1/8, your excuse is simplification, but the white tick also work as a simplification and tbh the bluetick is empty, while the white tick has a strong sound on it, also if you listen the song at 100% the vocal makes a lot more sense in the white tick than in the empty blue one.
  3. 00:40:002 (1) - why the NC, there are no SV changes and isn't neither a stanza. This happens a lot, I understand the ones at the SV changes, but the ones withot SV are not necessary, also they are inconsistent 01:42:495 (4) - vs 00:40:002 (1) -
  4. 00:40:783 (1,2) - skipping the white ticks which have a strong sounds to extend the slider at the blue tick isn't a smart idea, I get you want to follow the vocal sound, but playing these sliders over strong sounds is super weird, mostly when nightcore songs are based on these kind of sounds.
  5. 00:41:565 (1) - why are some vocals mapped with a 1/4 slider while others don't 00:42:346 (4) - the hold in the vocal is basically the same
  6. 00:45:470 (1) - a 1/2 slider and a circle would fit the vocals better, since you are mapping each vocal as an active beat.
  7. 00:52:208 (2) - exactly the same as 00:39:709 (3) -
  8. 00:56:407 (1,2,3) - the vocals actually ends before the blueticks, makes more sense to snap the slider tails to the strong sounds at the white ticks than extend them to the non importants blue ticks, oh btw you are following vocals no? 00:57:188 (3) - why the slider is ignoring the vocal at the white tick?
  9. 00:57:969 (1) - I think a 1/2 slider and a circle would work better, since the vocals are click'ables no?
  10. 01:18:865 (1) - 01:22:380 (1) - etc, if you are following vocals why isn't the vocal click'able? I like the current' rhythm, just your following vocals excuse gets inconsistent, I mean you're mapping at nothing before with the vocal excuse, but here you're ignoring the vocals.
  11. 01:42:202 (3) - exactly the same as 00:39:709 (3) -,
  12. 01:54:701 (2) - same as above
  13. more inconsistent NCs 01:43:276 (1,1) - vs 00:40:783 (1,2) -
  14. 00:42:932 (1,2) - vs 01:45:424 (2,3) -
  15. 01:47:572 (1) - 00:45:080 (4) -
  16. 01:54:993 (3) - 00:52:501 (1) -
  17. 00:53:087 (1) - 01:55:579 (2) -
  18. 00:55:430 (1) - 01:57:923 (2) -
  19. 00:57:578 (4) - 02:00:070 (1) -
  20. 00:58:555 (1) - 02:01:047 (2) -
  21. 01:59:680 (3) - why are you ignoring the vocal at the white tick?
Kaifin
i addressed all points in mod + i agreed about the bolded reasons after talking it over in irc

IRC
20:21 Natsu: the kiai rhythms are 4 places only and the NCs being different at each kiai don't take more than 10 mins to be fixed
20:21 Natsu: about the overlaps i can let them pass tho
20:23 Kaifin: there are a lot more suggestions than just that
20:24 Natsu: they are mostly NCs
20:24 Natsu: tbh are just ncs that u used at 1 kiai and u didnt used at the second one
20:26 Kaifin: i can fix the ncs
20:26 Kaifin: but i have no clue how to fix patterns like00:51:915 (1,2) -
20:26 Kaifin: 00:40:783 - stuff like this skipping the white ticks i think is okay because people aren't listening to the 1/1 drum beat thats going through the whole song, the vocals are much more emphasized
20:28 Natsu: https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/8002744
20:28 Kaifin: 00:57:188 (3) - this slider is not ignoring the vocal, i think that having 00:57:188 (3,4) - instead of extending the slider gives the vocal more emphasis, plus plays way better as a pattern of 00:57:188 (3,4,5) -
20:29 Kaifin: 00:57:969 (1) - this sounds more held to me than clickable sounding but that is just me
20:29 Kaifin: and for the not following vocals outside the kiai
20:30 Kaifin: i follow drums during the verse sections consistently
20:30 Kaifin: i can do that rhythm you suggested for the 4 patterns
20:30 Natsu: if you make the NCs consistent (at your way at both kiais) and u fix the 00:39:709 (3) - 00:52:208 (2) - 01:42:202 (3) - 01:54:701 (2) -
20:30 Natsu: i'd be fine with this
20:30 Kaifin: and if you really want i can make the sliders slightly stacked
20:30 Kaifin: so that its clearer
20:30 Kaifin: i just think its way cooler the way it is
20:31 Natsu: I also think is cool
20:32 Natsu: but mmm there were many people complaining at bn chat
20:32 Natsu: if you want we can try to keep it like that
20:32 Kaifin: i'd rather not get the map dq'd
20:33 Kaifin: i know people who would try and dq the map because of it so i might as well change
20:33 Kaifin: its small change anyways
20:34 Natsu: mmm tbh
20:34 Natsu: my point of questioning u much
20:34 Natsu: is that u gave me all your reasons in thread so people don't complain about these things later
20:36 Kaifin: it has been a frustrating week
20:36 Kaifin: sorry for being too apprehensive to change
20:37 Natsu: that's fine, I has been in the same situation and I actually removed my diff from the set lol
20:37 Natsu: that's why I don't want the same happen here
20:41 Kaifin: i appreciate it
20:42 Kaifin: i will fix the stuff and post the log so that the explanations are there
20:48 Kaifin: omar is afk so can i osz you the changes
20:48 Kaifin: to see if they are okay
20:49 Natsu: sure
20:49 Kaifin: okay i just need to finish the last 2 patterns
20:49 Natsu: i'll sleep soon tho, is 5 am in italy xDDD
20:49 Kaifin: o wow

Hey~

General

  1. Could you add "Speed" to tags? this genre is also known as that. Add "Techno, Trance, Dance, Rave Happy Hardcore" as well, cause they're related to this kind of music.
Asphyxia's Hard

  1. 00:13:638 (1,2,3,4,5) - Even if this looks consistent regarding the spacing in the editor, it's different when you're playing it due that the Stack Leniency affects it a bit more which makes it to look messy, I think would be a lot better if you do a manual stack; Just as you did it 00:27:113 (2,3,4) - here.
  2. 00:50:255 - Could you silence the tail of this one? It sounds really loud, so I think using a 5% would be a lot better or at the least decrease it to 10%, up to you.
Kaifin's Insane

  1. 00:05:826 (3) - Unsnapped object. Don't forget to resnap them all to avoid things like this, cause it would be a problem after the Qualification.
Kaifin's Insane was an interesting difficulty. The other difficulties are fine to go.

This is going to be about the Normal difficulty.
Normal difficulty mod
1)
00:37:854 (1) - Upon this point of the map, at the kiai time, as to follow up with the 4 circles right before, perhaps trying to get a larger combo count would be better, as to "fill up" the colours ; this would as well be a break through considering the
00:26:918 (1) - part where it starts with a much lower number of objects on a combo. It would mean each colour of combo is equally represented and it could really look nice, I guess.
https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/8886774
https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/8886813
2)
01:29:215 (6) - Does this circle follow the beat? I have the feel it fills up some void in the rhythm, and perhaps some kind of placement like this : https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/8886774 could introduce to the variation with reverse arrow, and it seems to add emphasis over this vibration part, right before a kiai time so an important part of the song, where the rhythm fondamentally changes. Even more, the previous beating-in-echo circle is now a reverse arrow on weak sound, which is exactly in the consistency of 01:34:097 (1,2) -

As I'm a casual player, I can only give feedback over the two first difficulties, though I kind of know some basics of standard mapping, therefore you certainly have more experience than me, I just wanted to give a little feedback from casual players ;) don't be shy to answer me, btw that map was the FIRE! So pleasant to see, nightcore + electronic :o please rank it so I can favorite it.

~Popped~

After hearing a couple of opinions and rechecking myself, I've concluded that this set needs an advanced diff (between Normal and Hard). I still like the set though. Feel free to poke me again for rebub once that's done; sorry for the inconvenience.

ok done

didnt do 2nd point in lolsebca's post bnecause its fine as it is currently
ZekeyHache
wow it's alive
you should've gotten a check in the new diff before calling me back but whatevssss

[Advanced]
  1. 00:10:904 (4,5,1) - that alignment can be improved
  2. 00:13:638 (2) - perhaps extend this slider to the blue tick? the beat is pretty strong there and you shouldn't ignore it at this level imo
  3. 01:24:528 (1,2,1) - alignment
  4. 01:31:949 - I think you're missing a circle here since you put one at 01:35:074 (3) - 00:29:457 (3) - & 00:32:581 (3) -
[Normal]
  1. 00:02:507 - 00:05:631 - 00:08:756 - 00:15:005 - 00:18:130 - 00:21:254 - 01:11:249 - 01:17:498 - 01:20:622 - 01:26:481 - I suggest to add a circle in the places I've mentioned here, not only because the music/vocals supports it, but also because the sections around these spots are spamming a lot of 1/1 rhythm consecutively, which makes the map boring. Adding circles here would add more variation to the map and won't make the diff too challenging for a normal. You could just place the current patterns around those sections to any map of the same bpm and they would fit, at least adding circles to those spots could make an acceptable difference imo. Not to mention that this would improve the spread a bit.

Kaifin
  1. 00:08:170 (1) - Why did you decide to perfectly stack from here onwards despite not doing so earlier, it makes reading a bit z
  2. 00:28:675 (1) - imho it would be much better to delete this NC as this is the same SV as 00:26:918 (1,2,3) . This would make the whole pattern make a lot more sense as then the only NC in the pattern would be the SV change at 00:29:261 (1) making it a lot easier to recognise.
  3. 00:31:800 (1) , 01:31:168 (1) , 01:34:293 (1) - ^
[]
I feel the hitsounding pattern is a too simple and comes off a bit poor as a result. There are only claps on the 2nd, 4th drum beats and whistles spaced sparsely; the rhythms within the map are much denser than the hitsound pattern would suggest.
[]
Reason for pop

The volume of the objects is really low, for kaifin's it's 30% overall and the rest of the diffs are the same but with 40% for kiais. I can barely hear the objects and don't deem it a satisfactory level of feedback. I won't accept "you can turn up effects volume in game" as a counter argument because the song is fairly quiet in the beginning and the objects are somewhat audible there, just altering the effects volume in game would skew this further.

I believe having the volume increase to 70/80% for the louder parts of the song to be a suffice solution for the issue. Also take note if you do this make sure that the objects placed on the end of the kiais still have the same volume as the kiai , for example 01:04:413 (1)
